IMPORTANT Note: I used Canadian dollars in this video. The MSRP is $288 USD, £263, and $396 CAD. I forgot to mention the lume! Similiar to the PRX, the lume application is quite weak. This namoki is using C3 lume that is supposed to last 7 hours.
I am an older watch collector with an ever-maturing collection of timepieces. I must say that, in many ways, I envy how you are starting your journey. In the long run, it will give you a far deeper appreciation of the hobby than 99% of collectors out there. Keep it up!
The reason I yet to buy PRX 1. I hate integrated, it mainly force to use the strap especially designed for them 2. having one Powermatic calibre is enough for me, in some really goods (?) days if I try to wind my crown, the rotor spins too, and it seems to be a normal bug running on this series of ETA calibre, which to spreads to their modifications, the Powermatic 3. I have something similar, it's the Citizen from 1990 that my mum bought me before she died, it's my memories, and it's day-date too, not just date
Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I was not aware of the that particular eta bug. I originally wasn't a fan of integrated watches, but actually putting this on my wrist switched something in me 😅. Wow. That's a very touching story. In your case, no watch can outdo that Citizen - that is what watches are all about, memories. Thanks for watching
Hi. If the rotor is "helicoptering" when you manually wind the watch, that suggests the reversing wheels in the automatic module need to be cleaned & relubricated (if not replaced). Some watchmakers will automatically replace those with new parts (which come pre-lubricated), but there's a special lubricant for them (Lubeta V105). Servicing the automatic module by itself is a fairly small job, and to fix the problem on the extra cheap you could just quickly swap in new reversing wheels w/o cleaning+relubricating the whole auto works.
Looks very handsome, that green dial is a beauty ...... and fits you a treat ...... Congratulations on your 3rd successful build You are becoming quite a dab hand at watch-building (we learn more from the mistakes than the easy fits) - Three tense hours of work for potentially decades of wear and enjoyment from something you put together is a very good use of time.
Thanks for watching Mark! I love the dial too! The size is perfect for me as well! I'm trying to get better at watch building 😅. Because I can't make this video 3 hours long, I can't accurately capture how stressed I was when the movement was not fitting in the case 😅. I definitely agree with your statement about putting 3 hours to get decades of wear and enjoyment! Thanks for taking the time to comment and stop by!
I really appreciate your honesty in your building experiences. It might not always be easy to admit when and how you mess up in the process, but it is extremely helpful for others considering to purchase it as well :-)
Beautiful green dial and thanks for sharing the bumps in the road of the building process! Clumsy as I am, I think I’d make a mess. Mine would be a “better-not-watch “ instead of a “watch”.
I'm so glad you enjoyed. Honestly, it is quite a bumpy journey, but I think almost all watch enthusiasts should experience watch building at least once in their life. After putting together my next diy watch, I'll get back to you on how useful I found a new second-hand setting tool to be
Congrats🎉🎉🎉Would love to see more of the actual build process...It fits you so well, perfectly matches your jumper. Actually, the subtle green dial looks like it could be worn with just about any outfit!
Thank you Johan! I purposely wore the green sweater for the video 😅. I tried to include more b-roll of the building experience, but I couldn't quite get adequate lighting - that's why I shoot most b-roll outside. I thought about building it outside, but I'm afraid something (e.g. a stick) is gonna fall on the movement while I'm building 😅
I've done a couple of these mistakes myself. Nothing else to do but laugh at ourselves & do it again. It's a great hobby because there are always new challenges to take on (and new mistakes that you can make!). Anyhow I think you made a nice watch for yourself. I have a PRX quartz @ 40mm (paid ~$260 on Joma) and that's a great watch for the money, but for another automatic option I'll point out one from AliE: IX DAO's "Engineer". It's a copage of the IWC Ingenieur, and a very well done one. I got it with a PT5000 movement. I'm not entirely sure about the PT5000, but it is keeping great time, and anyway you can choose an SW200-1 instead. The Engineer isn't available in 35mm or 36mm though.
True! Always new mistakes that I have yet to make 😂. Still a great hobby though! The IX DAO looks pretty intriguing, but I'm personally not a huge fan of the ingeneur's design. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
@@TimeTickerOfficial you will, just keep practicing. The best tool for the chronograph is having the proper movement holder so no squishing of sensitive parts and so you can use all of the functions while building. Other than that all the same tools will suffice.
Hi TT! The Mamoki looks really great on your wrist and good proportions to boot! A definite hommage to Tissot PRX with the hands, markers and gorgeous dial. I don't have the patience or eyesight for such exercises as watch building. Removing or sizing bracelets stretches my limits enough... Congrats on another build! You're gettin' real good at this stuff!⌚
Thanks for commenting! Watch-building isn't for everyone. However, I am about to build a watch from DIY WATCHES and they sent me a second-hand setting tool which will lessen the difficulty of putting the secondhand on. Thanks for compliment but I am far from good 😅 you should've seen me struggle
I saw your pics on Instagram. It's a really nice looking watch. I've done my share of mods and it can be a nghtmare when you're learning. Including extra hands in the kits would make a lot of sense. Theyre pretty cheap and easy to damage. Excellent results though.
Ah the joys of watch building haha! Sounds like you had quite the adventure haha! These seem awesome! Its a lot of watch for the money. You have to view this as both a timepiece and an experience. This is a watch you dont want to sell because you built it yourself. The green is pretty though!
Great to see there are other female collectors and modders out there. I love watches too. I bought the light blue dial from Namoki but I am not keen on the bracelet. I found a case from specht & sohne on Ali But they sent me the wrong colour. I’ll also do the mother of pearl black dial mod which I will pair which a Lucius Atelier case, they are pretty good too but pricier than Namoki. Keep up the videos & modding!
Very cool, that watch you built will be your special watch along with the others you put together. My favorite watches are the ones I rebuilt or modified, looks like a Tissot and the color of the dial is awesome green. The Tissot I got has the option for leather straps that will really change the look of the watch, so I got the black leather strap. Great job 😊
Hello! Thanks for commenting! My diy watches are definitely special to me. Considering that you've already built and modified watches to look like a PRX, I'm guessing your collection is quite interesting! I have yet to find a compatible leather strap for this watch, but I'm not complaining (I actually adore the bracelet). Thanks for watching
It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. MAMACOO watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
You may want to try the diy watch club. They size the stems and they send two sets of hands. Hm. Not sure if it was the complete set or just the second hand. And they have a video tutorial for each watch. Oh, and they are also overpriced. :D 🕐⚙️🍸
