What a beautiful spot in WV. I have not visited this part of WV, but have read about it. Right about Robert E. Lee and Traveler. Old Sweet Mineral Springs is so gorgeous especially the architecture. The springs looks like it is full of algae, but still beautiful. Thank you for this unique video Heather.

Indeed. It's a pitty that the are at the spring has fallen in such disrepair. Especially when the spring is still clearly active and just needs a little TLC.

Very interesting must have been beautiful in the day. I have my doubts whether or not any mineral springs really had any benefit. I think drinking very much of the mineral water could screw up your electrolytes. Very cool that Lee brought Traveler there. Poor horse. He had a tough life during the war. I enjoyed seeing this place. It's a glimpse into history

My My 3x great grandfather fled Gap Mills Virginia after an altercation settling in a part of Virginia near Tazewell. I have always wanted to visit the area, but guess this is the closest I will ever see it.

i was there in the mid to late 1960s, i was around 5 or 6 years old. i had an aunt and uncle that worked there and lived on the grounds in houses that are gone now. it was called the old folks home by locals. i live an hour away from there now.
