Special Note from Kallista:
Healing the wounds from sexual trauma is only something the Lord can do for us. However, it is also equally important to ensure that offenders are held legally accountable for their behavior to protect others from being violated. According to a retired officer of SAPD (former investigator for child and adult sexual abuse cases), he's confident that about "99% of sexual offenders are repeat offenders throughout their lifetime." His expertise in the field helped me make an informed decision to take legal action against my abuser so that no other person(s) would be put at risk by my silence.
If you are someone who has been affected by sexual abuse I encourage you to hold your abuser legally accountable. Whether the assault occurred years ago or recently, you can always refer to your state's statutes of limitations for more information. Praying for your peace and total closure. -Kallista
