Derek, that episode brings back a lot of memories. I turned 16 in 1968, and my dad had bought a brand new 1967 Pontiac and the 67 and 68 were almost identical. The color of that one looked identical to my dad`s car and yes they were a boat compared to today's cars. Thank you, Derek, for the memories, I`m 71 now crippled, and live in a bedroom at my son`s place now, my wife has passed away a little over 8 years ago, and our first date was in that 67 Pontiac. Writing this one out made my eyes do a little leaking.

Awesome to see him and his family grow to where they are now with the massive garage and lift. Derek’s mannerisms are what make it so fun to watch. My dad had big GM's since the time I was a little guy and started hanging around watching him doing his own garage maintenance. I learned a lot about the GM V-8s through all those years. Dad had a '60 Buick 225, '60 Pontiac Ventura, '62 Pontiac Catalina, '64 Pontiac Bonneville, '64 Olds 98, '70 Pontiac Bonneville, and '73 Olds 98. At about that time I left home but he continued with big GM's and then switched to Lincolns in the '90s onward.

The only way to improve this would be to fix it out away from his home yard where everything is. I like the 500 miles from nowhere, middle of a field, limited tools and parts revivals. That's the primo content.

My father started at Pontiac just after WW2. He was working on some kind of anti aircraft gun as they hadn’t transitioned back to building cars then. Grew up on Columbia across the street from the school. He had a maroon 68 Catalina then 73 and 75 Bonnevilles. There was four houses between where I grew up and the train yard and the plant.

Was just in a car wreck last night, Mother and I ended up going to the hospital. While waiting to see what's going to happen and make sure we're alright I pulled out my phone and to help calm down to get some sense back in life, knowing your antics I was delighted when I found this video. Very chill and enjoyable to watch. Been a fan for a while now but just wanted to say thanks and keep it up. Fyi, we're banged up pretty good and the car is scrap but were going to be alright. Thanks again and maybe in the future we could see big engine in the smallest car you have?

I bought a '68 Catalina for 200 bucks. It had this same engine but a two barrel carb. It was a great car. I took a 25 inch color console TV to the repair shop and didn't even have to tie the trunk lid down. Just set the TV in the trunk and closed the like lol.

Almost 'same here' except mine was a '63. I bought it in 1965 when I was 18 and really loved the car,, BUT it was a 'Land Yacht' and all my buddys were driving Tri 5 Chevs and late '50's early Fords so I traded it in on a brand new '70 340/Torqueflight Dodge Dart. I liked my Dart but never forgot (even to this day at 76 yrs 'ol) how much I 'loved' that big ol gold on gold, 389ci Bonneville.

That 68 Pontiac is in AMAZING condition! The exterior and interior are gorgeous! It sounds good, looks good, what an amazing car! I think this one deserves a nice set of tires and wheels and new exhaust and AC! You, Jessica and the little humans could really get a lot of enjoyment out of this one. My brother-in-law had a 67 this same color back in the day and it was a runner. I loved the vertical headlights on that one, but this 68 is definitely a keeper!

Me too had a 67 Catalina, (bronze w/black interior} good ol' 'Wide-track' 400, there's not a car since that I loved more than it. Changed out the big steering wheel for a smaller 'race-type' Dad laughed his ass off till he drove it and asked me why? Dad I said the other was just too clunky. Wonder if Derek would sell me this one?
