The King Kong one was pretty cool, I’d definitely set that up in my room. The Burger King guy Mego was kinda creepy though, just as creepy the mid-2000’s commercials with the Burger King guy in costume.
True weird action figure-sitcom crossover play: I'm at my cousin's house, and we're playing with her toys. Jo (Kristy McNichol) punched out Blair (Barbie) as Mrs. Garrett (Glenda the Good Witch) looked on in shock.
One thing I will never understand is how MEGO thought every boy wanted to strip his action figures to make them naked. Luckily that was ended by the late 70s.
That Batvan. :) When you're on vacation, but you still fight crime. 🦇 I had the MEGO Spider-Man car when I was little kid. I'd like to have that again. 🎵Lord have mercy, Jaws has got his blue jeans on🎵 Thanks for the video
@@ThatJunkman Awsome. :) Whose parents was it in comment section that said their parents saw him at Sears buying a shirt, and then saw him wearing it at the concert later that night? :)
4:41 There's no way I'm sleeping with that thing in my bed. Remember those Burger King commercials where that one guy wakes up with Burger King lying next to him, staring at him like a creepy stalker? No, thank you.
@That Junkman Not all of those toys were made by MEGO. And the only thing I remember "Aquaman" tangling with in the comics were villains like (Black Manta, Human Flying Fish and Ocean Master). When in the Hell did he ever fight a “Trout”? Which is a freshwater Fish, "Aquaman" lives in the Ocean.
The version I heard as a kid was " KING Kong plays ping pong in Hong Kong with a rubber ding dong. Same time I learned Tarzan's a naked man hanging from a rubber band, he don't care, he don't swear, he don't wear no underwear.
I don't know about a Wizard of Oz playset, but I wish they'd have done a Zardoz playset; a big, giant plastic head that comes with a figure of Sean Connery in a big orange diaper.
The wind up tin robot would be fun to scale up to 6 feet and have half inch plates on it and use it and a target in the back field for plinking. Hek half a dozen full size just wandering the property at night to keep unwanted guest away.
The LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY action figures were meant to be 8-inch and that would have matched the HAPPY DAYS line, but for some odd reason, they decided to make the 9-inch, but the head sculpts had already been done before the size change. As a result, they blew those sculpts up for the larger size and distorted faces and heads were the result. Cindy Williams personally told me when she and Penny Marshall saw them they were shocked and horrified.
@@ThatJunkman Then, Mego had the rights to do a GREASE action figure line for 1979 and though a release sheet with mock-up examples of the four main characters was made, retailers rejected it. Even after the film was an insanely huge hit, still no figures and they were even going to take the HAPPY DAYS JALOPY and turn into the Grease Lightning racer. If you can find out more, that would be a valuable video to do.
Some of your selections were not megos. SWAT was made by LJN. ;) I did get the Batvan for Christmas back then. It was a great toy and I have many adventures with it and my other megos. The segment with Kristy McNichol was HILARIOUS!!!
Just started following, do you have some info on that toys r us store custom or model you have in the background. Also cant stop picturing some kid on a bmx trying to ramp into a dumpster and smacking his head..so funny
I had the Spider-Man car. I still have my Spider-Man and it is sitting right here on the shelf in my living room. And don't give me any grief but my mother bought me the Wizard of Oz figures but not the playset at least. 👍👍👍🙂
Mego Man looks like a knock off of Ideals, Mr Machine. Jaws from Moonraker was cool, thou it wasn't the only Mego figure with jeans. The Starsky and Hutch Mego figures had jeans.
Loved the video definitely wanted to see what other stuff mego did mostly because I want to hunt down used mego marvel and dc figures from the 70s it’s not going to be easy 🙂
I like Donna Summers music. For a long time I thought I must be gay because everyone kept telling me liking disco songs means you're gay. Later I found out being gay meant something else. I had to entirely rethink my identity. 🤷♀️
I just respected Geeks n Gamer's 100xs more now Pisses me off that Dan/Toy Galaxy is talking about politics now. That's BS! I disagree with him 100%,. he's basically saying what a lot of liberals are saying: " were gonna vote for the worse party, just to spite Trump. Im not unsubscribing from Toy Galaxy cuz I disagree with him ( id never do that, and I'd be a fn hypocrite) it's cuz he's involving the toy community with politics. Screw him .. not even the Junkman does politics here. Lol
That was weird to see pop up, so I had to check it out and actually watched a “Geek that Gamer kid” video to see what was going on. I am glad that Toy Galaxy stuff has run through most of the shows toys etc I enjoy so it does not come up in my feed as much anymore (I have not clicked on episodes in awhile so it disappeared for me anyway). I think it would bug me watching a video of his now and I would instead imagine him lecturing me on what a bad person I am as I do not agree to follow party line no matter what. Full disclosure I am not a democrat, am registered independant, but I don’t think either “choice” we have this year is much better than the other, both have their flaws. When I see what some third party stuff does in other countries that having another option seems to be just as precarious as just having two dimwits to vote for. If these idiots could run the country better, we could go back to having more enjoyment when Ol’ Junk Man puts out new videos, and not have to wonder if we could be using time watching that video towards making our lives a touch better due to any number of factors. Ok, whining over, I had none of these as a kid. Mego stuff was probably a bit too old for me then. My first more detailed toys besides hit wheels was Star Wars figures.
It's not politics when one political party no longer plays by the rules. Now is the time to speak up -which you just have. Before you speak up anymore, read Project 2025 and see if you still agree.
@@ThatJunkman now is not the time to be joking. Now is the time to realize we are in an existential crisis. Both candidates are old. One candidate is for Democracy. One candidate is telling you he's going to be a dictator. He is literally telling you. It's in your best interest to speak out against the convicted felon, business fraud, authoritarian, Junkman. It's in your kids' best interest, too.
@@ThatJunkman I don't know where my prior reply went. It's happened before, I think it's RU-vid. Junkman, you gave voice to the guy at the beginning in his support of Trump. You sided against the guy who opposes Trump. I don't know if that's intentionally a dog whistle, but the dogs are listening. It's funny, because I could see you and Dan hanging out. I can see Trump making fun of the way you talk. I'll just leave this here: ru-vid.comKQ2kaCpe0Dw
