He’s not being thrown to the wolves after a single preseason game. Hes being tossed aside for showing very little growth in 3 years in the league. Major difference.
CAP 🤡 Trey was drafted with the idea of "grooming" for the future so year 1 he was benched because Kyle was sucking Jimmy G up until he realized Jimmy was a joke. Year #2 injured Year #3 Tossed under the bus 🚌 despite putting up better numbers than Darnold in less time.
Word everyone acts like we has this guy bench warming. He gets his snaps in practice like everyone else and has his opportunity to shine but never did. He's a concept draft, a guy with very little experience but knows football and has all the physicality but none of the IT factor. Happens every year with players, I have no idea why they're so laser focused on San Fran
Trey is in year three. Should have stayed in college. He lacks experience and confidence. Just because you have the outside traits doesn’t mean you are good. Slow processing, mechanics and accuracy issues. They brought in Sam for a reason. Big scout failure. Trey looks petrified and overwhelmed.
Totally agree with your assessment of him. However, why should he have stayed in college? He was drafted 3rd overall, thoroughly vindicating his decision.
@@greggnelson9334 His on-field performance is proof that not only did Trey make a bad decision about hitting the draft market early, but also about the front office's decision to take him @ #3.
@@chrisscott8604he would have been exposed another year in college and would have lost draft status. So for him personally he did the right thing for the pay day. He’s a bust and he knows he’s a bust.
@@greggnelson9334 Well, if the point was to just get drafted, yeah, he made the right decision. But if the point was to have a successful long-term career and get the big bag contract extension as a starter, it was the worst decision of his life to come out early. Sure, if he stayed in college, it could have ended in catastrophe, but that probably wouldn't have happened. I think Trey would have benefited from hitting the transfer portal and playing at a bigger school against better competition for a couple of years before declaring for the draft. Hindsight is 20/20 though.
@@stephenatencio2398 yeah man, but there are some athletes out there looking to do more than score 1 pay day. Look at Justin Herbert. Signed a deal 10X bigger than his original contract. Stop thinking small, my guy.
The Niners drafted him because he looks like Patrick Mahomes. Just because he looks like Mahomes doesn't mean he can play like him. I knew he was going to be a bust!
Man, I feel bad about his situation. Drafted above where he should have been, all that expectation... At this point, the best thing that could happen to Trey is to get on a team that isn't making a run for a SB. I guess it is a good reminder that a couple additional years of college would have helped prepare him for the league.
couldn't agree more.. He was put in a position he never was qualified for. As a niners fan, I was shocked and appalled on that draft day. The niners organization could not have seen enough say he was that good. With COVID, impacting sports leading up to that draft.
I agree. It be best for both parties to part ways. I don’t think he fits Shanahan’s offense. He might be better off with offense like the Bears or Giants

He looked absolutely terrified out there. I can't help but think he should've transferred to major program after his freshman year. I wish him the best, but I don't see it with the niners.
The sad part is that he is a great team player, teammate. He has handled EVERYTHING very respectfully, professionally, maturely, taken responsibility for his mistakes, and has been the best team player on the sidelines. You don’t always see backup qbs or injured players so engrossed in the games and celebrating with his team’s players on all sides of the ball like he has. I mean, he is the one that went and retrieved Purdy’s first td ball after it was thrown wherever during the celebration. He went on his own, off camera.
I can't help but feel bad for him as a person. But this league is a ruthless business at the end of the day. You perform or it chews you up immediately.
The 49ers made Trey a multimillionaire -- stop feeling sorry for him, I think he will land on his feet whether he is a good NFL qb or not. People are so dramatic.
The sad part is that Lance would have still been available for the 49ers with their no. 12 pick. Mac Jones didn't even go until no. 15. And they would have had those other two first round and one third round picks. Think what they could have done with all that wasted draft capital. Very poor judgement by Lynch and Shanahan..
I watched it yesterday and they were 100% on point. You can't argue with that. 3rd year in the league and can't recognize a Cover 2 look in your pre-snap read? That is why he holds the ball for over 3.3" and kills the play. Whether you like it or not, all signs point to a bust. You can't just blame it on not having playing time because like any back-up QBs, you are supposed to learn as a scout team QB.
Stfu, it’s 1 preseason game, he’s coming back from a injury, if piggyback pick Purdy would’ve played terrible you’d be making a billion excuses for him so stop hatin GOT DAMN
They aren't wrong sadly. It's not Treys fault either. Its crazy to think that the 49ers literally got rid of Jimmy G for a project QB with 3 1sts. At this time Brock Purdy was also a unknown. I was pissed at this whole extravaganza they did whilst the majority of the fan base was manipulated by 49er youtubers convincing them that Jimmy G is crap, Trey is wayyy better & will be the king of the NFC. BRUH!
What they said is true for the most part. His accuracy has objectively improved, but he is still struggling with the basics. No pre-snap reads is asking for disaster outside of a hurry up offense. Slow progression reads, linked to no pre-snap reads. Late delivery to receivers through their route.
Some commentators seem to be saying that Lance was the victim of a conspiracy and would not get a chance to play. The fact is that he was over-evaluated from day one. .
I been saying this exact same thing since we drafted him. I just don’t see what it is that he does well. He’s not hyper athletic, he’s not that fast, he’s not that elusive, he doesn’t run it that well, he’s not a natural thrower, requires perfect mechanics to throw well, doesn’t throw well off platform. Even if he one day becomes an actual NFL QB with hard work, effort, time and playing time, he’ll never be the hyper athletic, Mahomes/Allen dual threat QB that was advertised. Good thing we lucked out on Purdy cus if Not we would have lost a great coach over this pick.
@@Kolohe56the same bum who said Bosa wasn't better than Parson because he doesn't run down players 10 yards down the field? 😂 y'all goofy if u even consider that dude a analyst
Here's the thing, if someone were to watch this preseason game, in no particular order just the gameplay itself, and no knowledge of external context, you would say that based on Lance's performance, he likely wouldn't make the roster. The only reason this is not the case is because everyone knows how high Lance was drafted and what the Niners gave up for him, so they keep trying to cling onto any threat of hope or promise, giving him every excuse in the book. But just use your eyes, the guy is the 3rd best qb on the team, without question. It shouldnt matter that he cost us alot, hes just not good and he is not worth keeping. McCoy hit the nail on the head, he has no business in the league right now, i dont know how much more evident it can be.
3rd year quarterback and still can’t read a NFL defense is a major red flag 🚩. Makes me wonder how much film Trey Lance actually studies and how dedicated he actually is. You can say “He needs more reps, he sat out a couple of seasons” well by saying that you’re basically admitting Trey Lance entered the draft, took the money and ran with it. Red flags everywhere 🚩 🚩🚩. He looks good throwing practice balls and hitting the weights. Trey Lance may be the biggest QB bust since Jamarcus Russell, as a 49ers fan I really hope that’s not the case. If you ask me, Trey Lance is now competing against Sam Darnold for QB2, QB1 is out of the picture.
I actually agree with them a little. Trey’s ability as a dual threat was way overstated. He has average speed for a QB. I think his film popped because he was going against Division II opponents. Trey has above average arm strength but isn’t accurate. If he can learn defenses and improve his accuracy, he might be able to stay in the NFL. I’m skeptical and I think it’s more likely he’s out of the league after 4/5 years. He’ll get a camp invite after the niners let him go but I don’t think he makes another roster. This is a colossal fail by Lynch but his job might be saved due to the brilliance of Shanahan and the out of nowhere emergence of Purdy.
Average speed for a QB? Lance ran a 4.92 40 yards dash. Purdy ran 4.84, but his 10 yard split is 1.55, which puts him in the 90th percentile. Arm strength is another metric that is way overblown. Bill Walsh said that accuracy, touch, and decision making were more important. Purdy has higher velocity on his throws than either Brees or Lamar Jackson. Also, 86% of all NFL throws are within 20 yards and Purdy set an NFL record for completion percentage on intermediate throws, defined as 11-20 yards.
Brad, I think the criticism isn’t based just on Sunday’s game. Even to most of us fans is obvious that he’s not close to being were he needs to be. A good throw here and there during practice is not the same as a game where you have a real pass rush. 49ers made a mistake to trade up not knowing which QB they were going to pick.
Processing, recognizing, and accuracy are more important than throwing a long pass. And his running ability is not as good as advertised. Below average speed and doesn’t have pocket awareness
@@apolloorosco6852 I agree. Kaep was a really good QB, but I don’t think he was fully committed to football towards the end of his career. Which unfortunately was too early in his career. KL and JL had to move on and change the culture in the locker room. I’d do the same
Trey was running a offence that was made for a drop back passer ,, Trey was never that .. plus he knews the o-line is very weak,, I like to see any other those people out there talking back about his play that game. step out and try to do it you self with the same offence ,, give him the true test,, with all starters like how Brook with get ... then and then you see where he at ... until then ... SHUT THE HELL UP HATERS !!!!
This happens every damn year. Some team overreaches and overpays for a QB in round 1, then the player gets blamed when it doesn't pan out. Trey Lance didn't trade up to take Trey Lance. Right now he couldn't start in the XFL.
I think they are not the only ones, all of the 49era players know that. That's why they couldn't contain their emotions when Lance got injured last season and Garoppolo came in, they weren't happy that Lance got injured, just happy he wasn't on the field anymore. It was obvious by the 49ers players reaction that they knew Lance had no business being on the field. They have seen a lot of him and they know he is no good. Anyone who has seen Lance play and really understands football and is willing to give an honest opinion of him should know that by now. Will he become good one day? It's possible, but I think it's highly unlikely.
Instead of unloading on Lance, you should be asking the question who is the dumbass who confused this kid for a top flight QB and traded the farm for him. Lance didn't choose to be drafted #3
Agreed. I think the coaching staff was concerned going into pre-season LAST year with Trey Lance that he wasn't picking up on the fundamentals of QB'ing in this league, which is why they brought back Jimmy G after they basically did everything to show him the door in the offseason. The coaching staff and the organization was walking the tight rope of having committed to TL to be the starter going into the season, but I think in reality he was on a very short leash with Jimmy G as the backup. Their saving grace was that TL got hurt early into the 2nd game of the season, which took the decision making out of their hand. And from that point, they knew the TL experiment was over. Going into this season, they brought in Sam Darnold to be the #1 backup and insurance for Purdy. He was NOT brought in to compete with TL. I believe they had already made the decision to move off of TL, tried offload him before the draft, and then kept him through pre-season and gave him reps to increase his value as much as possible before they traded him.
@@adidasut11 if what you are saying is true, they are even bigger fool than I thought. You just name Lance Qb1 if you have no faith in him just to save face. What if he does not get hurt but holds the team back? And how signing darnold and staging a competition increase his trade value? Who these fools want to fool? When you give up on a player you traded 3 first round after just 4 games, there are too many question marks. It smells too fishy.
Every QB in the NFL wants to be in the 49ers (especially rookie QBs) as they know they can go to the NEXT LEVEL. Trey Lance is lucky to be in the 49ers but he is NOT READY for the NFL
This is missed by a lot of ppl, it’s a huge indictment on Trey regardless of what anybody says.. and anybody who would want Trey over Shanahan is out of their minds
@@ev-x29284I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you have no reason to believe he's going to be better. He's demonstrated that he doesn't belong at this level.
Where are Trey Fanboys now. The coaching staff has never been in on him nor his teammates. The analysists don't like his game and former players even think he doesn't belong in the NFL. It's kinda obvious imo the whole drafting of Trey was wrong. The one thing he was supposed to have even isn't there. Where is the speed. Brock is quicker avoiding the rush. The Niners are gonna get nothing for him so just cut him and take the hit. I would rather have Allen as QB 3. Trey fanboys it's time to put those jerseys in the closet. It's over.
The real problem is analyst and scouts before the drafts. They are now looking for “freak athletes” without taking into consideration they level of talent they played against or the people they had around them. That’s why everyone who wasn’t an ISU fan was shocked about Purdys play last year.
Trey gotta put his big boy pants on and go out there and make plays. Just like Josh Allen said in his commercial for Trey when he was drafted. Bruh just get out there and make plays!

Personally, I agree. Everything they said is what I've been saying since his draft night. It's not fully his fault, but why in the [censored per RU-vid] would you take a QB 3rd overall with very little experience and put him on a "win now" team? I wanted Mac Jones (or at least Fields since he played for a good school and had experience), his play style would've been great for us, this is why when I saw how Purdy played against the Packers in preseason, he instantly became my favorite QB. Smart, accurate, poised, pocket/mobile when needed to be qbs that look to throw to any of our elite recivers, and that can read defenses is what this team needed. But everyone had to have a Running QB so badly, everyone had to bring race into this discussion as if skin color makes you any more or less of a player. Just to clearify things before everyone starts with the name-calling, i dont want Trey to fail, I want all of the Niners QBs to play well and stay healthy. Yes, Purdy is my favorite and I want to see him continue to be our starter and franchise QB, but I still want Trey to show us SOMETHING. I don't THINK he will, I'm praying im wrong and I get called out for my takes. However, realistically I just don't see any change. It's Trey's 3rd year and we still haven't seen much improvement, and that experience needed to be developed in college or on another team that is in rebuild mode rn, not when we're soo damn close to the main prize.
@1who4me Shanahan picked Lance. There was an interview with Lynch about it. You should look it up. It almost seemed like Shanahan had more power than Lynch and I think he still does. I say that because when the team was about to hire Shanahan as the hc, they didn't have a gm yet. According to Lynch, he, for the lack of a better word, volunteered for the position and to work hand in hand with Shanahan. This was due to the previous hc and gm circus show. I'm sure you remember that.
Good idea. The would be cool if the NFL could affiliate with the XFL or USFL or both for a G-League type system. But with the nature of Football with the injuries, the money invested in the players, and the Player's Union I don't think it can ever happen sadly. Cuz a guy Lance could really use the reps at a lower, slower level.
They are elite veterans. Who know the X’s and O’s of the game. Just because their takes don’t align with 49er RU-vid “analysts” reporting from their basements doesn’t mean they are wrong or being mean. It means you should probably change who you’re getting your info from.
Finished up the 49ers game and the negative talk about Trey Lance is overblown Trey Lance went 10/15 (one drop by Mason btw) and people are acting like he went 2/25 with 6 INTs. Entire offense didn’t play well. Fumbles, dropped passes, blown protections. He had three throws that were bad but coachable moments but also had three high level completions Remember it’s just preseason y’all calm down
If you're going to point to drops, then you should also point to the two drops by Raider defenders, including one who "dropped" a TD pass right into the belly of a Niner. Lance's stat line should've been 9/15, 100 yards and two INTs, if we're being honest. There's a reason people are criticizing Lance's performance and it's because they know his stats for the game don't tell the story about how poorly he played.
They low key kinda right tho. The man has had the playbook for 3 years now. Youre fully healthy and you’re starting in a preseason game where you should be dominating against second and third stringers. I agree if the NFL had a G league that is where he should be right now, until he proves otherwise.
Never has a young player gotten written off faster after a handful of starts and preseason games. Can’t use the race card because Trey gets hates from everyone. The kid has got hurt twice which has severely slowed his development. I still feel Treys story is far from finished but man people are burying him.
The NFL is writing the script for Trey, he's done with this team. He'll go to the vikings home town kidding coming back home to lead the vikings and they'll have the 49ers vs vikings in the playoffs. Trey gets revenge on the team that tried to ruin his career. The 49ers are going to go after kirk cousins next year because Purdy isn't it.
The AZ Cardinals moved off of Josh Rosen after ONE YEAR! The 49ers coaches have seen more than enough in practice and games to know that they have with Trey. Problem is that he's still owed $19 million in guaranteed money over the next two years. Even if they trade Lance, the 49ers will still take a $5.4 million dead cap hit for the next to years, but save close to $8 million.
I don’t understand why they made TL QB 1 over Jimmy G and why they kept him around after he lost to the 3 - 14 bears. Last year. I would’ve kept Jimmy and dropped Trey.
Was rooting for Trey, but this is so sloppy all around. O line was terrible, but he held the ball too long. All that talk about him improving his mechanics and the ball is still wobbly.
Oh it was most definitely people in his ear talking it up. But yes, he should've stayed in school to better his NFL career, cause his inexperience is showing big time.
@@Kolohe56He was selected third overall, which completely justifies his decision. And, frankly, another year in college wouldn't have made much of a difference in his game. Because it would not have greatly improved the aspects of his game in which he is deficient: processing quickly, pocket presence, anticipation, quick release, accuracy, etc. These are not things that come naturally to him, as they do to Purdy or Aidan O'Connell, for example, and I doubt he'll ever be able to overcome them sufficiently to be a starter in this league.
@@greggnelson9334Assuming he didn't blow all of his money. Most bad 1st round picks go broke after leaving the NFL. Too much partying and too much waisted spending.
They only think he was looking at the out route, when it looked like he was faking the throw to the out so he could hit the hole. However before he could even throw he took a sack. That won't happen with a 1st team OL. This guy has thrown barely 100 passes in the NFL.. what he is or isn't has yet to been seen. Take the pressure off him and let him chill with a team and build up and we could see a very different player in the future. I think the 49ers ruined his chances with them with how he was managed with his first year and injury. No one can see the future but that's not how you handle a 1st round QB. Maybe its just me that sees it this way.. I imagine him being good for another team that works with him.
Harsh but thats life. When i watched on sunday i thought we were going to see what ive been hearing content creators say when attending practice, "he looks improved." I didnt see that sunday. This is why i ran with jimmy. He won games. I dont want Ls to let trey learn how to be an nfl qb. Its WAY more enjoyable as a fan to see my team actually in the hunt for a sb...even though some fans will say with brock it will never happen. I think it will happen with brock and that it will NEVER happen with trey. Trey might be out of the league next season.
Blame 49ers GM for wasting so many number 1 picks on a guy who never played against competition. If Trey were a second round gamble based on his physical skills.... maybe that would have made sense. The team that could have drafted Patrick Mahomes (and several other top QBs after that) went CRAZY for an unproven QB. 😂
Trey Lance was still falling asleep on the job on game day last week. He was not mentally and physically ready on game day. I can see the shadow of Giovanni Carmazzi following Trey Lance wherever he goes on football field. We would like to give him another chance in the next game before we put one more nail in the coffin of his NFL career. I just can't wait to see his performance against the Broncos on this Saturday afternoon at Levi's Stadium.
The thing I appreciate is that they're telling the truth, unbiased and brutal. What breaks my heart is if any of them were white, the "media" would be calling these statements "raysis" and would coddle Lance, perpetuating the problems and issues. QB is hard and GOOD passing is quick thinking, understanding what you're LOOKING at. People think this 'dual threat' QB/retardo rugby is the "evolution" of the game when it's the OPPOSITE. It's how the NFL was before the forward pass, is DEVOLVING, dumbing down and it erodes the team concept, starving RB's and WR's of valuable roles.
@@ytyahudah5046, yes that’s a rookie record that still stands today. Trey Lance was not given a fair shot, he was not given enough reps to improve as a young player.
Some players learn from experience. Just like some people learn from life experiences. Lance has never had a chance to get in-game experience. In his first season, he didn't play because Jimmy G was in there. 2nd season, it was an injury.
The 49ers are ready to win. We do not have the luxury of letting an unprepared QB grow and progress. I hope Trey gets an opportunity to grow somewhere else.
Niners should cut lance, at this point they are just letting him get bullied every week. I feel like lance is the nerdy kid everyone picks on in high school, just let the dude move to a different team where he can actually have a chance. This is just mean.
Their take is way over the top and disrespectful especially as a former player. When Josh Allen was completing 55% of his passes nobody criticized him he was allowed to develop and get experience. Why Kyle? A coach who is afraid to take the time necessary to develop a raw QB drafted him makes no sense! Trey is not a timing QB he's improvisational. Guess what? Most great QBs are improvisational! I bet you anything had Kyle drafted Watson or Mahomes neither would have become the stars they became because Kyle thinks he can scheme and time everything.
The difference is the bills weren’t a very good team at the same. So it wasn’t a big deal to let Josh Allen to play as much as he did plus Allen was healthy. Shanahan prolly still would’ve stuck with him if he hadn’t got hurt in his first two years. 49ers also happened to draft a qb the year after too. A combination of things is making this a bad fit for him.
Literally name 1 thing that he does well. Just one. I myself can look good throwing a football in practice. He has zero particular skills other than having a decent arm
Love that 3 pretty average former players that never played QB talking about a player in preseason that hasn't seen much action. They acting like its mid season or something. Instead of saying things he needs to work on they tearing down the kid.
Shanahan hasn’t developed a single quarterback while here in San Francisco, Purdy was all luck and had 4 years I. College. Shanahan is an offensive genius but he’s nowhere near a quarterback whisperer and it hurts to say because I’m a huge 49er fan
Well keep crying cuz you guys all sound goofy when you say stuff like that not every quarterback is going to pan out and trade-lance might not have panned out whether Kyle was a quarterback of whisper or not. It's not like all these quarterback whispers get people to do stuff all the time
I have to disagree on not being a QB Whisperer as several QBs had their best years under him and without him they weren't as great. Part of the issue is he is the head coach at SF which means someone else needs to spend more time with the QB. But I also think he got the best out of Jimmy and probably will do the same with Purdy. I do not think Trey has the head or talent for the Pro game. He can take partial blame for drafting Trey but I think he really wanted Mac according to some reports. Also, Jimmy was not his choice.
How was Purdy doing what he did last year luck? He showed he had elite IQ as a rookie, underrated athleticism, and his confidence is thru the roof. Not an ideal qb but he gives us the best chance to win right now and he looked really good doing it.
@@juiceman8990 Purdy runs a faster 40 yard dash than Lance, his 10 yard split time of 1.55 seconds puts him in the 90th percentile, and his ball velocity is faster than Drew Brees and Lamar Jackson. Purdy has more than enough athletic ability to play QB in the NFL.
If Trey was good, he would look better than what he put on tape. He should of been the best player on the field using your logic. He should of stood out as a man amongst boys. But that never showed. He looked scared and uncomfortable. The Raiders back up QB looked way better and he is a rookie!
I would have to agree. I don’t think he belongs in the NFL!! he has shown he is not prepared or ready!!! Zero awareness!! Cannot read a defense whatsoever!!! And too much hesitation!!!! All I can say at this point is I’m glad we let him go!! have fun with him Dallas😂
Trey was drafted to fill a position based on social ideology, not on actual ability. It’s just that simple. They were filling a position based on skin color rather than who was most qualified. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Being very hard on him I like Trey Lance he seems to be a likable person but I don't think he's confident right now but I hope he can prove people wrong right now he's too hesitant to let it loose don't see the running ability being used not even trying it but don't know but I truly wish him the best
The 49'ers set the record of how not to draft a quarter back. The old saying goes stats don't lie. Trey did not have enough snaps at the college level to be a 1st round qb pick !
I agree with the “put him in the G league” approach. In Euro soccer they do this thing called “loaning” players and basically a large club with give a player to a smaller club in a worse league so that player can get real game time. I wish the 9ers could send Trey to the cfl or XFL for a bit and then bring him back.
Dude Trey Lance didn’t play in a big conference. I’m a big Niner fan and have been disappointed every time he had a start at QB1. Just feel it was such a waste giving up all those picks in a big draft year.
He's a bust and that's not the worst part. Brock was last picked and plays like a QB1, which is lucky and great for the niners. The worst part is they don't know how to draft a proper QB.
I don’t blame Lance for not being good. He reminds me of Deshon Kizer. Kizer received all this hype of being a top 5 pick and after watching him struggle in his final year at Notre Dame, he ended up being a second round pick and didn’t pan out. Lance couldn’t dominate Missouri Valley defenses. Aside from from his no interceptions, his numbers were pretty mediocre. Lance should have been a 3rd round pick. Teams haven’t learned anything from history and continue to take these overhyped QB’s with their top 5 picks, which hasn’t produced much stardom in recent years. Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold or Marcus Mariota. The top 5 picks have produced way more busts at the QB position than success, but teams continue to do it and this is what happens. Drafting a 5’8 QB first overall is never a good idea, yet the Cardinals did it and now in hindsight, it shouldn’t happen again. Then Carolina does it just a few years later with Young, who is 5’9. Running QB’s don’t win. Didn’t work with Newton, Vick, Mariota, Vince Young, Tebow or Kaepernick. Yet people continue to draft them early and often.
I never understood this draft pick from day one. I saw a long arm motion and a propensity to pull the ball down and run before the play develops. Major flaws
All this falls on Trey's shoulder. He has not improved from season 1. The way he played against the Raiders was awful. He needs to be on the Falcons or similar team. He's not ready for the bright lights.
The injury was extremely unfortunate but he just doesn't have enough playing experience even going back to college. He'd have a great future in the XFL.
He’ll never be “ok”, he’s a 3rd year infant who can’t prove he belongs in the league. You pathetic cultists along with the worthless hack media only compound the issue.
where will he get these game reps? Not in SF unless we have a repeat of QB injuries. No one is going to take on this project unless they get him for next to nothing. Even then this guy's ceiling is 2nd string on a crappy team if hes lucky.
@@JimmyRussle your feelings got involved all i said is he needs live reps whether that's here or somewhere else nobody gets better unless you in live action, not 7 on 7's, with 4or5 rep's in practice,i hope Brock is good don't know for sure got away with a lot of mistakes last year but only time will tell and sure you are convinced the more he plays the better he will get, that's how it goes
I hate that show, especially Shady but I can't disagree. He should be in a G League (*played another year or two in college). I know the rule most of the time is, if you're a high draft pick you don't wait, but in his case he should've waited. Blame whoever / whatever, greed, agent, family, whoever was advising him, scouts, Niners for drafting him so high...whatever the case may be, Trey coming out was too early. He'll be financially set for life if he's good with his money, but at the cost of a potentially good long career.
MOST old school 9er fans remember, Steve Young was NOT a HOFer when he started his career. Bill Walsh and Carmen Policy struck gold when they stole Young from the Buccaneers for a bag of beans and old sweaty gym socks. Young worked hard, improved his mechanics and had the brass believe in the process. AND had Jerry Rice. The kinda threw Joe Cool out the back door. Kinda disrespectful. Trey cost the 49er organization a ton of draft capital. Does anyone remember Jim Drunkenmiller?
You left out the part where the dude says "One of the draft picks they gave away to trade up to get Trey, the Dallas Cowboys used to draft Micah Parsons". As soon as that was said, it was a declaration that the end of the Shanahan/Lynch era begins at this moment.
I doubt that the 49ers would have gone LB that high, but they had needs at CB, OL, TE. Both Rashawn Slater and Alijah Vera-Tucker were available at pick no. 12 and both are great players on the OL.
You can’t ruin anything that was never good to begin with. Lance is a bust. He should just be stoked he ripped off the Niners into drafting him so high and paying him a lot.
@@hx1234 no bs. Watch the game. He’s not NFL caliber. He played that one good year to trick everybody into thinking he was a top pick and of course the 49ers fell for it. So there is blame on them as well, but Lance knew he wasn’t going to make it so cashed in on his opportunity.
3rd year and he has not changed at all and I never believed he should be qb1…never…if I could share screenshots of messages between my son and I over the years I could prove this. I also thought the game was too fast for Trey and he will almost always opt to keep the ball and get sacked, try to run it, or pass the ball too late. ALSO, I would be able to prove that I believed Purdy was going to be what he was last year and when Jimmy G went down(even though I was sad) I was not worried about the rest of the season. This season though, I have question marks only because you can never know how a player will react after getter injured.
@@jonnyvelocityat some point you have to recognize that's on him. NFL coaches get paid to put the best team on the field. Nobody is invested in watching a team tank a season just to see if maybe, possibly, perhaps, one day one player finally clicks and puts it all together. This isn't YAFL, and Shanahan isn't Lance's daddy-coach.
I was pissed when SF gave so much away for a guy who played only about 1 season in college and drafted him #3 overall. I was them pissed that they traded him to Dallas. WTF!!
