This is my first league in POE and I started delve a few days ago. Playing a Zoomancer with a few movement skills, including one for phasing and I am right now nearly at 200 depth. I rarely die but I can see that my DPS starts to slow down. Yet, as the drops are not that great yet, I keep pushing down as much as I can before doing a bit of horizontal exploration. Delve is an interresting way of testing your build but I'll admit that I never though of looking for side rooms as I go to a new node (I knew the cart would catch up when I go faster than him but I was not aware he would wait for me). If I am to try your strategy, I'll need more flares and better ones for sure :)
Amazing and well thought out video as always Jorgen, but I was wondering if you could make a video in the future just going into defenses and the defenses needed. I see a lot of people go CI over the years and I think that has to do with a lot of chaos hit-based one shots, and mitigating those, but I'm curious your overall thoughts on shallow delve defenses.

i popped Aul at depth 183 and he dropped an uprising. Only one ive done, but honestly havent did much and he dropped Uprising with free purity of elements
for posterity, in my experience basically all builds that can farm shaper guardian maps can do 400 with little issues (in softcore) if you're gonna be farming only delve you do want either ci or good chaos res though because of chaos degen zombies. I played vaal cyclone to 300 depth at some point my main suggestion unless you absolutely cannot spare a socket is running frost wall, it's a huge help when clearing nodes imo (especially with phasing, as you can just plop 3 walls and stay in the middle with no issues, or go to a side, the walls will block melee mobs and projectiles.) you usually want it at level 13 or 17 for the size of the wall vs mana cost.
It uses original sin. It's all about front loading DPS. If you slip up, you'll die. But also insanely expensive. Basically everything in the build is mirror tier
Good advice, I never delve till I'm on maps. First time I tried in act 4 I was insta wiped and learned my lesson! Sort of like affliction mechanic, it makes getting through the campaign miserable.
I didn't have any issues with the Affliction mechanic during the campaign, same for maps actually. It only brings me trouble sometimes when I get 'lucky' and collect a ton of wisps. But most of the time I can run them no problem and it does provide a lot of extra currency and items.
you probably said this in your video, but was watching it at work, so missed some parts, what level delve do u suggest to get to before just going sideways? or should you always just go down until you cant take it anymore?
pretty much yes, say if you keep dying at 300 then probably go up to 280 or so. but keep in mind biomes can also just have bad mods, maybe you *can* do 300 but a bad mod was affecting your build a lot
If you want to min/max, Delve rewards stop scaling after 1200-1300. That's when fossil nodes appear the most, which is where the consistent cash is. So if your build can go that deep, you should go between 1200 and 1500. Gives a lot of space to delve left and right

honestly i just uninstalled the game after 24hr of playing. it is just too frustrating already in act4. without livestreaming and having 500 ppl in chat explain every little thing the game is just is just missing so much QoL that it doesnt make the experience fun at all. every beginner guide is taken from the perspective of 1k+ hrs end game. every beginner guide assumes you have played the game till the end and understand and are using all the workarounds to the bad UI and crap base settings. the feeling is the devs dont care and they cant possibly play this game with such lacking QoL after this many years. @@JorgenPOE Going to try LE and hope it is better. thx
TY for this. I only started POE this week and my introduction to delve was getting popped like a grape lol. Had breezed everything until then. I’ve been watching plenty of vids on how to make bank, just trying to absorb info, and this is the first mention of delve I’ve seen. Might have a crack. I like the not as common angle. Going to need a new character though, but the good news is I should get some good gear for my current necromancer. The more I learn the more impressed I am with POE, even though I am totally lost atm. It may not be for everyone but it is nuts in a good way.
It's a great game, but the community will defs help you where you need help unlike in other game. Pop into our discord if you get the chance, heap of dudes in there that help new players and builds etc out. Great place to learn the game
Hello. Very interesting video with a lot of information. At what depth can we usually find the first crystal king? Is it possible to find another crystal king at approximately the same depth as the previous/first one, by going left or right in delve? what is the approximate cost for such a jugg on SC to be able to comfortably farm crystal kings at "lower" depths? This league i found first Aul at 300 depth. Previously leagues, i think, my first was at smth like 230-250. You can run left-right at 300+ and farm kings for sure. But more deeper you go, more bosses and good fossills nodes you Will see around your way. Also 300 depth is not that Hard so pretty common builds can go there with or without some problems. 300depth is one Day to drill. Decent damage, some defence and youl be okay
Is there a good atlas tree for boss and delve sustain? Your tree for ultimatum is poo poo in my mind no offence I just cant with Ultimatum and the stupid bad corrupted rares 95% of the time
I played poison SRS last league, got to like around 450 depth but my character was 150-200 divs. I can't really recommend it, minions start dying too fast and constantly risking AG dying is not a good experience.
They're used for crafting. More specifically target crafting specific mods you might need for a particular build. You socket them in resonators. Google fossil crafting and mod blocking.
Depends on how many cities you find. If you can get a king an hour you’ll be ok. You get a lot of bubblegum currency, and can turn your azurite into single resonator too
Great thing about the bosses is you don't need to farm them at 600. The depth mostly affects node drops. I've farmed plenty of aul's at 200 depth in previous leagues. Granted, it's best to delve at the depth you can handle of course.
from what i understand the "optimal" boss depth is 500. but i guess you are right that, the optimal is whatever you can handle. just got a bit demotivated, as all the other content is fine for me at 600, but i just can't kill the bosses. i have an Aul that is taunting me.@@DeedlyDood
