On a hill within this beautiful National Trust woodland at Formby in Merseyside, England we begin our gentle walk by following the winding path through the tall towering pine trees. As we make our way over the hills and turns there was a lovely quietness to the woodland except for the sounds of the many birds calls. If you are lucky this area of pine trees is a good place to spot the red squirrel! Reaching the far end of the woodland the trees give way to the lovely sand dunes as our path now becomes soft sand. We make our way up the hill with the sound of the roaring sea ahead of us. At the top we are greeted with the beautiful view of the wide sandy Formby beach and large expanse of coastline we can see, even across to the mountains in neighbouring North Wales. We finish our walk by making our way across the beach to the waters edge stopping to admire the view and the vast dramatic looking cloud formations all around us.
