Former Hollywood reporter tells of Elvis secret love nest 

he may not have liked Elvis but more than willing to Nick souvenirs and take photo's of Elvis's private rooms. there's a bit of under lining jealousy in there somewhere I think.

My late Uncle was in the Army and stationed in Germany for his tour of duty during the 1950s. His girl back home in Virginia was his high school sweetheart and my Aunt (I was born in '57). Elvis was Uncle's Sergeant. Uncle said Elvis was a very nice guy, unassuming, hardworking, a regular guy. He said Elvis wouldn't order any of his men to do anything that he, himself, wouldn't do and would work on his own jeep or do whatever needed to be done. I have the top third of a battered photo that was just of my Uncle with Elvis, both men in fatigues and Army caps. I say it's battered because when I was 10 or 11, I made the mistake of taking it with me on the school bus to school one day and another girl who was as crazy for Elvis as I was, tried to take my picture away from me. I held on with all my might as she ripped it from my hands. She got the lower 2/3s of that picture with Uncle and Elvis' legs, boots, and hands, but I got the top third with their chests and heads. (Even though I don't remember the name of the girl who did that to my beloved picture, I still haven't forgiven her for what she did because, after my Uncle died in a car accident, I asked my Aunt for another whole picture and she wouldn't let me have one. My Uncle would have given me one or several, but not my Aunt!! She and their children have Uncle's whole collection of photos of Elvis with my Uncle and other Army guys.) Anyway, I still have that piece of the picture, wrinkled from the tug-of-war from me holding on for dear life. My Uncle was a great guy, too, kind, sweet, caring, with a great sense of humor, Elvis-handsome, beautiful smile and great laugh. I'd bet money that Elvis would have liked Raymond very much.

Elvis wasn't like everybody else. That's why he's still not forgotten after 45 years.

Jealous much? Elvis was a wonderful, generous human being! Not to mention his outstanding, chiseled good looks, vocals of an Angel, and a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! This doesn’t make a person perfect, it makes them redeemed! It’s people like you who are the reason he suffered so much! America LOVES Elvis, and we love the people he trusted his life with!! I’m happy he’s been in peace! He’s loved and appreciated more today than he’s ever been!

I dated Elvis, and I can tell you that he did NOT PARADE AROUND NAKED IN FRONT OF GIRLS OR ANYONE. He was shy when it came to things like that. This guy is off his rocker saying mean spirited things like this. He never knew the man.

Elvis was one of kind.

This is Elvis' house in Chino Canyon Rd in Palm Springs. It was bought by Elvis in the early '70s. I've been in it. There was no secret about it. It has well more than two bedrooms. Natalie Wood only dated Elvis briefly in the late '50s so certainly didn't stay here. Elvis did drink occasionally but did smoke cigarillo type cigars. I think this guy is making it up as he goes along.

Natalie Wood was never in Palm Springs with Elvis.

I think this guy is projecting his own lewd thoughts & fantasies onto Elvis. Shameful! This is the only person that I've ever heard heard interviewed to say that they didn't like Elvis after meeting him.( I had to rewind to make sure that's what he said, because it was so off base). I'd liked to run into this guy. Give him an interview! The "secret" hideaway was no secret or a hideaway. It was his palm springs home. Natalie Wood neever slept at any of his homes other than his home at the time in Memphis, and all these homes he's mentioning were bought in the 60's, long after he and Natalie had their time in 1956. He said Elvis was very nice, because he was a journalist, and he had to be nice because he was a journalist, but if he was a journalist he should know Elvis was nice to complete strangers, and often gave money and even cars to people down on their luck that he didn't even know. He doesn't like Elvis but won't go into it. Weird man.

E.P. didn't drink like that. I heard stories that before he went into the Military him and a buddy of his, did get with a lot of girls before they went. Which wore him out he said. Everyone, who met Elvis or dated Elvis has their own story. There has been so many stories, nobody really knows what to believe. The only true thing that I can get out of everything. He liked to have his cake and eat it too. He was a moody man. I listen to his music...because I like it.

Many people have many things to say about Elvis. I feel it’s all got to be taken with a BIG pinch of salt. Not to say that it may not be true, but more that the ‘truth’ may be half somewhere in the middle. Needless to say that there are consistent stories from MANY different women who DO NOT have a bad word to say about Elvis. With the many women he had you’d think he might have upset one or two along the way. He was very careful to not hurt anybody’s feelings. Who’s to say he had wild parties or not. Whether he did or not, it’s not shocking to leaarn about it. Sadly though, at the end of the day he died a troubled man. Thats’ the most heartbreaking thing of all.
