Actually I think I could beat him here. Korean, +256 range to mangonels, +256 Siege Engineers. Attack him from inside the forest when he can't reach you.

@@nemou4985 Probably won't get there fast enough, the castles still are bunkers for the king, you won't get to kill any villager.

@@AGoodLittleSub After only 32 Siege Engineers, Mangonel Line One-shots every building, since it not only increases range but also damage.

@@nemou4985 But can you increase the shot's speed, though? Because with the speed on those vils, it's probably pretty hard to hit any of them. You could go for a king snipe, I guess, but still seems pretty hard of a task. You do have the advantage in the microing, though, since vils can't auto attack, but you do require some luck to be placed far from him so you're not his first target.

@@AzafTazarden Well, it is more likely to not be the first target than to be it. You go for a king snipe, yes. But, auto-attacking villagers with instakill onagers is also an option... you can't increase the shot speed, but you can shower a large enough area with enough onagers, considering they need to chop wood.

Well you can probably snipe the vills from a long ways off if you get fletching enough times.

First, spies costing 200 is just silly as it means you can't hide, and you can snipe with arrows from across the map without exploring. Only villagers would be weaker if kings can hide. But as it is, this is dependent on getting to market first and regicide start. TaToH messed up at the start by making a villager (maybe he had never done regicide start with FN before), so he had to clear 9 tiles, then wait another 150 seconds for 50 food. If you don't make the first villager, you clear 8 tiles for two buildings. But Celts chop 20% faster. So if Celts are allowed, and someone chose them, the Celt player might be worse late game as it's harder for their villagers to damage other units, but they can prevent a Spanish player from getting good market prices. Malay could win out here too. Other civs can still get +3000 HP and +256/512 armor from loom (Incas can also get villager +attack, and have infantry that auto-attacks), and Sappers would let villagers kill units too if you get over 1000 bonus from it from researching it 67 times. The bonus from Sapper would also ignore melee and pierce armor, so you could kill units with 100 blacksmith armor upgrades. If you don't market first, then you have half the villagers of other players and nothing to really show for it. After selling wood and buying food the first time, TaToH had 900 food; if another player had reached market first, he might have only had 500 food or less, which only recoups what he spent to reach feudal with 16 minutes of lower population.

Spanish already have a building civilization bonus so they don't have Treadmill Crane

@@silvergrove8517 Well, in 256x you normally are still able to get the other 255x of the tech. Like frank paladins can get bloodlines etc.

Spanish don't get Treadmill crane, their villagers build 30% faster as a civ bonus, and they cannot research treadmill crane. Treadmill crane increases building speed by 20%You're thinking of a bonus like the Vikings where wheelbarrow and handcart are free. They get the tech and don't have to pay for it the first time.
