Maybe he can do that, plus a moon phase, perpetual calendar, micro rotor, split seconds Chrono, big date, free sprung silicon balance and escapement with tritium and a meteorite dial, all in one watch?
@@Yoshikaable 👏🏼 That’s the one. And surely it can’t be more than $400-$500. I’ll throw in an additional $25 if they hand deliver it to my door. But only if it’s not raining, on a morning that I don’t plan to sleep in, and only if it’s not too cold out.
@@GetOffMyLawnSKX finally someone who understands! Also if we are lucky, maybe they can make a special black-out edition, only on dark nights under a new moon 🌑
Or mechaquartz...not enough micros use mechaquartz movements but they really should. Cheap, very accurate and gives you the illusion of a mechanical movement. A mechaquartz ascend would be awesome (in 38mm).
So, a couple of things: I bought an Ascent and love it. Also, I would never feel bad about buying an Erebus. They’re well-designed watches sold by a gent who’s helped me define what’s important to me in a watch. The hours I’ve spent watching his videos and learning have truly benefitted me in my watch journey. Good on you, Jody!
You guys knocked it out of the park with the ascent. I actually bought the purple helix yesterday. Your divers aren’t pulling me in though. I wouldn’t mind spending $600-1000 to see you guys upgrade to some ETA or SW calibers with the same design language you used on the Ascents, but in a diver style. Something similar to Glycine with their 10.5mm thickness on the Combat Subs, but with the high polish bevels that play nice in the light; along with the Ascent style dials. Maybe a meteorite?! Or maybe even a full lume dial pilot watch?! That’s something I would love to see.
nice one Jody. Question, are you guys planning to lunch a budget range with seiko mecha-quartz movements? would be awesome to get a 100 dollar "assent" style and 100 dollar "origin" style with a set and forget that looks the part?
It is the modification of the bezel action to bidirectional 24 click that really sets your brand apart. Many companies can easily swap an NH34 into a slightly modified NH35 case and they can change the bezel to a 24 hour version, but hardly anyone bothers to change the bezel action. Well done.
I am happy for you! The brand looks strong, you make good decisions, every new release is a step forward, you have inventory and the timing of new releases is perfect to keep us interested. I think more people should support this kind of businesses where owners put their own personal reputation behind the products and don't hide behind tradable heritage, marketing and shareholders.
Well played sir, finally a blue dial/bezel that looks classy, and finally a budget GMT that ticks all the boxes, and those sand blasted bezels Inserts will be a trend setter
Your foray into the business of watch making is very inspiring. I’m currently in the works of having my first round of dial and bezel inserts printed for my own ultra micro brand project. Keep up the good work!
Hi Jody was really looking forward to seeing these watches but I’m gutted that the Batman version has a blue dial instead of a black one. The Coke and Pepsi versions look the best of the bunch for me. Hopefully I might grow to like the Batman version as that’s the one I had my eye on.
Very nicely done. I find it hard to judge watches properly without seeing them in person so i ll come along to the wind up fair next week. A fellow scot in nyc....
I’m almost convinced they’ll one day do a $1000 quartz watch with absolutely monster specs, a la the citizen chronomaster. I genuinely reckon that’s a bit of a goal for Jody.
Bravo Jody, you're doing some great work straight out of the traps. I think you're going to cut yourself a nice chunk out of the market due to the amount of care and attention to detail you are putting into the timepieces. I'm already looking forward to seeing the next one.
I have no actual use for a GMT complication, but man, that batman version looks fantastic. I bet these sell really well. Congratulations on the brand and good luck on the launch of your new watch!
Belter. Well done man. Loving the finish on the ceramic bezel. Any plans for a Batman bezel + white dial?? That would be an immediate wallet opener for me personally.
Hey Jody! First...love the design! You knocked it out of the park with the Origin and I love mine! And it's great that you omitted the '24' in favor of the inverted triangle on the bezel; definitely one of my bugbears on GMT watches. I see a lot of folks decrying the choice of the NH34 in the comments but I get it; it's a solid choice at a value price. That said I'll wait until you release the 9075 version. One thing you might consider adding is odd numeric indices on the chapter ring giving the wearer a third time zone capability but it's not a deal breaker. Cheers and I wish you success with it!
I love the way you've reproportioned the watch. The larger bezel looks fantastic. Can you please make this version with a dive bezel and no gmt hand? The larger bezel really does make a big difference to the way the watch looks.
These are terrific! The white Pepsi and the Batman are especially my favorites. And I personally prefer a caller GMT anyway. Thanks and great timing also… right before the 11.11 sale. 🤔😅
Good luck Jodi! Loved these GMT watches. Unfortunately my eyes and heart are already set on Wise's Miyota GMT. Ascent range is quite tempting too. Price ranges give excellent value for money.
You're killing me! lolz. Damn, these watches are just so dailed in - that's what is so amazing. I love mine...and looks like I'm going to be getting "another" GMT - except, this isn't going to be just another watch.
Really awesome watch release. Sometime after I got the original 41 origin, I was hoping a gmt version would come out. The bicolour bezels seem like no brainer for me. Since you mention possible myiota gmt in the future, and since I have a Seiko 5 gmt, I need to restrain myself and wait for that :D
Can't wait to see this and you at NYCWWWF next week! Although I did order the Purple version already! Against the steel bezel, that purple looks amazing.
Jody, look forward to meeting you at the NYC Wind Up Watch Fair. I hope you'll be there on Friday. I'm sure I'll be one of the thousands of people yelling "helllloooo" at you.
Ack, was really hoping to hear a 48 click bezel, but it's 24. With the NH34 and this bezel, there is no way to cleanly capture those half-hour time zones. Looks very nice regardless.
Great looking GMT. Personally I’d like to see the stainless steel bezel as an option on the different colour versions. Oh… and now you mention it a 39mm in titanium would be PERFECT 😂
Nice. I would like an Origin 38 without the date. This is because I like the smaller Origin and own a few watches that I wear in rotation. Having a date on a mechanical watch only makes sense to me if you wear it a lot continuously, otherwise you keep having to reset the date every time you wear it.
I really like what you did with the bezel insert. I has the looks of an alunimium but with lumed ceramics. Not a big fan of that glossy ceramic looks. This tones it down to match the dial. Good job right there
Holy smokes this watch is absolutely gorgeous. Clearly watch lovers designed it because it's got everything we like. Great job, I wish it huge success.
Holy crap , the watch looks incredible but i think it is really hard to nail down a good bracelet , that bracelet looks comfortable even from my laptop screen and i love the on the fly adjustment mechanism on the clasp.
Afraid I'm a GMT selfdenier but doesnt mean I cant rate them and I think your design does a good job of making the GMT standout without it having equal or dominence over the main hour hand.... and a special shout out for the Capt Sensible SS bezel insert... classic!
Hey Jody, congrats on another killer watch to add to the range. Since you added a new bracelet option for the Erebus 41, would you consider new options for the Ascent? I love mine on the J bracelet but a Grand Seiko style bracelet like on the SBGJ203, now that would be killer.
absolutely stunning watch! But i was wondering if there is going to be any restock of the ascent models. I was hoping to buy the black spiral but it seems i was a bit too hesitant about the decision since theyre all sold out now. Awesome video as always!
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
I soo want a decent timepiece and the Origin's design really does it for me. but still wondering if your ever planning on a, dare I say it a quartz version! As my watch wearing habbits lead to a set and forget quartz being a better fit for my lifestyle!
The color combo I wanted is not there!! Black dial with the red and blue bezel. Any chance this can be added to the range as I think it would potentially be your biggest seller? Love the look of the watches though and I can tell this will be of great quality as I already have an Origin and Ascent!
