Whoever was building that must be crying every day. The workmanship in that house looks pretty darn good. That house looks SO close to being done. Just imagine running out of $$$ that close to being done.
Ethan if this video was 2 hours long I would've still watch the whole thing!! Do not apologize of being in awe of this gorgeous mansion. I bet all of us would have the exact same reaction lol I cannot imagine the devastation of the owner not being able to finish the dreamy house. Months, perhaps years of planning gone down the drain. So so sad!!!
@@bettyhamm1 why should they get a free home???? They wouldn't be able to take care of it, clean it, and clearly you do not understand the land appraisal impact that would have for thr surrounding area homes.
@@vickibaker8372 what the hell most homeless people would love and appreciate a roof over their heads! They are only dirty due to lack of being able to be any other way or Illness. That's a horrible way to think of the less fortunate !
This is my favorite home this far. I love this house. It's a shame that it's not finished. I couldn't imagine having that much money tied into a home I couldn't have finished and live in. This is amazing and I enjoyed the walk through. Its breath taking.
If somebody can buy this house, he or she will also have the means to finish it and decorate it with furniture curtains wall art etc. There are of course as many ways to do it as people in this world. Some would hire a professional decorator others would do it entirely themselves. Me? I would raid IKEA 😃 Easy, affordable and funny. And the food in the restaurant is usually very good. As for the electricity water and other expenses I wouldn't bother. If I can buy this house, I can also pay the bills 😎😁
When youre this rich you don't have to worry about any of that. You can hire your own private 24/7 security, plenty of rich people do that. And like the person above said, you can have live-in staff such as maids, cooks, lawn carer, etc. Real world problems aren't a problem to people who live like this.
@@elainemarten2147 if you see nothing wrong with this picture something is wrong with you. Duh they can and will pay staff to clean and do maintenance. the point is the house is excessive for no reason. They likely don't or didn't have 10-20 kids or other family to put in this house.
Dude, Freaktography did a vid of this place -made me really appreciate yours! You give us time to look at things, point out details and just do a really good job on your commentary. You go into the rooms, closets, drawers, check out doors, everything. He kept on saying, "This is gonna be fast." Just glanced into rooms, no rhyme or reason. So kudos to you, you may be young but you know what interests people in these places and you present it very well. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, I truly wish I could be there myself!
The floors alone are breathtaking! That central staircase! Amazing! Total mystery as to why it’s not finished! The power & water are on, the interior looks new. Beautiful home!
I love how you continue walking as you're giving a tour because that's how you can really tell how big these mansions are. When you stand in a room to look at statues, wood work, etc., you lose the feeling of how big it truly is. This house is so massive, UNREAL!!!! Truly stunning!!
This would make a lush bed and breakfast. All sleek and modern. The family could live in the basement and use the rest of the home as the bed and breakfast.
I am having a panic attack watching this! I would get so lost in it, and so overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for it. I guess if you can afford this type of house, you can afford a staff to care for it. Still having a panic attack!
My daughters friend is a realtor, she said she’s seen many multi million dollar homes built and finished them, but they can’t afford to furnish them. Many are empty.
It looks like someone is taking care of it. Lights and water on, no cobwebs or dust. Looks like a dumpster and construction machinery outside in flash of one window. The nailed off door is probably an elevator shaft.
Your videos are fantastic! The excitement you show and detail you offer are highly entertaining. I too love ‘60s to ‘80s homes but every once in a while you showcase a real outta have property that amazes us all! Thank you!
cat wilk I have no idea who the owners of this new home are or why the construction of this home was not fully completed. That being said, my relatives live nearby and they knew the previous owners of this property who had a different house on this lot that was demolished back in the fall of 2012. The mansion that was previously on this property was actually ALSO ABANDONED from 2009-2012...That May be hard to believe but it’s actually true, and I’m shocked to see that the new house has become neglected like the previous one was...The old mansion was almost as big as this one is, although it was definitely more low key and on a lesser scale than the new one. This is NOT CONFIRMED but there is a rumour about the previous owners which explains why there house was abandoned for three years. The previous owners had allegedly fled Canada because the feds in the United States 🇺🇸 were after them for an undisclosed reason, and as a result had to leave their home in Canada behind. Apparently they fled to either the Bahamas or the Philippines, to avoid being sent to. Prison in the USA 🇺🇸 ...The previous home had CAMERAS literally EVERYWHERE that covered every square inch of that whole property...All of these homes have high tech cameras, but nowhere NEAR to the extent that these people did...I explored the old home in the summer of 2012 and the inside was actually in decent shape, but felt way more creepy than this house does. The grounds were fucked , they had gigantic weeds growing through the driveway, and the grass looked like it hadn’t been cut in YEARS...It was super weird initially, but over the past eight years I’ve seen this sort of thing happen to many more homes in this neighbourhood, and it’s a colossal fucking tragic waste...You can see the previous mansion on GOOGLE street views...The place looked fine in 2009, but once you move over to 2011 you can see the house and grounds both started to look overgrown as well as run down...
Oh yeah such a waste. Im a finish carpenter, and these type of stupid greedy people employ a lot of people to build these homes. I agree they are stupid with their money but at least some people get to work. Work is good.
@Christine Herrington How? Practically how? This is a question that I've pondered. OK so you've got a 2 or 3 million, and instead of putting a deposit down on a mansion like this you decide to help the homeless instead. Now assuming that you're the type of person who would build a house like this you're probably working 65 to 80 hours a week building at least one company. So walking the streets searching for homeless people to help is out of the question. So how do you make any impact at all with such a small contribution and no time?
@Christine Herrington Not really. It's only a 7 bed, so you'd get 3, max 4, flats out of it, with extensive redevelopment of the common areas. It would probably cost over $600k just for the Reno assuming you could get permission. Then someone would still have to pay for services and maintenance of the communal areas and grounds.
This world has been deceived with this “jesus” LIE, let me explain YaH The Heavenly FATHER was Who they Crucified for our sins and “HERE IS THE PROOF” From the Ancient Semitic Scroll: "Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote in Exodus 3, when Moses asked YaH His Name HERE IT IS, IN HIS OWN HANDWRITING Ancient Semitic Direct Translation Yad - "Behold The Hand" He - "Behold the Breath" Vav - "Behold The Nail"
@@Praise___YaH you are wrong the devil is real, he deceived everyone by not thinking he's real. When my son was 21yrs old He was in a near fatal car accident in coma 20days. Fast forward to 5 months we watched the true story of is Heaven Real and the part when they showed Jesus picture my son said he just got the chills and pointed at the t.v. and said that's him he was there with grandma and his friend Kassie. He met Jesus, so stop being brainwashed by the devil. Jesus is waiting on people to wake up.
This house was just unreal! I can’t even imagine owning something this spectacular. There is just so much to this home & to have it unfinished is such a shame. Obviously it has been protected from vandalism & one can only hope that it can be be finished one of these days so that the designer/owner’s dream can be brought to life. Great job Ethan capturing it’s “pre glory” 👍
It just kills me seeing these beautiful houses cuz there's so many people homeless at this time. Like me who would appreciate just a closet space to live in lol. A throw away society...
Most of Keyboard warriors should give their spare rooms to squatters. Look other videos about abandoned places: Poverty is not an excuse for vandalism.
Sense the electricity and water are still working I honestly don’t think that house is abandoned. They probably either stopped building or slowed down the building or postponed it because of the Corona virus. That house looks too new and still being worked on to even be abandoned.
@@lorriepriddle8604 calm down, he is always respectful and never discloses the area. I see your point but he said he had done research and knew it was abandoned.
@@rockycunningham1078 Oh I'm sure whom ever owns this just didn't walk away from this. Also how did he get in??? Nobody just walked away kept the electric & water on! Somebody owns this & probably doesn't want you there! Notice there's still ladders etc in the house?¿???
I agree…someone is paying the electric and water bills, even if not being used. Also note…no dust anywhere! And a billionaire is not going to run out of money to finish! My boyfriend is a multi millionaire…and he wouldn’t even run out of money to finish this!
Holy cow, that master bathroom is bigger than my entire apartment! Don't know where this house is, but it sure reminds me of a house some people I know were building, but in the middle of it, he got caught cheating, and now, they're divorcing; her husband was a professional MLB player and now works for Fox Sports doing play-by-play for the Cardinals. I haven't heard yet what is happening with their house yet, but I imagine it will go on sale. Nice tour, Ethan!
You’re doing a fantastic job showing these homes. You’re one of my favorites. If anyone wants to complain just ignore them. Your great at what you do. Thank you so very much ❤
So after a little research, about 5 minutes worth, the house has not been abandoned since 2012. The property has only been on the market since Feb 27, 2020. It's likely that construction was halted at some point towards the end of 2019. It is currently on the market for $17.9 million.
Funny. But generally cat people don't live in mansion like these. They're more for dog people. I've been in a few similar houses and can't ever remember seeing a cat walking around any of them. Dogs, yes, but never a cat. It's weird, but that seems to be how it is.
Thanks Ethan and all the other explores who show us these beautiful homes. We would never be able to see them if not for you guys. Very much appreciated. It's just sad so many of them get sold and torn down. What a waste. Thanks for saving there memory on video. Keep the mansions coming.
Ethan, that staircase is absolutely breathtaking! I love those kind of staircases. It would make a grand entrance for a bride and groom to be walking down those staircases, oh, how lovely that would be, just dreaming! But wouldn't that be nice? Thank again.
One of my sisters made that comment about coming down the staircase as a bride when she saw inside the house of the person she was buying a puppy from.
@@stevenkaskus6173 I believe you and your sister. I think that, that would be soo cool. Especially that beautiful staircase love it. It is such a beautiful mansion inside and out. Thanks for commenting. Have a good night.
The main entrance staircase in this house reminds me of staircases in Classical movies. By the way, Classical movies are my fav, so this house brings out many different eras in it’s modern form. A genius design!
@@kennethwallace4338 no. It would be closer to 1000$. the average cost to heat or cool a new home of 2000sq.ft. is about 125-150$. My moms 6000sq.ft. house built in the 80s costs about 400$ per month.
With about 14KW of solar on the roof and 6 PowerWalls the bill would be virtually zero or negative. Assuming this is in Florida. Edit: It's in Canada, so you'd probably need to push that to 16KW.
Omg 😳 this frustrates me, I can’t understand why a person couldn’t keep budget to keep building, what a waste😡 this house is breathtaking, love your videos Ethan but this one is mind boggling 😱 just WOW. Thanks for this remarkable journey 🥰🥰🥰
a lot of times the builder is the reason houses are never finished, they bleed the money right out of your bank account at an alarming rate. they promise this for this price but then turn around and tell you that the cost of materials have gone up or they no longer can get certain items and you'll have to go with the closest one they can find at a much higher price.
Honestly, who needs that much living space? Beautiful staircases and windows but some of it looks very formal, like offices/conference rooms. Thanks for taking us through it, it was cool....👍👍👏👏
It would not be unusual (in some private sectors) for someone with that level of wealth to have office, and staff facilities at their home. Treat them like satellite offices from corporate
You are the man Ethan!! Glad too see you aren’t letting negative people ruin your day! Here’s my take on a few things. First, so many people keep commenting that you are trespassing. Well let’s say that this is true, why should they even care, let alone make negative comments? You didn’t get to 10k subscribers by accident, you earned them by being an explorer for all these years! No one is forcing any of these people too subscribe to your channel, let alone watch your videos. Apparently they like what they see, otherwise they’d just unsubscribe and go about their business. Second, a YT’er must interact with his viewers, or why even have a channel to begin with? So to the people who say you talk too much, they know how to unsubscribe. Third, people obviously don’t read any of the comments, or they’d figure out you have been saying that this place is in Canada for the millionth time, as you won’t reveal the actual street address, which is totally understandable! Also, most every exploration channel I’m either subscribed to and/or watched, the majority of them sneak into places to film either abandoned or empty places, whether it be a home or business. So many of the top YT urban explorers all sneak into places, otherwise you’d never have videos to watch of abandoned places. YT’ers like Dan Bell, Aces Adventures, The Proper People, etc..., all sneak into most places to film, so good for you on not letting that negativity bother you! If they get caught, 9 times out of 10, they are just asked to leave, as I’ve never heard of an urban explorer being arrested for filming an abandoned place!! Keep up the awesome job my brother!!
Thank you for this walk thru! I have never been inside a house so massive. Even though it wasn’t finished you could use your imagination how you would love to see it finished so cool. I wouldn’t or couldn’t think about cleaning all those bathrooms. Imagine they would have it done or take all day just to clean them. Lol just gorgeous this mansion!?Thanks again for the opportunity to enjoy!❤
Its more likely the general contractor building it was skimming extra money and cutting corners and the appraiser for the bank decided the house would not be worth its estimated value when finished and the bank then stops giving money out and the person holding the loan has to sue the builder. Meanwhile the house could sit empty and unfinished for years until its settled in court at which time the bank will auction it of and write off the loss

Speaking as a commercial electrician a residential home having a dedicated Room for electrical and HVAC Is pretty noteworthy all on its own!! Awesome videos BTW this one is more tame for me since this looks like what I work in near the end of a project
This house is crazy. The size of it is crazy, would definitely get lost in there. For construction supplies to still be in there too is ridiculous. Staircase is amazing too!
A billionaire build a massive home up on a small Mountain near my house a realtor up here said he only stays in it a few weeks out of the year for residency can't imagine having that much money another high-end car you didn't mention is the McLaren good looking car about 250k

Love how everyone speculates. This is an amazing place for the right people or purpose. If you get an update, you should let us know.
Probably people who lives beyond their means ...or I heard of a wealthy man that built a house like that for his wife , then she died and the gorgeous house was left unfinished .
Well! Ethan! This was an amazing and exciting find!! Don't ever apologize! I was as blown away as you were!!! Sad it just sits there not finished!! Difficult to believe someone who was building this size home would "run out of money"!!! And to think; they couldn't have taken into account the cost to furnish and staff this house after it was completed, let alone the taxes and maintenance, is mind boggling!! You just can't fix stupid! Thanks so much Ethan! Great work!

I could. Lol I was thinking, there is the craft room, the bowling alley, spa room, media room, game room, indoor kids playroom w/jungle gym and bounce house, gym, dance room, piano/music room, outdoor kitchen. This is my dream house.

All of the showers are exceptional in size. Large & tile work fantastic! So sad someone had to drop their dream house, because of loose budgeting practice.😢 Ethan u are just plan a genius at discovering places, then touring them with you skilled talent! Keep it up!!!🎉❤😊
Totally agree!! In Australia (these days anyway), they say to prepare for every regular house build to go $15,000 over budget (& that’s when you have full insurance for if supplies get stolen or vandalised ect)... For a house this size & extravagant, God knows how much over budgeting you should prepare for but I’d say probably at least the cost of what a regular house would be 😅😅 ... I’m assuming people are only told to prepare for huge over budgeting during house builds these days cause of the mistakes people made in the past so it’s definitely possible when building this monster of a house, they way underestimated the cost rather than overestimating it to be safe & it’s also possible they had no insurance & supplies got stolen and/or vandalised so bumped the cost up even more till they had no money left (my parents had 3 whole slabs of expensive retaining wall bricks made from natural sandstone, plus all our taps & fittings & our whole front door all stolen off site when they were building my childhood home so it definitely happens, a house build is like a gold mine to thieves😅😅, luckily my parents had full insurance but still cost them a few grand extra to pay the excess on the insurance cause it wasn’t all done at once, crazy stuff happens when building😅)... However, I totally agree & anyone building anything should always way over budget so they’re definitely safe & anything left over would feel like a huge prize at the end too, can’t go wrong over budgeting that’s for sure!! 😂😂
I've been enjoying your videos. Can't fathom having the money to build those. A lifestyle that's a level we're not used to. But boy is it fun to see what they look like. Kind of sad they went over their budget. Hope someone buys it and completes it. All my siblings and families could live in there!
I could imagine this house finished, decorated, furnished with people living in it and turning the property into a horse ranch. It's so beautiful!! Thank you for bringing us along, I love picturing these abandoned houses as lived in.. except a few that look haunted 👻 LoL 👻
To quote Audrey fforbes-Hamilton, “...how very vulgar...”. As the saying goes, “...rich roars, wealth whispers.” These folks may have been rich, but certainly not wealthy. Wealth would not have run out of money, nor would they have embarked on such an “impress the guests” venture in the first place. There’s something ineffably sad about so much wasted effort - a house that will never be a home - and that so much work went into something that will never be put to the use it was meant for. When did the construction cease?
This is quite impressive😳 Too bad they didn’t finish it! It seems like they got carried away with expensive finishes. Maybe if they had made a smaller house with the fancy touches they could’ve finished it!
I always associated the rich to be gifted with superior intelligence for acquiring wealth. But so many of new money wealthy piss it away like a 6 year old..
What a total waste to start that and not have the budget to finish. It’s definitely an amazing house - especially the galleried windows and landing. Who on earth can afford or need so much space? It would be more suited to a hotel rather than a domestic home. Great tour fella
I loved this video ! I’ve been watching various channels of these types of shows all day and this was the best one by far , thank you for showing you everything you could !
