Forging a mini katana from a 36 inch Ridgid pipe wrench. The hook jaw of this pipe wrench was damaged and I decided to give it a new life has a katana sword. I managed to forge this sword on a 55 pound grizzly anvil with a homemade forge.

Seems like a while since I’ve last seen just a genuine build from someone and not something just for likes or views.

I been watching a lot of blacksmithing videos and I'd have to say your my favorite. A man's man of blacksmithing ! No bullshit no running around doing cartwheels and screaming like alec Steele ( that guy is bat shit crazy) . You make stuff out of stuff we all have in our garages now I said stuff not junk like some of the other blacksmiths do .you make good quality usable stuff we'd all would like to have and make . Alec Steele uses expensive Steel exotic woods with extremely expensive equipment stuff that the average man will never ever be able to obtain . You work out of a shed and your anvil room has a dirt floor while Alex Steele has thousands of dollars is lighting and cameras and I cant even put a price tag on his equipment but yet you do just as good or better than him . ( good old American ingenuity) so keep on hammering steel and we'll keep on watching .

FordFracture alec steele uses simple carbon steels and wood you can buy at a lumber mill.

lock picker really I live in the second largest city in America and I cant find zebra wood or black African wood unless I order it so get your fucking shit straight and I can tell your a alec Steele lover and that ok if you like stupid shit like running around and yelling like a 5 year old .
@lockpicker7964
@lockpicker7964 6 лет назад
FordFracture with a quick search of exotic hardwood near me i found 2 stores in my area that supply both woods that you just said you couldn't find. You trying to insult someone about a simple statement made is dumb. Like a 5 year old id say.

I would suggest rounding out the horn of that anvil and then beating your steel on the curve to draw out the steel. Something about the curve pulls the steel out more and allows you to draw easier. Or just go find a farrier shop and buy a decent farrier anvil for 300-500 bucks and draw your steel out on a proper horn.

You “managed” to forge it on a 55lb Grizzly anvil and a homemade forge? I’ve seen lots of your vids and you’ve proven with your determination, skill and enthusiasm you could forge on a piece of cardboard with a marble. I love vids like yours that show you don’t need a $15k shop to forge, the toys are nice but attitude is more important.

That a bad ass piece man but, if you would've made the whole blade it's edge those cuts would've been so clean that while the blade was on it's way to the target you would've cut a fly in two. Bad ass none the less.
