That carbon release is quite amazing, I think the only reason I may wait on it is to see it on a bracelet. I do wish the rubber strap was on a deployment clasp that would be nice as well.
@@JasonAuerback maybe but would still be a lot cheaper than high luxury carbon watches. The option would be nice. Technically the carbon case only added about $300 to the watch? So maybe the carbon strap would really just make it a ~$1500 watch. Then you still have the rubber strap one if you want to save the money. Would be cool
It is important to take note that the PRX Carbon is using powermatic 25 jewels. This is the same movement that Mido is using. It has silicon balance spring and no plastic parts compare to 23 jewels movement. That alone justify the asking price. Kindly correct me if I'm wrong. Not to mention shorter lug tip to tip due to the silicon strap.
Love the forged carbon. And though less water ressistant (100m vs 300m) than the Sideral, does have a Si Hairspring, which the Sideral does not. Similar MSRP on both. Def could add this to my collection, as so Zenith like and not like my other PRXs, and def diff than Sideral.
So, if there are only 2 gradient dials, which is the one that seems to have purple on the bottom of the dial? I'm trying to understand, is this like a flat or static gradient that remains the same look at any angle? OR, is it more dynamic and color shifts a bit depending on the angle? I'm leaning more towards the fact the gradient dials may actually change color slightly depending on the angle..maybe that's why some purple shows up on one of the images. I guess I will have to see in person to know exactly what the visual effect is.
How would they do a bracelet in the forged carbon? that would be fantastic. Would they do forged carbon links? Black coated metal links? I would buy one FOR SURE.
None of these are the releases I expected, but I'm here for it. The gradient dial is cool (light blue is my favorite), but I would need to see it in person before deciding. Thankfully, I have local options that will probably have it eventually.
Nice to see MAMACOO show a watch that can be afforded by almost anyone rather than these pieces costing thousands and thousands which are out of reach for so many.
Nice review Chris. That forged carbon is amazing! Is it possible to make a bracelet out of forged carbon? If so, they need to do it! I have one watch with a Powermatic 80. After I had it serviced, it has been among my most accurate automatic watches. This one is really tempting!
I prefer the forged carbon watch by Formex. It’s all carbon fiber without PVD coating and has aZirconium Oxide ceramic bezel. Also on the fly micro adjustments for all their straps. It’s more expensive but well worth the upgrade over the Tissot which is really not in the same league.
Also, I think the forged carbon is cool.. at first. But, I feel it may look too dull in person and may lose any character and details to the case and dial as a result. Images of the watch itself are computer renderings and bring out the carbon texture. However, images of the actual watch on wrist seem to make it much more subtle where it just looks like a mostly dark grey watch with little light reflection yo define the case shaoe and details. Hard to say for sure what the actual visual effect will be until I see it in person.
I don't understand the limited edition. I know the Japanese anime character. I just don't see the association with Tissot nor the PRX design. It seems like a forced limited edition and the design of the character the dial appears gimmicky and not particularly aesthetically pleasing.
Hey Chris, honest question. I do like Tissot, and these are great looking watches but are they still using a plastic escape wheel & pallet fork in the Powermatic 80 movement? I opted for the Christopher Ward 12 because of it.
The black one virtually disappears. Why bother. The gradient paint job on the already too-busy waffle pattern dials takes them well into Krazy Kustom Kar territory. Maybe they can offer a limited run with pearl or candy apple coats signed by Gene Winfield. Kollect ‘em all!
To be honest, I can't afford a thousand dollar bag no matter how beautiful it is. I can say with certainty that every luxrul bag I've owned has been solid. Beautiful leather, top-notch hardware, amazing craftsmanship, and a clean silhouette and size that I love. I've been well worth every dollar I've spent, and they've held up perfectly for years.
Tissot one of the worst watch bands out there and US support is a joke! If you have a high 7” or larger wrist, these stock bracelet & bands suck. Good luck and enjoy
I'm sick of the prx now. Familiarity really does breed contempt. Bad movement and whenever I see them in the wild I just think that the wearer likely has a limited knowledge of watches or is just a sheep. A victim of its own success. Plus there's loads of better made options now in the market. If you know, you know......
@@bftger I didn't say they were bad people or anything. Far from it. It's an assumption based off observation. We judge people on a daily basis, it's instinctual. To claim otherwise is a virtue signal or at the very least a denial of fundamental human nature. Sheep are necessary, there's nothing wrong with going with the crowd, infact it's safer. I bought this popular video watch from AMZWATCH , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
I just don't like the look and feel of carbon Fiber on any watch brand. IMO it looks and feels cheap like the Swatch watches including the Omega and the Blancpain swatches and don't get me started with the Tag/kith abominations.
In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on AMZWATCH
