In this video I will take you through fork shortening on my BMW R100RT cafe racer project using a spacer and fork spring chop. This is the first time I have attempted this and the result is perfect! I can now see the stance so once I have a few test rides can decide if a new shorter spring is needed or I'm happy to stick with what I have done. The fork lowering project cost under $20 and about half to full day for a first timer. I used 20mm irrigation riser from my hardware shop as the spacer and the only other parts needed was new fork oil, a M12 crush washer for the dampening rod screw and M5 crush washer for the drain screw

Hey buddy. Is there anywhere else you document your build? I’d love to know more about it and where you got some of the parts from (e.g. Your front fender). I’m attempting my own build and am learning as I go (never done anything like this before). Cheers mate.
