Tony I'm gonna correct you it new and emerging parties like risemzansi you're mentioning . The small parties are actually the established parties losing support. Why are they put to forefront so much? Its due to their funders.
I always love Tony Leon's analysis. Especially his opinion on the popularity of Mmusi and Herman. Neither of them give any credit to the DA for why they are well known.
@@NomusaNdovela-r6f would you not rather put your pride in your pocket and thank the heavens that apartheid is gone , yea there is a life after South Africa, this land is our land also , pray and repent so that you can learn that God has the final say over this world and its people, Yes Jesus is coming to change this world, and all wicked people be destroyed with all the false gods and idols
Imagine a South Africa without the Democratic Alliance (DA). Think about it. You have all the other political parties, but no DA. I would argue that South Africa would be a living nightmare without the DA.
SA doesn't need a political party!!! SA needs a "GOD FEARING" Leader!!! Read Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 and if you still don't understand then I rest my case!!!!
I don't believe in religion. Religion and politics should always be separate. This is not a country of one religion, so we cannot run it from a Religious agenda. Which I might add is usually very repressive and not progressive. I don't mind the leader being religious, I just don't want them making decisions based on a Bible, Quran, Torah, etc
Once more Tony Leon ever the diplomat makes some really excellent points , the only question Alec should have asked Tony was his opinion on the current DA leadership by JS which is an issue which remains and this may return and resurface if the DA fares badly in these elections.
The fact that so many people have forgotten this, should be astonishing... instead, it's a sign of how effectively our education and news media have been destroyed
Do you know that four out of every five new jobs in SA over the past five years were created in the Western Cape? If you want to live in a successful and prosperous country where people have jobs and where our country's infrastructure, including public schools and especially public hospitals really work, then vote for the DA and Multi Party Charter in 2024 to make it happen!! See - DA delivers for the poor and vulnerable, BusinessDay.
Well done Tony, realistic view of campaigning. I am still optimistic and have my own view, problem is who succeeds Ramaphosa? That would and could be a worse aspect of a victorious ANC.
Tony Leon. I listen to him "from a distance". Now very verbal but, when he had the opportunity to lead, he made a mess of it and was responsible for the failures of the DA at the time. Therefore, I consider him only .....with a pinch of salt and a LOT of CHILLI.
Underestimate the EFF at your own peril...I'm from Pietermaritzburg and I know very well many people in KZN are quiet fascinated by Zuma's MK and will probably vote for it. But there's still quiet a considerable support for the EFF here. I guess we'll find out exactly by how much after the 29th next week!
underestimate the danger to south africa the eff presents at your own peril. malema is closer to a gang boss than someone who can make-better the lives of people he will never meet.
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoods8202 You must also go and check who funds these polls LOL. We will show you the poll that matters next week, we can't wait to vote. Remember most of the polls don't seem to take into account that now EFF has over 2 million registered card carrying members.
@yourfriendlyneighbourhoods8202 polls are exactly that, just polls, come back next week Sunday, and tell me about the real polls! You will realise the propaganda polls you are referring to were always false!
No Tony 1. DA was formed in 2000 though the merger of DP,NP and Federal Alliance, and merged with ID in 2021, its formed by a group of parties 2. NP got 20% in 1994 and DA is also sitting around 20% or below, because of mostly White South Africans.
Is this the same Tony Leon who defamed Jaap Marais from behind his parliamentary priviledge, and when Jaap then challenged him to say the same things outside parliament, or challenging him to a open debate, face to face on a political stage, that this Tony Leon then did not have the guts to accept either challenge? Please explain, Tony Leon!!!
I like Tony Leon's ordinary blokeness and his naturalness. I know Tony Leon is a non-Catholic (Jewish) politician, though he's obviously a patriotic Durbanite and South Äfricän. I would only support Catholics but I like Tony Leon.
The United Party was the main opposition party throughout the apartheid years . The United party became the DP after 1994..strange that Tony didn't mention them
Unfortunately the DA drowned in hubris and congratulated themselves about performance in the Western Cape and in the process completely disconnected with the majority of the population . Their signalling and message did and does not resonate . Winning elections is about connecting with the highest number of voters. A real pity, but an own goal.
I agree. DA seem content to defend 20%. Their leadership selection and communications strategy does not demonstrate serious intent to contend for power nationally, either on their own or in alliance with others.
It's not ALL the DA's doing but everything to do with the voting population - they do not get it - that the priority this year is to GET RID OF THE ANC!!!! It's the ANC that's the problem. The DA shot themselves in the foot just as Leon said - choosing sides in the Gaza story and showing a flag burning ad - just plain idiotic.
Yeah , providing decent services with minimal corruption doesn't connect with the voters. You have to promise lot's of free stuff to get votes , even if you know that you can never keep those promises.
@ProcaviaCapensis-ts8ub it's not about promising free stuff. It's about recognizing the history of this country which is still very glaring wherever you go, and committing oneself to redress the injustices of the past! Raving about how wonderful you govern in the Western Cape, but not addressing things like the spatial planning of the Apartheid regime which alienated the majority of South African people from meaningful economic participation!
Dankie Colyn wat meer kan ek sê ons is in ñ gemors. Soos jy in die verlede gesê het dis ñ inteligensie probleem dit het niks met rasisme te doen nie. Groete en sterkte Willem
Please all let's fight fire with fire. Calling all to turn off your solar systems on Monday/Tuesday. We need a little load shedding just before we all vote! Let's do it, spread the word!
The best option within the realms of reasonable possibilities is if the ANC gets around 45% and forms a coalition with the IFP. Much higher than that and it's business as usual with a few crumbs thrown to a couple of 1 or 2% parties. If they go too low , the probability of an EFF coalition becomes high which won't be good for SA. If they form a coalition with the IFP , then what happens in KZN and Gauteng becomes interesting. Provincially , the ANC would have to form a coalition with the IFP in KZN (because of their National coalition) , but polling data indicates that they'll need a 3rd partner. The EFF might have enough votes to help them across the line but it looks more likely that the ANC will have to choose between the MK and DA. The DA has worked with the IFP previously so with a little nudging from the IFP , the DA could become the ANC choice for No. 3 partner. Now if the DA is in a coalition with the ANC in KZN , they would want a coalition with the ANC in Gauteng. Lesufi would resist as he's already in bed with the EFF and it would have a knock on effect with the metros coalition governments. I foresee some very frantic and heated coalition negotiations coming up.
@@jeanettegouws5526 I'm just offering up some possibilities. We really are in an " anything can happen" election. I have popcorn. (But I'm really hoping that the next 5 years will be better than the last 5 years whatever the outcome).
@@ProcaviaCapensis-ts8ub Its refreshing to see that stubborn people like you have finally resigned to accept the harsh truth that MK will be a major factor in these elections, it took you a very long time to see
@@biko8229 WTF ? MK popped up like a mushroom in cow dung and will last just as long. If they can't form a coalition as part of the governing party in KZN they will fade away faster than COPE did. No Zuma = no MK. But MK will help to bring the ANC below 50% and keep the EFF at around 10% so we thank you for that.
Herman Mashaba won't do a deal with the ANC. The DA went to bed with the EFF????? Herman and Action SA is the only group that can bridge the racial gaps in SA and has the integrity and will to fight the anc and not be sucked into a coalition with the Devil. Action SA deserves success.
DA seem to be sleep walking. Where is the compelling non racial leadership offer? Why is DA not vigorously promoting the transfer of title deeds and restorative land justice?
DA is not the ruling party the anc hv land across the country many of ths land in Western Cape is some of them the khoi and San claim that' belongs so I dnt want you to get frm the DA if your not intrested in DA why mention them
I obtained my title deed thru *lawful hard work over decades of suffering under apartheid AS WELL AS THE ANC!!!!* Anyone wanting to take it away to give to the elite will have something coming their way.
@@maryjooste6161you don't have to be a ruling party to be heard, and to put your point across! The DA have made it clear to voters that they have no appetite to correct the wrongs of the past! All they want to do, is to better manage the same system that marginalized the majority of the people of this country! It's not gonna work!
You are wide awake.... This past weekend at Orlando stadium the Khoi-San traditional leadership announced that their people will unashamedly vote MK. Abahlali base mjondolo have said they implore all their members to vote EFF. DA and ANC have misread the current mood in the country. Land is a major factor in these elections and I believe the results will prove this.
@@kevinrtres Don't worry EFF and MK have declared that those who think they can resist South African law on South African soil will feel the whole might of the state, CIC Malema said you will see what soldiers are used for. Good luck resisting the people's mandate.

because he knows logic and good reasoning ability is enough to identify the DA as the most competent governing party on the African continent. The wester cape economy is growing faster than any other province and is now bigger than the national economy of some african countries. Job creation will be our savior, not nice words coming from a thief with the right skin colour.
My 2 p is the ANC will rule for the rest of our natural life's even they loose they will do a coalition with the eff the DA will be lucky if they keep the western cape
