Always look in the direction of travel. If the load blocks your view, travel in reverse. Keep a clear view. You can see our drivers held redacted as he watches from the right of the load. Not noticing trouble to the left.
The guy with the load is at fault. You never drive a forklift going forwards with a load that obstructs your view. You drive backwards and you turn your head or use your mirrors.
If you can't see infront of your load then you should OBVIOUSLY be travelling in reverse. Rule number 2 when driving these machines. I've been driving forklift trucks for over 30 yrs & you very early on learn this
I never drive forward unless I am going to drop off a pallet. I always honk to let people know I am gonna enter to drop off. Always need a line of sight.
