Beauty. To prep your tang for the scales. Do you just hammer flat as best you can or is there surface grinding? Beauty work, love this brute du forge style
I just started forging. What surprised me wasi can only do about 20 hammer strikes before the metal gets cold and has to be reheated. Also surprised at how much exertion swinging that hammer is at 58 yrs old
That's awesome, it is a great craft to get into. I had the same problem when I first started out and I was only 38. It will get easier the longer you do it, especially if your able to do it consistently. I appreciate you watching!
I toss it in a bucket to use on future projects, I like to challenge myself and see what kind of knife I can forge out of the smaller left overs. I appreciate you watching.
It's pretty heavy, but I fully agree with your comment, to cut through bone consistiently it would need a much more blunt grind and need a little more weight out towords the end. It could probably handle chicken bones and regular boneless bulk processing but not beef bones. I appreciate you checking it out and leaving feedback.
