The math doesn't add up here, the song is only 41 years old in 2019. If you heard it when you were 7 you would be 48 now. It will sound just as good 9 years from now though.
Yeah I notice that with many vocalists who have graced us with their singing over the last 50 years or so. Justin still has that same sense of humour...also ageless.
I cry every time I hear this song. If my wife of 50 years dies before me I plan to play this song at her funeral. Justin's timeless, golden throat and heartfelt lyrics are perfect for how much I will miss her.
I've buried my beautiful daughter of 42 and gent of a son 32 a few yrs ago Yr half apart theire now together laid to rest I put on the headstone my life will be forever autumn cause your not here
Justin Hayward is a musical Diety. He has the most evocative voice in modern rock music. His writing and singing have created the soundtrack for millions of lives, including mine.
How can anyone give this a thumbs down is unimaginable. The Moody Blues music has been awe inspiring. When I hear the group sing or in solo performances always.takes me back to a beautiful time. I will always have their music my life. They were always soul touching. I feel so lucky to have been able to grow up in the time they were as there music will always have a place in my heart. Thank you Justin Hayward for continuing to give younger generations a chance to enjoy the music of the Moody Blues.
Who cannot love this guy? He is a phenomenon. In his mid-70's, still performing, still composing, and still sounds as great as he did when he was a lot younger. He is a legend. The Moody Blues back in the day would not have been as popular as they were without him! He has contributed a lot to the music industry and this song, not written by him, proves it.
This is one of my favorite songs.. I have seen the Moody Blues 6 times throughout my life and consider their music ingrained in my life. Justin Hayward is still amazing. His voice is still so beautiful and his music is a gift! Thank you Justin!!
I can't fathom that this was popular in 1978, when I was graduating high school. Where have the years gone....Justin Hayward does age and his voice is so ethereal 🤔
I've appreciated this since I was 17, I'm 36 now, I think all young people should have a to listen to different eras of music and be able to learn instruments and sing during music class
The Younglings have Gold in their eyes, everything is "hit & run" never meant to last, no real substance, certainly nothing the quality of "Forever Autumn"
@@ambsblobby4382 Thank God there are you, though young, that have an ear for quality, the kind that transcends time, space, & age. < Happy Holidays Amber > 🎄🙏🎵🎶
A pure gent I lost my beautiful daughter a few yrs ago and less than yr half apart my beautiful son died I've laid them to rest together with the words on their headstone my life will be forever autumn cos your not here x
An early profound teacher even though he currently acknowledges humbly that he is still learning what he was singing about. I am grateful for his influence on my life and for this troubled world.
I love this song 💯♥️🔥 i actually just listened to the original..... i lost my fianc'e to cancer six years ago and listened to this non stop at that time....... Justin you are Awesome Thankyou 💯👏👏👏👏👏👏💯🔥
grew up listening to this guy saw him at cliffs pavillion for my birthday, god he tells a story his voice is still there even better with age a real class act we had a great night , hes a real gentleman every song touches my heart .x me and helen
Justin Hayward defines the term "aging gracefully". Still touring, I'd love to see him perform one more time. Like me, I'm sure these songs have been a part of your life, and still are. Beautiful song.
I was lucky enough to have my mom take us to see them when I was a kid back in the late 80's - early 90's. We even got to meet Justin Hayward and John Lodge a couple of times and they were perfect gentlemen, very gracious and unassuming, completely at odds with the "rock star" persona. Even after becoming a complete metalhead in my early teens, I loved going to those shows. Listening to and singing along with their albums taught me a lot about harmony and got me started on the path to becoming a musician. I will always cherish this band. And a little footnote. Justin Hayward is respected for his voice but he's tragically underrated as a guitarist, moving in and out of and masterfully combining lead and rhythm. The man is a god.
For as long as Justin has been singing, there hasn't been a single singer come along with a voice like his. When Justin leaves us, his sound will leave us too. I'm so thankful that he's still around and singing as great as ever.
I was in a record store in Massachusetts at the university and they had thisLP on. It just came out. I immediately bought it. 75 I think. I have always loved it.
One of my most memorable concert was The Moody Blues under the sky of Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado. This group is my favorite. They are tale tellers, symphonic harmony geniuses. They have common goals to bond together as a steady band. I have seen them multiple times. Each time, i searched my soul when their progress in music tuned in with the times. All their songs are great, but one that checked me in is, I know that your out there somewhere.
Simple, evocative great song. Along with folk music, Nationalists✌ tend to favor #symphonicRock ...of which the #MoodyBlues & #JustinHayward are/were a prime example.
Hello Janie, It’s my pleasure to meet you. Thank you for the love and passion you have for my music career I truly appreciate you from my heart. Where are you from?
@@JustinHayward-zp3pi Thank you Justin. I am honored to be writing to you. I had admired The Moody Blues for over 50 years now. My name is Jane Ramona Frieman and I was born and raised in New Jersey. I describe my nature as creative, my strongest asset. I would describe you as creative also. I sometimes imagine myself singing backward music with the two other ladies who were dressed in black. The late Ray Thomas, who was donning a blue shirt, was singing "For My Lady". Another video of yours "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" is a rock fans dream. I love to write poetry, blogs (although I am writing less than I did some years back). I love doodling and drawing. Doodling is practice for line drawing. I am thrilled that you have contacted me. Please stay in touch.
Ditto everything great you all said plus a big sigh! I never had one, but I was going to name my first born son, Justin Hayward whatever. That's ok, there really is only one JH! Thank you sir for all your wonderful music my whole life! Over 40 years we have been together! Have seen the Moody Blues 8 times, lucky enough the first one was the Seventh Sojourn Tour in 74 where I got to see Michael Pinder before he left! I love this War of the Worlds production. Have listened hundreds of times! I hope someday to actually meet you! You are sooooo classy!
He sounds just as wonderful as ever!!!! Love this song!!!! Forever Justin!!! (whoever the 5 people are who gave this 'thumbs down' are totally deaf!!!)
LOL over 11,500 people viewed so the 5 thumbs down must be due to the fact we have to take less than professional sound and video gear to save these moments for the fans who just can't get there, eh?
1st Concert I ever saw was @ The Mann Music Center in Philadelphia, PA: I was 13 & My Sister who was 7 Years Older & Her Fiancè took me there✌ Been my Favorite Prog Rock Band ever Since!💯😎
As a Moody Blues fan since 1970, there has never been another group that could lessen the burdens of life for me like they could. Just playing a song like New Horizens would instill in me that everything will turn out OK. Their music is as meaningful today as it was 50 years ago.
I absolutely love this song and me and my Oldman listen to it over and over as well as the adaptation of war of the world's on cassette tape. he. ha been gone 7years now. I can't sing it without crying. thanks you are the greatest.
There are millions of great songs and this is certainly one of them. When I first heard it, it conjured up emotions and takes you to a place. A great song can do that.
In 1978 I sat with a group of friends in house trailer in Auburn Alabama to listen to the new Album by Jeff Wayne....War Of The Worlds . I had just bought it and my friends and I had some serious home grown to set the ambiance for this story that the album told . No one spoke or moved from their seat throughout the entire album. accept to turn the records over . I did that. This was played on a huge old school Pioneer tuner amp .. Thorsen Turn table and Sansui Speakers . My dad sent me from Vietnam in the 60's . These were collage years... Me from the University of Alabama was sitting in a trailer in Auburn Universty's Gentily Trailer Park . Smoking some home grown sense with my old high school budies from Enterprise Alabama. All of us grew up on the Moody Blues and couldn't wait to here what was on this album. 40 years later it is still in my top 10 of all time favorites . I have it on that original album... Cassette and CD as well as MP3 on my memory stick .I get goose bumps and teary eyed when Forever Autum comes on unexpectantly some where. as it does for that group of now dwindeling friends , I had so many years ago.
Wow… you sound just the same as you did in the beginning. I’m your age Justin & my voice has definitely changed. God has blessed you mightily for the benefit of us all ! May He continue to bless you & yours ❤
From the first time I heard War of the Worlds back when it crashed into our world this has been one of my favorite songs and it still is. For me there is only one who can and who should sing this song and that is Justin. It will be his song forever, nothing will ever change that.
Such a gorgeous song I’ve loved it since I first heard it many years ago! Justin sounds so great love his beautiful voice! He only gets better with the passing of time! Thanks Justin for all your wonderful music. ♥️🎶🙏🏼🥰☮️♥️
Thanks for your consistent love and support towards me on my page l appreciate you being a fanilow and can't thank you enough. You can Write me with the address above so we can have more conversations on how long you being a fan and my music XOXOXOXOX0 Justin
Admittedly, the song did not do well in the US (#47/#20 AC), but both my girlfriend and I liked it. After she left, It hit home more, and now, years after she passed, it haunts me for what should have been. My life is forever autumn, 'cause she's not here. Justin made one fortuitous decision to go cut that track for Jeff Wayne back in '77, and it remains at the top of my personal list.
Loss is the hardest thing we ever have to face and this song faces it head on. "Coz yr not here" is such a lonely cry into the autumn wind which anyone who has ever suffered loss knows is true; this is a necessary song.
I had that same haunting sadness ... for that same reason .It was like my theme song ... time heals all wounds ... but how much time .. that is the question.
This has always been one of my favourite songs of all time,(top 3 always- others change ,but this is always there!) and will be Forever Autumn of my life.XX to Justin.
I fell i love with the Moodies in 1967 and they still are my favorite group, Justin's voice is beautiful to listen to. What's bittersweet is seeing your idols grow old right along with you.
It is hard to fathom it has been 40 years this fall since I first put the 45 of this on my radio station's turntable and played it. My girlfriend got the LP and both of us liked it. The years have turned it into one of my defining songs. My life is forever autumn, for she's no longer here. For Debbie, forever.
Josep Duran i I buyed these Rekord "War of the World", in 1978 in Newquay/UK! Now the Rekord is in Germany! I hope i have all the Records of The Moody Blues, and Justin Hayward! I live this Music Since More than 50 years!
The main verse of this song hangs in my living room. Professionally painted on a vertical wooden plank. We all know someone who is a Forever Autumn. I used to wait to hear this on the radio way back and once a year they would play this lovely song but I would catch it. The magnificent Justin Hayward of the original Moody Blues. Listened to this talented bunch since I was ten years old. What amazing talent all around. For those we have lost in the Moody Blues know you will always be remembered.
