I set this trail camera overlooking a whitetail deer scrape, but many other species used the same trail as the deer. The buck chasing the doe is the best deer rut footage I have ever gotten. That's how male deer act when the rut is in full swing: pursuing the opportunity to breed above all else (including their own safety). What does the deer rut look like closest to where you are? Thanks for watching.
Trail Camera: Browning Recon Force Advantage
Location: Alabama, USA
Species Shown: White-tailed Deer (Odocoileus Virginianus), Raccoon (Procyon Lotor), Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus Carolinensis), Coyote (Canis Latrans), Opossum (Didelphis Virginiana), Eastern Wild Turkey (Meleagris Gallapavo Silvestris), Wild Hog (Sus Scrofa), and Nine-Banded Armadillo (Dasypus Novemcinctus).

I can honestly say that this Alabama video is my new favourite. So interesting. "Don't blink" 🤣. And the morning bird calls ...... ❤️ Thanks so much for making the start of my day so good.

Oh my God, that intro! First the dashing does, and then the music and cinematography! You've never done that before. The natural sounds in your videos have always added to our vicarious connection with nature. But that view up to the sky with those tall, tall trees swaying in the wind and that glorious, uplifting music made me cry. I'm tired of winter and yearn for spring and summer to be in the woods and mountains! Thank you. Better to feel that yearning full force than as a numbness of unknown cause. There were a lot of small moments I could comment on, like the raccoon slipping off that slender downed tree. And the wild, black hogs coming into view toward us, first just the eyes, then the fat black pigs. I worked at catching the buck chasing the doe, backing up, changing the speed to 0.25, never quite getting what I wanted, and then moving on, to discover you had done this for us, and it was perfect! Videos like this add to the quality of our lives. And I was glad to see the number and quality of ads this video attracted. I watched the entire Swiss passenger train ad, because that's something I'd like to do and will do sooner or later. I'm also a fan of Trevor Noah. Then the almost too high-tech e-bike. I assume the longer the ad, the more money you make, even if per view it still seems miniscule. Great video, with your signature introduction explaining why this location.

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback. I like experimenting with editing and I’ve always wanted to make a type of short film. This video isn’t that, but it’s a step in the right direction I think. I’d like to show start to finish a trail camera adventure, with some tracking, camping, and documentary type facts sprinkled in. I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

@@Michael.Outside Thanks. I'm training as much as possible now for an ultramarathon. So that's half my free time right there. The video you describe sounds really interesting. I realize it may not happen right away, but I'm looking forward to it. Based on your videos so far, including this one, I'm sure you're going to knock it out of the park!

You've done it again... Magically made half an hour seem like 5 minutes! Loved all the forest sounds and the young female deer all sticking close together. They look really healthy. Also enjoyed the squirrels 😊

Thank you Julie. This was a really fun spot. I don’t want to promise anything that I can’t deliver, but I did some exploring after this camera pickup and I think I found a nearby spot that will be really good. Lots and lots of deer trails all intersecting.

@@Michael.Outside I'll look forward to that. No rush. Take your time cos your followers won't be going anywhere! Incidentally, I heard a radio prog this week (or I maybe read it) about some resarch that showed we all benefit from not just the sights and smells of nature in the woods, but also from the higher pitched sounds, some of which we can't even hear because they are out of our hearing range, yet they still affect us physiologically in a very positive way for our psychological well being. Lower pitched sounds help but the higher pitched sounds much more so. Interesting huh? No wonder we love your audio! 👍

That’s very interesting. I’ll have to read it. It wouldn’t surprise me. Walking in the woods for an hour makes me very relaxed. Even if the temperatures aren’t exactly pleasant.

Michael, you celebrate the circle of life with each of your videos. Those pigs hanging back just almost out of the light made me think of my childhood visions of hobgoblins waiting in the forest for unwary travelers. Fun! Didn't see any large or major predators... Are you set up near a town?? Anyway, thank you and good work!!
@Michael.Outside
@Michael.Outside Год назад
😅 hobgoblins. The biggest predators here are coyotes and bobcats. Gators in certain areas. This isn’t too far from a town, but is connected to thousands of acres of woodland. Thanks!

Excellent footage, was that a deer skull or hog skull y’all found? Nice looking rack on the buck at 4:40. Yikes something grabbed that squirrel?

Do the deer see the camera? They stop and seem to look at it.

They know something is there. They can see it, smell it, hear it.
