If there are teams that are willing to meet the number that he wants why settle for less ?? You only get 1 legit chances to get paid so why leave money on the table when you work for a billionaire ??
The take on Purdy being 'not given sufficient credit' for his absurd talent is absolutely the result of the entire media and NFL franchise apparatus of talent evaluators that straight up dropped the ball on this kid. Keep calling it out, Pat!
He's white "unathletic" and didn't go to a big school. Similar to Caitlin Clark. Hmmmm I wonder why. Listen to how Pat talks about "us whytes" and then wonder why people talk the way they do.
If Brock Purdy is getting carried then the rest of the NFL sucks. Other teams have better receivers than SF, yet no QB had a better year than Brock. Explain that.
@@nathanchildress5596 lmao sf has the best offense in the league by far what nfl do you watch their entire skill group are all pros plus a top 2 oline put any qb in sf they're going to playoffs
@@Solescollection you are huffing glue on the o-line take. The 49ers oline is one of the worst in the league in pass pro. If Trent goes down, they are F'd. Purdy's scrambling and pocket presence is severely underrated. Watch the games live.
@@loganpinner5212there are two problems, they haven’t won yet and By being on the team, it means he doesn’t get his credits which in turn hurts his Bottom line. Bosa sat out or missed camp because he wanted the most money and hadn’t won a championship, was that a bad idea? If they couldn’t afford to give Bosa too defensive money, do you think he was going to play? What about Chris Jones he sat out after a Super Bowl because he didn’t feel his paycheck represented how important he was
Aiyuk is on a team with an embarrassment of talent. He can just kinda fall back while the defense focuses on the other huge threats the Niners throw out there. If he gets paid paid he’s going to have to be a number 1 receiver on a probably not so good team and he’ll see how much different it is being the man. He doesn’t know how good he has it or at least how easy he has it.
Finally eomeone that gets it. Aiyuk is imo the second most overrated player in the league. he's the Nr4 option on his own team... there is no team in the league opposing defenses would focus less on him than in this one. Everyone thought Juju is him, until he had to be the Nr1 guy. It's a different world when coaches make you the priority when gameplaning against. Not a single def coordinator said that about Aiyuk last seasons. They wanted to stop Cmc, Kittle, Samuel and THEN Aiyuk
Purdy is the reason BA has risen to this status. Look at what he had done before Brock and since. Big difference, night and day. The most yards in a game for 2022 was 101 yards and Purdy was QB. The next closest was only 84. In 2023 He had 7 games with over 100 yards, the most at 156 with another at 148. In 2021 he had only 1 game at 107 yards, the last game of the season. If Jimmy G or whatever his name is that we wasted so many picks on was still QB. We probably wouldn't have exercised his 5th year option.
I was intrigued when I saw "Former NFL exec" then i clicked the video and saw it was Mike "Doug Pederson might be less qualified to coach a team than anyone I’ve ever seen.” Lombardi. Take his opinion the way my grandma with hypertension takes her dinner.
Personally I believe Purdy benefited from the roster around him in season 1 but that gave him the confidence he needed and the drive to get even better and now he’s grown to a top 10-13 QB.
Brock has great anticipation, and one thing that stands out in the highlights in the background is his touch. He throws with very deliberate arc on the ball. You see some lasers, but he can also drop a rainbow in the bucket, and he chooses his "pitch speed" about as well as any QB in the league.
Purdy was Mr Irrelevent bc he made a TON of atrocious decisions at ISU. There is a famous 5 min reel of his boneheaded plays *as a Senior*. Yeah he has the talent but finally got the head to go with it
I can’t stand when someone try’s to get a new contract before there old ones are up!!! How about a pay reduction on the contractor before it’s up gotta be a two-way street. You perform good. Get a raised. You perform less you get a price deduction.
Im more inpressed with how Brock was already game ready when he stepped in... 3rd String behind Lance and Jimmy...if your down that far in the QB Depth chart your mostly doing homwwork for the starter... And he sure as hell knew the answers
49ers don't NEED to trade Aiyuk. They hold all the leverage. My ONLY concern is him being disgruntled & becoming a cancer in the locker room. This is another SB or bust year for SF. Can't waste these opportunities...
I knew he wasn't getting traded. I've seen like everybody keep talking about so I thought well maybe I don't know something but no they are literally just saying the obvious.
For him to say Aiyuk is the 3rd down guy that can get open 1v1 is ridiculous. CMC, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, the 49ers are LOADED with pass catchers. Aiyuk is probably the worst of the 4.
They only compare top players by hype which is a shame look at Rodger’s is it 2 outta last 4 yrs then all of sudden oh he’s trash. Allen he won 2 of those big games the defense n kicker lost game even if they didn’t they lost kc and bengals omg those teams suck lol. Also wats with superbowl wins that’s a team thing not every team knows how to build a sb team, I’m not a hater but if it wasn’t defense Mahomeboy would’ve got a whoopin last season which wouldn’t have been his fault just like Tampa.
The 49ers have made it clear that any deal less than a 1st round pick is not a deal they're willing to listen to. By all accounts from the media/insiders Aiyuk is an elite WR and the going rate of one of those who also happens to just be hitting his prime, remember he's still only 26, starts at a 1st round pick. The Niners have control for at least the next 2 years, possibly even 3, if they want to. For whatever reason they don't think he's worth the 30M a year he's asking for and it looks like neither do any of the other 31 NFL teams otherwise someone would have jumped at the chance to trade for him. I hope the guy stays but unless he and his agent can find a team willing to meet the 49ers asking price, I suggest he gets comfortable in SF.
Batna - best alternative to no agreement- Niners have him for no risk 1 yr deals with the option and tags. He has only risk and very little more without a deal
Ayuik stats are the beneficiary of all the other great players that the defenses are focusing in. Put BA on a team where defenses double him and he won’t be anyone. He doesn’t have the speed or physicality. The attention that CMC, kittle, and deebo get is the reason why BA gets those 1 on 1’s. It’s a straight fact and he knows it!
If your assessment is accurate, then why won't the 49ers just trade him, and let him get his generational wealth? These execs are giving QBs who haven't proven anything 40 per year deals and yet cockblocking other positions. If you truly believe that the QB is the only guy you need to pay to win the Super Bowl, then pay the QB of your choice, and let the other dudes who want to leave, leave. lol
exactly. The only thing at you can afford to pay a WR QB money is if you have a QB on a rookie contract. That is how NE won so many SB they had Tom and he never took all the money. He did this long before he had a wealthy wife. If you pay a WR 30 plus million you’re never winning anything. NE won without a number one receiver. It’s not needed if your offense is built correctly and your defense is good.
Start Holding out see how fast it changes! Change your player rep and get someone who Is'nt on the NFL side to get money they are worth!!! Teams make way more in the year they can afford it.
The NFL is kinda becoming the NBA after Deshaun Watson forced his way out of Houston and got all that fully guaranteed money. They can say all they want and pretend like that didn't happen but it did. Aiyuk can play hardball to get the money he is worth if he is fully focused on it just like Chris Jones did at the Chiefs. Dude just has to sit out for a while and see who blinks first.
Aiyuk - trade me. 49ers - no. Aiyuk - then i sit out. 49ers - then we will see you next year. Youll lose $30M in between. Aiyuk - then im not playing hard 49ers - then you will tank your value on your next contract, which will cost more Aiyuk - then im not signing anything 49ers - you dont have to. Youre on 5th year option. Youll get paid half what we offered. Next year we will tag you. Aiyuk - ill take the long term contract 49ers - OK
BA is a beast.. but like I’ve said along time ago.. the Wide receivers with top pay. $$ only are playing with average teams.. but if he wants the money over rings.. then it is up to him.. won’t hate him for that.. bc in reality, who wouldn’t take a lot of $$ for their own business.
Puffy is a Good QB but the 49ers roster is so good and the these is so well ran that If you threw Jordan Love on that team they win the SB guaranteed. Purdue is a “system” qb but the system is amazing and he is on time and accurate. He’s smart too
If you are Brandon and leadership of 49ers comes to you and says listen, We haven't talked since may and that is on us. We will take care of you next season if you can give us 1 season of great ball. We understand what you have done and we know what you can be, just give us a season to figure out the money...... Do you go with it?
he's literally the Nr4 option on his team getting absolutely 0 focus from def coordinators or double teams. they want to stop cmc, then kittle, then Samuel and THEN Aiyuk
@@sprayer97 people really gonna act like Aiyuk would put those same numbers up on another team. Aiyuk is good, but it helps when you play on the most stacked roster in football
Nobody wants to pay him 30M or the trade would've happened already. Nico Collins took a smaller deal 1 year early to set up his team. Aiyuk thinks he is better than McCaffery or Kittle?
There isnt an issue. The 49ers planned for this and cannot accommodate x amount of offensive star players, by drafting a rookie WR. Let the guy walk/trade and back your current roster. Aiyuk is a solid player. He deserves to be paid by a wr needy team
4:25 Hey Mike, I can name 3 other players on their Niner’s Roster than can win a 1v1 out on an island on 3rd Down. Don’t give that load of crap “He gives them what they don’t have as talented as they are”. If he REALLY did give them that, they’d try to make even more room for his salary. Since he is on a stacked roster, and he is one of a group of guys who can do that, his value aligns differently. He isn’t the superstar receiver, he’s one of many.
The NFL should remove the franchise tag, if the team really wants that player they should pay him then not make that player mad and the team screws him over if he regresses
Or just not make it a requirement for players to sign, that’s the problem I have with it, the tag is supposed to be used to negotiate a deal longer but some teams (bengals for example) use it just to have an extra year with the players
Pat, Bosa held out and had a mediocore season. Aiyuk is doing the same thing. I bet this will impact his playing and his career. How much $ do these guys need? Trade Deebo to pay Aiyuk? Ask Juice to take a pay cut? That will be a bad decision. Are the 9ers snakebit?
This whole take is ridiculous if they don’t give him the money he wants he’s not signing and won’t play or will sign and fake injury all season that’s what always happens
In every team sport, it's too easy to demand credit....From Coaching to the trenches, every cog has to mesh....How many of Aiyuks talent have gone to poor situations, and not thrived?
@@aesop4024 Aiyuk is a baller no doubt, but easier to exceed your contract when the defense has to worry about kittle, cmc, deebo, kyle j, jennings, a qb that can run if need be. Aiyuk is good, but requesting JJettas money when your not JJettas is out of pocket. Send Aiyuk to the Raiders and watch his numbers plummet, then it will be "well if i had a team to back me up." 26mil a year to play WR on a stacked roster was more than fair.
Obviously BA is good, but he has had the benefit of being on a stacked team that luckily! Got Purdy and those 2 developed an amazing chemistry. Saying that, BA had one “all star” season this past year. He doesn’t deserve Justin Jefferson money.
Imagine a world that people complain about already making millions complaining about not making 20x more for a game that kids play and for what? Here’s a prime example of how this makes no sense, bosa was the story last year and his sacks and performance level was far less this past year. From leading in sacks to barely any at all by comparison. These guy’s should be thankful for making 5 million after all taxes are taken on what? A 10 year job if they’re lucky. Blows my mind this money talk should piss more people off than it is right now.
Imagine a world where an employee left millions on the table because he chose not to be paid according to what other employees of the same caliber are paid. It's all perspective. This ain't Aiyuks fault or the 49ers. This is a contract bomb that Minny set off when they overpaid Jefferson and reset the market. A deal will get done despite that - the 49ers offer is reasonable.
@@Treys_Waterboy I saw Purdy drop a few dimes...to opposing teams 😂 SF averaged the highest YAC per completion last year. No hate, just facts. His boys making him look real good.

I'm sorry I don't understand ...it's not like this guy isn't paid already. This world believes as a man if I agree to do something, I get to decide all of sudden that you need to do more for me before I complete my agreement but if I play worst that what you gave the money for then I don't have to pay back anything ...you better pay me because this is what we agreed????
Gotta stop gassing purdy. Bro only played because the team needed him to. If he was always good he woulda won the starting job. The niners have been spoiled always. They can’t get it done. End of story. Great team. Not a top ten qb
(1/2) white players get no press. the best running back in the league rn is white and he never gets talked about. (2/2) brock plays with a super team but his throwing stats show he can really throw that thing
Brandon Aiyuk should be kept on the niners and he can sit out the whole season. Quit acting like you are more important than the team, not even a top 10 WR acting like he’s Justin Jefferson… Gen Z need to start acting like men instead of boys. Obviously Aiyuk cares about money and personal stats more than winning a SB
I hope BA retires, waits until 9ers spend the $$ filling holes left then UNretire, forcing a trade due to cap. 9ers do not have all the pull. BA CAN screw them over for YEARS
Why Lombardi’s BS opinions continue to be considered is beyond me. This guy is living in Morton’s Salt container podcasting from his basement. Some get that guy a true classic tee
"...because he was drafted 'Mr Irrelevant', the last pick of the draft..." I'm pretty sure it's actually because no one thinks Jimmy G-string is a real NFL starter, and he took the same Niners team to the NFC championship game literally the previous season, before Purdy entered the picture. And he took them to the SB in 2019. Pretty sure the draft pick literally doesn't matter to this discussion. No one is saying that Brock Purdy isn't a good, talented, legit starter QB(and clearly better than Jimmy). But we've heard this same crap before with other QBs succeeding in Shanahan's system, when you had guys like Jimmy hitching a ride. Remember how we "have to give [Jimmy] credit", how that was season long talk? Go back and watch prime Seahawks Russell Wilson and tell me that isn't one of the best QBs in the league. Or is he though... (I'm not saying that Purdy will ever have a Wilson-like fall off in another system or something - but I am saying that we have absolutely no idea)
Purdy doesnt get credit? Giving him credit seems like is all i heard last season which is totally cool with me and he is a great qb..the only question i have is when 1 or 2 of the other players were out he seemed to lose those games..but i dont watch all the niners games so i say that with a healty dose of hesitation. Def will try to watch a few more this year and make my own decision
Bitter Mike chimes in .... If he was so good he would be a higher up in one of 32 teams. Instead he is blogging from the basement hating on the Raiders and not Gruden who ruined it. Real informed ..... NOT.
Demanding a trade is stupid for players under contract. Players have tried this before and failed badly. For this guy to want out of San Francisco is insane on many levels.
People start to talk about you, maybe other GMs start to talk about you again, and making offers. Demanding a trade doesn't put in a lot of effort for yourself, so why not trying it.
What would mean more to you in your life, to be considered the best at your certain career but make average go above average money or to be paid the most over your career? Usually it’s a mix between both, but at the end of the day, that Super Bowl gone make the team more money than it’s going to make him.
They're doing a segment on Aiyuk and all of a sudden it's overwhelming and Lombardi just blurts out, "Look at these throws!" Like WTF is wrong with people not giving this kid respect?
Purdy is in the same boat as Tua, and both the Phins and Miners brass are happy. Less credit = smaller contract numbers. Both Tua and Purdy are better than Herbert, but noone questions Herbert's ridiculous salary. When time comes to pay Purdy, the Miners will try and underlay, arguing that he's a system guy.
The issue is he’s the 4th option. Dose not matter if he’s the number one on another team. He’s 4th on this team. Good riddance. Means more touches for Kyle Jushavenoideahowitsspelt
@@gb9719the play will be designed to go to one of the others, but the defense doesn’t want to be beat by them, so first option (at the line) is Deebo, if that’s not available you check to kitty, then check to cmac. Now the 4th option (Brandon) is one on one on the outside. Would you throw to a double covered kitty or Deebo? Would you check to the run with 8 in the box? Or would you take your chances one on one?
