Except for the larvae, the crickets and earthworms looked "planted". Those crickets look like the kind you buy in the pet store for lizards and earthworms aren't normally just laying around like that.

I am a Tribal from Northeast India and we do eat Larva(raw) and cricket(cooked) too but not the earthworm...lol To many Asians I bet most of the things he ate is a delicacies and not so unusual.

Joseph Boger Maybe they put them there just to make the show. But in real life those are the kind of stuff he "hunts" and eats. Like Bear Grylls, they stage the terrain so he can demonstrate survival skills.

Ok, I'm dead serious here. The insectarium in New Orleans got me into this. Crickets are delicious. Seriously. They are tasty. When prepared correctly, they have a unique and delicious taste. I would recommend you try them. Emmy eats did a series about eating bugs a few years ago that includes crickets, and she agrees. They are legit good, and I'm surprised they haven't caught on yet.

I live 2 years in a forest and 6 years in nature in different places...he look like me older and i aswell got a dog as partner.. well i can say nature is amazing and healing. But for the longrun for me i need good condition in the nature .and to evolve and change places.. i would love to sit with him talk abput experience living in the naturr .we both doing it. just saying . . . those are the most pet store looking crickets that i have ever seen in the wild. natural crickets of that type are almost always black and not just running around on the surface.That said i strongly believe in what he may or may not be doing. we have lost touch with many lost ideas and skills.

Here in NZ we have an insect lava called HUHU grubs which are yum as fried in butter . Its like eating hot chips from the takeaways only nicer and better for us

I did this stuff for several months in the woods in Ontario Canada but i made fire heated up a flat rock over the fire and put worms crickets grasshoppers and stuff on the rock and fried them then are them the worms are pretty gross actually but crickets are good
