The only way we can do that is by utilizing an aftermarket ECU😅 We did a ej20x from a 4th gen Legacy in a GC8 and the DBW aspect wasn’t too difficult 🙂

That is crazy that you mention that! We actually are working on the video for a SF5 AT to 5 speed swap right now! Swap is done and the editing should be done soon👍🏻
@@OkiSubies Very nice 👍 Maybe you can spice up the video or do another one regarding a manual swap where you install a different gen. manual to a newer car. Like a gc8 5mt dccd box to a GD/SG. I would believe a gc8 manual to Sf would be easier to do as they are the same generation? And the dccd part would make another video again... not to mention you would need a R180 then etc. Getting carried away, hope I gave some ideas. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely! Thats an easy request! We are on it 👍🏻 Just in case you need the info asap. 1. Pump clutch and with the foot pedal down, open the bleeder valve. 2. Close valve and pump again and repeat. 3. Make sure you do the top bleeder valve first if you have one. There are a few other methods like holding the clutch fork back but we will look into the owners manual of a few cars and do a good summary video for you
Next time I go to Japan I’m going to see if I can visit your shop. Have a question for you. I have a 2005 usdm wrx wagon, I swapped a ver7 STi gauge cluster into it. I get a ABS light constantly illuminated due to the fact that my GD wagon is an 05 but the cluster is from an 01-02 GD. My understanding is that Subaru reversed polarity on the abs wiring in 04-05. Do you know if there is a proper way to get the ABS light to go off ? People have suggested putting tape over the light and removing the bulb but I like to hear other suggestions. That is a very interesting issue to come across! We have never dealt with that but I found a write up on what seems to be an option. Basically a relay was used to trick the ecu’s polarity. forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2328501
great content. what is with the ECU ? simply old out and the new in? enginecables are the same ? i have a crash wrx blobeye (230ps) and this come all in my sf5 or my gc8 no turbo , so if can...?!?
Unfortunately the wiring is completely different so we had to merge the wiring to make it work so we are using the WRX’s 16bit ECU and harness. The wiring process that you have to do is the same as a GC8 merge like we do in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aS3tkQ6tRPI.html🙂👍🏻
@okisubies sorry im having to leave a message here, have you got any advise on power mods for a 4eat classic wrx v1 1994. Also have you done anything on autos before?
Not a problem at all! First advice is 6 speed swap it! Kind of joking but the torque converter will be a limiting factor eventually. The GC8’s will also require a standalone ECU before you could start doing bolt ons though, something like a Haltech or Link ECU (we prefer Haltech) Do you have a power goal for the car?
