CHECK OUT THE ORIGINAL TRAILER HERE:
• Forgotten Bloodlines: ...
Agate Springs is a fossil bed in northwest Nebraska that dates back to 20 million years ago. It was once home to a wide variety of amazing and bizarre creatures like a relative of horses that walked on claws instead of hooves and the massive bison sized entelodont known as Daeodon.
And we now have a window of opportunity to experience these animals with a level of detail that has not been possible since the Miocene! But that window is closing fast!
Forgotten Bloodlines: Agate is a documentary that is currently being worked on by a dedicated team of animators who are hard at work to give some much needed spotlight to this criminally under represented time from paleo media.
But the catch is, that even with Nigel Marven narrating, this project is not being funded by any major production company. This is a privately funded campaign on Kickstarter. They have already gotten about 2/3 of the way their but they need help to achieve the final goal by the time it ends on March 23, 2023!
I know a huge amount of my subscribers want more coverage in Paleo media than just Cretaceous Dinosaurs and Pleistocene Mammals! Many of you say it to me all the time! Well, this is the chance to get what we want. But it can't happen without the support of the community!

I gave $70 to this project. I am incredibly impressed at what they managed to create by a small group of people and no large funding. The animation looks like stuff that was reserved for $100 million dollar movies just a couple of decades ago. I hope this is finished and I look forward to seeing my name in the credits

I am from Nebraska, and have been to Agate Fossil Beds many times. It's an absolutely amazing place. I've also been to the bad land he mentioned. Much further east we have another fossil bed called the Ashfall Fossil Beds. It is a location where many animals were gathered around a water hole when a volcano far to the west blew it's top, entombing the animals in ash right where they stood. The interesting thing there is that all the animals preserved there were preserved in their entirety and fully articulated. It gives us the clearest look into that time in prehistory that we have, and has made us re-evaluate what we think the species which were found there looked. Nebraska is a great state to visit if you are interested in palaeontology. There are many places to go fossil hunting, and if you like canoeing, kayak touring or just plain floating down a river, the cut banks of the state's rivers and the sandbars there are loaded with fossils if you take the time to look for them. I personally have found several dozen mammoth teeth in rivers and along the banks. I ask all of you to support the Forgotten Bloodlines Agate project. It promises to be a truly wonderful look into that part of North America's past. Give a little or give a lot and they'll reach their goal.

in reality the only pleistocene mammals to get some love in documentaries are those from the mammoth's steppe. A documentary about humans arrival in south America or Australia would shake the conception a lot of people have of the late pleistocene (AKA prehistory).

Totally went on kickstarter and donated $100 because I want to see this one through! This period of Earth's paleo history has always been my favorite. For me, it's because these animals look like present day mammals but are still so unique that they give us an idea of how we got to the animals we see today. Mammals took a really long time to become the dominant creatures on this planet, and their journey has always fascinated me. I would watch every single episode of this series!

Forgotten Bloodlines is a perfect title, since Cenozoic fossil beds such as Agate Springs are massively under-represented in modern media. I remember being a kid back in the 80s, and my library had books with all these weird and wonderful animals that nobody ever talked about. Daeodon was always a particular favorite of mine. I hope this documentary sees the light of day, since it is much needed.

Engagement boost + ENTELODONTS! I love those things, absolutely crazy beasts of animals. Question, cause I can't seem to find an answer anywhere: why're we sure the cheeks protruded? Aren't they relatively closely-related to hippos, which also have protrusions on their skulls? But hippos' protrusions are for muscular reasons, and they don't have jutting out bits on their fleshy faces.
