At 9:15, for the two carbons that are methyl groups off of that middle carbon, would their oxidation numbers be -3 each since they "win" against the hydrogens?
can we study mechanism of organic reaction using the oxidation number instead of formal charge? i know it can be useless but it would be cool to have to different point of view in describing the same thing
