It seems a lot of people are very interested in antique bottles and relics but may have the wrong impression. The hobby can appear easy as the videos are usually combined days in multiple creeks or locations. What makes a 10 minute video is hours and hours of work. That’s why I think it is important to throw scouting videos in to show what we do to find new areas! I hope y’all enjoy these even though we may not find the holy grail! It is all part of the journey and never forget the real treasure is in the adventure!

Great video. Man out west those air shafts get up to 100 feet across and you can’t see them till you walk up in them bushes grow around the edge and they look like any part of the desert. People on dirt bikes have gone over hills and straight down into them. There is a couple kids are still in one because they couldn’t ever get them out. Look up Nelson Nevada .

@@adventurearchaeology actually good, because this has been outlawed not just for the cruel treatment of the turtle which should be enough, but because children were putting the little creatures in their mouths and getting e-coli illness from it!

Brandon, Child labor is a real dark side to the industrial age, 5- and 6-year-old working 12-hour shifts is criminal. IT's good for people to see what really goes into making a video, they ought to see all the editing and uploading time. It may be interesting but it's WORK! Cheers, Rik Spector

Brandan, I enjoyed this video a lot. As you have a lot of history about it. The creek water was so clear ( sad there wasn’t much there) but learning about these mind shafts n those deep holes is scary. Interesting about the child labor at that mill. I had no idea about this. Women n young daughters working from 6 am to 6 pm just blows my mind. Was this a coal mine mill? I love the great information you give. ♥️♥️😊👍👍

Getting ready to head to the Steele County MN Free Fair in a few hours. I enjoy visiting the home improvement salesmen, listening to their assurances that Product X is suitable to Task 1, then explaining to them that either their own specs disallow such use our it is contrary to code. I'm just shitty that way. A few years ago a little girl lost control of her show animal and I was unexpectedly taken to the ground by a runaway swine. I don't think the salesmen were involved.

That's so sad and horrible what the children and women had to endure in the industrial era 😔. My granddaughter is 5, I couldn't imagine having my young child being sent to work for the family to survive. This wasn't work with that mill, it was straight up a work prison 🤨. Hey, this will be a different request. My wife is instructor at a major university in NC, teaching freshman English. She also combines some history in her teaching, since she is not political correct. That lump of coal that you found, I want that lump of coal for her classes, nearly 100% of her students have never seen much less touch a piece of coal. 'Bama is one state that she doesn't have a sample from. Got her pieces from PA, OH, KY, TN, WVA and NC. You would be amazed at how a simple piece of coal tying it into early American English/Colonial draws more interest to her teaching. Remember, these kid have no idea about coal other than it damages the environment. Sure would like to have that lump of coal from her classes. will pay shipping, etc to have it,

They do a fairly good job here in Arizona of covering up the mine shafts for safety, but unfortunately some get uncovered due to age, weather and vandalism. I found bricks from Glasgow Scotland dated 1878 here. I found some Hutchs in this dump from our mill here. Machine shop scraps abound and I've found the oldest coins of my life, 1872 Quarter, 1883 Nickel....I find a lot of coal here, blacksmiths probably. It was probably brought from Washington State or Queensland Australia. Inter-Island Steam Navigation sold it commercially. The company became Hawaiian Airlines in 1940.
