Done with a project i've wanted to do for a long time really cool to hold and see done very happy with it despite a few issues from my lack of experience. this project took place over a few months you can see my old forge burner vs my new burner when the color of the heat changes my grinder before i got my belt grinder

Wouldn’t it be better to pound it out with an 8 lb sledge?

Yes but A few reasons why I use smaller hammers is because I don’t have a striker to effectively use a larger hammer and my anvil is only 70 lbs a mis strike or to hard of a hit on the heel or horn could break it also this works just takes more time now that I use a ribbon burner and it gets hotter it’s actually pretty easy to move with a 4 pounder
