VOODOO DOLL FOUND!?! AND VERY RARE ANTIQUE BOTTLE WHILE SEARCHING FOR RIVER TREASURE!
Searching for Alabama history in local rivers and creeks has become my new favorite hobby! Nothing beats the summer heat like a little river treasure!!! I find something that I didn't want to and decided to put it back where I found it!

Seems pretty new. The fabric would have been really corroded. I'm guessing it's likely folk art. There are ways to tell what type of fabric that is--ie cotton/linen/polyester blend. You can date it by its content. I'd not throw it away but find someone interested in textiles to give it a look.

If it's a voodoo doll, it's the cutest one I've seen 😊 my thought is folk art..holes may be where other things were attached with hot glue like little flowers or trinkets. Maybe even where the doll was attached to a wooden piece for display.

I had a bilateral lung transplant. I took both modernas and will take the booster today. I have a dear friend who's family refused to take the shot. Keith the father is currently hospitalized and on a ventilator and possibly might not survive. If he does its likely he will never be the same. The daughter was also hospitalized but fared better. Im positive they all wish they had got vaccinations.

Brandon, I got the shot. Had the phizer, just a sore arm. Never had seconds thought about it. Or any reactions from it. I did it for me, my family and friends. I couldn’t live with the what if’s! My last Aunt died from it in 4 days time, and she lived in a tiny town in N.Dakota….. Just trust your intuition and follow your heart 💜 Rox from California

As 1st responders, my daughter and I got the vaccine 8 mo ago, no side effects at all, my daughter who is 30 yr but has diabetes type 1 and seizures also did not have any side effects. That being said I tested pos for covid 3 week ago and only had cold/ sinus type symptoms with fever for 3 days. Doing well now. With my co morbidities I feel that I did not get seriously ill because of the vaccine. SO I WILL ALSO TAKE THE BOOSTER.

Got the vaccine when it was available. My first grandson was born during the lockdown, and I didn't want to expose him to anything. Just like I took the pertussis vaccine to protect him and in a broader sense anyone else. At 66, and relatively good health, my only side effect was feeling fatigued and feverish the night after both shots. Next day no problem. I felt far worse after having the Shingles vaccine! We have ALL taken various vaccines during our lifetimes. This one shouldn't be different. We are protecting those people we love and others. Hope you get it, good luck!! Oh, love watching the video! You walking down the brooks and streams reminds me of Saturdays with my Dad, looking for arrowheads!!

Am fully vaccinated (Moderna) and only had a sore arm from the shot for a short time. As far as I am concerned the main reason is I'm an older male with allergies and COVID could take me out. Therefore, I took the vaccinations in the hopes that if I did get it that the symptoms would be less severe. It's up to you, but, the odds are better with the shot.

Hey Brandon, My whole family has been double vaxxed and we had no significant side effects. This Delta is bad and is affecting children in larger numbers. The virus can go both ways from adults to kids and vice-versa. Hospitals are filling up and the news is sad and often heart breaking because of the sharp increases, especially in your state, etc. I hope you and your wife and other age appropriate family members will take the shot very soon. An ounce of prevention, so to speak. Great videos! Keep up the good work.

I was on the fence about the vaccine at first...very unsure about it. I had a doctors appointment and I totally trust her because she is a very caring and personable home town gal who loves her patients. She told me she was concerned that I had not taken the vaccine and that she had researched it herself before she made the decision to have the shots. So, that very day I had my first shot of the Moderna vaccine. Sore arm but that was it. 2nd shot 3 weeks later and I had a sore arm and felt kinda icky the next day so I just slept a lot. By the next day all was good. I would recommend that you seriously consider it. I am a 70 year old widow and if this can keep covid from impacting me as much, should I get it, then I am going to be pro active. To me the vaccine is a pro active thing and nothing to fear. And no, a magnet does not stick to my arm, lol!

I got the vaccine as did my wife and never really considered skipping it. Our teenage daughter has also gotten it. None of us had any real serious side effects. It certainly is a personal decision and the situation has not been helped by the mixed and confusing messages out of Washington. You can do your own reading, but the incidence of COVID in very young children is very low. At the end of the day, I felt like it gave me a bit more advantage than not taking it.

I am a middle school teacher. I was skeptical at first just because of the quick push out. But with people I know getting the virus and passing away that were unvaccinated it was tough for me not to get it. I'm 40 years old and when you have friends with no health issues die from this virus it hits home a little harder. I got the moderna vaccine and had zero side effects. At least now if I contract the virus I'll be able to handle it without orphaning my family. It seems you and I were in the same position about the vaccine it's a tough decision with all the political overtones. Just do what you feels right and what's best for you and your family and you can't go wrong. Awesome content as usual keep it up bud!

I’m 24 and got both doses of the Pfizer vaccine in April. No major side effects other than a sore arm and being a little tired for maybe a day or so afterwards. Pretty much everyone in my family and most of my friends have gotten it too, and all of them reported pretty similar. If nothing else it provides peace of mind. Knowing that all of us have significantly less chance of getting really sick and possibly dying of COVID (or spreading it to loved ones) is definitely great. I think it’s sad that it’s been politicized so much. You shouldn’t have to feel guilty about wanting to protect yourselves and your 5 year old from getting a disease that can be so devastating like COVID can be.

Too many people are begging for the vaccine right before intubation...and a few stories I've read reveal deniers even as they are being intubated. As a Hospice nurse, in the nursing profession for 50 years, I have great sympathy for those on the front lines, day after day, month after month, afraid to even go home in case one microbe should follow them home to their families. Wearing all the gear is so draining. I've had a few Covid cases on Hospice (the original virus) and can attest to the toll it takes to make even a 45 minute visit.---I'm a chemo veteran, with a Mother who just turned 90 & is still active, we were both so relieved when the time came for us to get our shots. I had the original Covid in December last year, was out for 3 weeks with nausea as my only symptom, lost 7#. After my first shot, I had a bit of the nausea return, but no further wt loss. After the 2nd shot, I couldn't tell if there was nausea or not, but only had a bit of sore arm like you get after any injection. ---There's just too many nasty things in the world waiting for some unsuspecting host. I've seen tragedy d/t lack of adequate vaccinations in my career. Brandon: Do yourself and loved ones a favor, get the free vaccination and save a life (yours, your loved ones, or anyone else you may come into contact with in your day-to-day routine.)---XOXO

Neither of us had any size effects, except injection site soreness for a day or so. It certainly reduces the risk of getting COVID and maybe not recovering, or being a long-hauler. My husband and I had the moderna shots. Neither of us had any side effects. I had a great sense of relief and felt confident in my decision. My best advice is to listen to the doctors and scientists and do your own research. Never take the advice from someone who knows someone whose mothers friend, brothers cousin had it.

I was on the fence about the vaccine for a while. However after two people in my neighborhood died of the virus I got mine.. After it was approved for children over 12 I went through a lot of thought on the does and don't s again and decided he needed it. I had side effects for a couple of days my son had none!

I would for sure recommend you and your wife getting the vaccine. To me, the benefits far outweigh the risks. Apparently the current variant is very dangerous for unvaccinated people. I know there is little information about long term side effects, but the short term side effects of the virus are clear…a serious, potentially fatal infection. Please do it for your family, and for the general public you come in contact with.

I got the Pfizer vaccine and had no side effects from either shot. I figured the worst side effects from the vaccine are still better than having the disease. And I like knowing that I'm less likely to spread it to others. So there is my 2 cents!

Take it, I've had both shots, my partner has had both and number 2 son has had his first. My daughter and youngest son are recovering from Covid right now (too young for shots). Number 2 son got it much more mildly and partner got it mildly (with chronic lung condition and a smoker 🙄) I've not got it though even after being hold up with them for a week. Thats worth it in my eyes because the cough is really annoying

With regard to the vaccine:. My husband and I (69) have both been vaccinated. We had mild side effects. A little nausea and feeling drained. It only lasted about 24 hours. Our daughter (39) also got the vaccine. Very little side effects. Here in Mississippi those who are sick and some dying, did not vaccinate. Very few vaccinated have gotten covid in this new uptake. It has to be your decision for your health.

Please get the shot. My co-worker is anit-vax. She is fighting COVID and has just been hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia. My whole family and some friends who have cancer got the shot. Only had a sore arm. Nobody had bad reaction.

I had to get the shot because who I work for pretty much made us get it. If we didn’t and got sick then it was all on us. I wasn’t going to get it until more info and research was done. But I got my first one and had no side effects but I got my second this past Tuesday and I woke up with a horrible headache and as the days went on I felt like I was beat with a bat. It’s weird to explain for sure did feel sick per say but didn’t feel good that’s for sure. I feel better today but not 100%. Hope this helps @adventurearchaeology

I have had the vaccines. I'm 50's, very high risk, been in quarantine 17 months, even with vax. Prolonged, off and on site pain even months later on one side only. (I chose to have injections one on each side). A close relative works for UAB in a covid lab. I recommend getting the vax.
