The best episodes are when Adam is in the car driving to places. I enjoy these types of videos. Plus food reviews and any one on one videos. Thanks for the laughter, smiles and sharing great content.
Wow! What a difference 5 years makes. It's too bad Desert Center hasn't made a comeback. Fun fact: we got the details about "Sweet Britches" from a homeless guy we ran into when we went to film there. Thanks for the shoutout, Adam! It really made my day :)
Hey Adam, The otter you were wondering about at Blair Station, is actually a seal. His name is Harbie the Seal, and he was the mascot for Harbor gas stations in Orange County. I remember seeing him, when I was a kid back in the 60s.
2:05 $5/gal.. and I thought Idaho was up there at $4/gal... 2:20 "The Pee-Wee Dinos"... No... The Wizard (1989) Dinos :D :D 3:45 "The Wizard" :D ahhhh you redeemed yourself.. lol ;) :) 9:20 Bringing back some memories :) I lived just north of there in 29 Palms for about 3 years. 14:04 There is a road just like that north of you that goes from 29 Palms to Amboy that is just a long stretch like that up and down up and down. Loved the video.
Some buildings are built elevated, because they don't leave enough open area to adsorb the runoff from rain. The new McDonald's in downtown Ocala was built this way. Underneath, is a drain field to handle the runoff, instead of it spilling onto the highway. It is about twice the size of the original McDonald's building on the site.
@@marksheridan5155 They put one of those prefab Checker's drive troughs in a nearby town. It closed within a month, because the sewer kept backing up. It was empty for years, until something was done to eliminate the problem. They likely installed a private lift station.
To all viewers, if ever you think your job is pointless, just imagine being the guy who was tasked with installing the 25 mph speed limit sign in the middle of buttplug nowhere next to an abandoned shed and house, lol. Fun video, thanks for another good one! I loved the "Large Marge" comments.
Desert Center.... wow.. what a place.. 1 step away from hell. I was a corrections officer at Desert Center facility for nearly 12yrs.... was actually a great place to raise all our 6 kids though. The school there was K-12 and the education and socializing (community) was fantastic. My children weren't tainted by inner city/ concrete jungle life. Thank you for the videos. We now live in Oregon and it's nice to see current videos of the Desert. Originally, we are from Joshua Tree/ Yucca Valley and 29 Palms.
Love your videos Adam! Thank you for taking the time to take us along. FYI, the math “problem” is the quadratic formula so there is nothing to solve unless you had numbers to put into the formula. I loathe math and haven’t taken classes in years but that formula haunts me which is why I remember it 😂
Adam, thanks I really appreciate all you do. Been watching you for so long it truly feels like I know you. Drive safe. Tears for fears is one of my favourite groups.
Adam, thank you for taking me along with you on your travels! Really enjoyed your awesome video! Loved the plane and all abandoned roadside finds! Looking forward to your next vlog.
Always a pleasure to watch you travel to these places. I worry sometimes about your safety when you notice someone might be around. Keep doing what you do Adam we all enjoy it
Desert 🏜 vibes, man. Nothing like it!! You could've caught that train Pee-wee style all the way to Texas 😅. Such a beautiful, freeing, yet ominous feeling in the desert. Good stuff, dude 👏
It is amazing to know people lived in such extreme conditions. RV'er TV ( you tube ) does extensive coverage of Quartzsite during their massive market time of year.
That shed is referred to as a Quonset hut and the only way I know about that was Gomer Pyle USMC the old show. The Quonset is a faster way to put up a building and was popular at that time, I haven’t heard of anymore huts being after the 1960’s. Have a good day Adam and stay safe 😊
Strange seeing that random quadratic formula out in the desert. I still have it memorized from way back in my high school algebra days. Love tagging along on your narrated travels. Great to see you’re now in my home, the greater Phoenix area; Mesa to be exact!
I was there when they filmed Airwolf (lived at the MWD pumping plant near by) the train inside may be from the movie "Tough Guys" it was filmed nearby on Red Cloud Road. You found a missing movie prop from the 1980's I saw the train (prop) in the desert right after filming then it disappeared. Happy to see it still exists.
Thanks Adam. This is why I started following you in the first place years ago. Abandoned places, Ghost Towns and off the beaten path. I think it was a dog on top of that building. This girl is happy!
It's hot and dry out here in the AZ desert. We have several lakes and beautiful places like Sedona. I have a channel and have videos on places like this, mining towns in AZ, and some California places as well if you're interested.
@ferg1680 what it's like to live in the desert. What would you like to know? I have videos on several places in AZ. I am a native. How is that a cheap plug? They were curious, what better way to answer the question than offering the fact that I have videos showing what it's like in Arizona?
I feel like I just got back from exploring some deserted buildings in the desert. A lot of cool stuff just out there abandoned and forgotten. Great vlog! I like your new techniques!
I love these kind of videos. I can see things through your lens that I will never be able to go and see or do. So thank you for that. I worry when you go in the abandoned houses, properties, and buildings. You don't know who can be squatting in those places. Always be aware of your surroundings. Please enjoy, but be careful and safe. Happy Trails.
Drove by these same dinosaurs last week but didn't get a chance to check them out. I was totally surprised to see them in this vlog 😲 Really nice to hear a little bit about them - thanks!
Came to the comments to see if someone had my exact thought. You would think with the elements being very harsh that they would have disappeared by now. Inquiring minds need to know!!!
If you enjoyed the Whaley House in San Diego, and wanna see something similar in Phoenix check out Rosson House, other cool historic buildings you could tour are the Wrigley Mansion, and Tovrea Castle. Also Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's house in Scottsdale.
Good to know. I thought Phoenix killed most of their history. Really don't like it there and it is the closest city to me. Will look for the last remains of history if I ever have to visit again. Meaning if any good concerts come to town. 😎
We used to live right down the street from, Taliesin West. And had a company party at the Wrigley Mansion. Both beautiful in their own right!!! You recommended some good spots!!!!
@@traceytrotter9934 Yeah, they haven't been great at preserving stuff. ☹ But there's still some pretty cool architecture around. Most of the prominent historic stuff is from the late 20s, and the 30s. But there is some older stuff!
Adam, that train is a prop from the 1980s movie "Tough Guys". It got bought a few years back by some college student with hopes of restoring it... clearly that didn't happen.
Like you I am fascinated by dessert areas. I don’t get to travel much and I love visiting these desolate areas via your vids with excellent narration. Thank you.
It's sad how people are trashing places like this. We found an abandoned camp ground north of Globe, and it was the same way. People stop trashing everything. It would be nice to meet you, Adam. I'm sure you already have plans.
You should look up the history of Desert Center and Stephen Ragsdale. He bought the desert in 1921. He built that cafe and mechanic shop soon after. He built those cabins for the people passing by along with the pool. You'll have more of an appreciation next time you pass by. Maybe, you will go see the former Desert Centers owner's summer cabin and his desert sanctuary next time. He used to run the mechanics shop until his son took it over.
Very nice trip Adam and I loved the fact that you did as you always do you got of the beaten path and show some things that I would have never seen if it wasn’t for you and I found it very interesting but what is even more fascinating is knowing that a lot of the abandoned places you showed were at one point thriving with business and now they’re just an empty shell and in a way it hurt to think of what once was and to be honest with you I’ll never understand why so many places have to go by the wayside and are left untouched for years when half the time these places are sitting on prime property I’ll never understand now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next awesome Adam the daily woo adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
I love your episodes which focus on desolate road trips. Very calming and chill channel, overall. I leave it on the iPad while working - like having a travel show on TV decades ago. Much love & respect from all the way in Ukraine. Keep on keeping on.
I enjoy it so much when yo explore these old towns! I gotta say, was kinda nervous about poisonis critters, & you being inside the grocery store! Thanks, Adam! 👍👍
Blythe is my birthplace. I've been through there once in the last 25 years, but never knew a lot of that was out there. I'll have to take a road trip out there one day to check things out. Keep up the great work Adam..
I lived in AZ for a few years and miss it. Your desert filming is what attracted me to your channel. 🤙🏻 Like you I have a thing for desolate desert areas.
Long, straight, enmpty roads in a very windy desert...so fascinating. Must be eerie at night (even when there are stars). You mentioned Airwolf! I watched it and it captivated my attention when it first came out. That scene with Stringfellow Hawk (Jan Michael Vincent's character's name) where he was playing a cello, alone, in the mountains beside a lake with a hawk (namesake? or was it an eagle?) soaring by... artistically, it spoke of solitary searching. A moment passed. That was a nice venturing vid. Thanks for that. Enjoy as well! See ya!😉
The animal on top of the building is "Harbie" the seal. He was a mascott for Harbor Fuel Gas Stations in the 50's-60's that were prominent in California. GREAT SITE Thx!
