Finally finished this knife! It has been a 4 month process. Started it in the fall of 2016, but winter came early and it was very cold as well my belt grinder broke. Also I started this knife a week after the video game Battlefield 1 came out and a month later I found the knife on youtube made by another youtuber! So I changed my plans a bit to make something a little more unique. The handle is walnut end grain, the blade is leaf spring steel ( 5160 ) ,the hilt is mild scrap and the sheath is kydex. Thanks for watching and check the links below!

Amazing video! Also, I think I recognized an acoustic version of The Song of the Dragonborn at the end, is that what it was?

Music too loud, I'd rather hear power tools or narration of what you were doing each step and why.. That's how I learn hearing you more experienced blacksmiths with your tips of the trade.. Good work buds..

Great Job!! One question; after tempering the spine, did you quench or allow to air cool? I've always been a little hazy in that area.
@xRoSkii
@xRoSkii 7 лет назад
Thanks! Air cool, but I made sure to keep the edge in water, ( I had a soaked wash cloth ) to not let that edge get any hotter.

Beautiful work! Love the bloopers at the end by the way. What chemical did you use to get that patina on the blade?

Thanks a bunch! Yea, figured I'd throw some in the video for fun hah. It's a special compound that I should be making a video about soon possibly. Basically some vinegar and etching solution.

It looked like it worked perfectly. I would like to see a video on it, I think that'll be interesting to see how quick it works.
