It says in Quran 2:62, that those who are Jews, Christians, or Sabeans who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness will have their reward. I would argue that this verse outlines the essence of what Prophet Muhammad taught and what it is to be a Muslim (submission to Allah).

Malcolm X DID IN FACT make the Muhammad Speaks newspaper in the basement of his home, and that fact was proudly spoken by Minister FARRAKHAN, himself. This Imam speaking isn't lying. The prophet of islam happened to be an arab and the teachings of islam were revealed to him in arabic and nowhere did it say that Allah was a man called fard.

I was at the MMM and most of the people there were not even Muslim in the Muslim world in general Farrakhan is unheard of and even in countries that recognize Farrakhan he is not allowed to teach there or sell his books. Even Qadaffi wouldn't let Farrakhan teach in Libya.

What Siraj assumes is that there is real legitimacy in being "orthodox". Orthodox simply means, 'Ortho'= correct; 'dox'=opinion. But how is someone's opinion correct? Who says?? Consensus? Convention, the ulema, the "ijma"? "Real" Islam?? This was something defined and codified centuries after Muhammad died -by other men. Islam means to acknowledge the reality of Allah in peace. It is a mind-state, a way of life, not a bunch of man-made religious laws and doctrines. No prophet was 'orthodox'.

No validity in your statements. The MMM was not a muslim-only event. It was an event for black men, i.e. the title itself. I am not concerned whatsoever in valuing someone that teaches or helps or aids me, by looking at the opinions of people who have not helped, taught, or aided me. Eric W-Believe it or not the NOI probably is not far from the truth with this spaceship thing. UFO's have been sighted as far back as the Egyptians, we are not the only ones here. NOI not only talks about the ship but describes in detail the dimensions of the ship. Was Muhammad to be the last prophet ever in the next thousands of years? As sunni scholars tell us? What does seal of the prophets mean? [Khatim], doesn't mean last. In one of his sayings the Holy ProphetSAW calls his uncle, Hadhrat Abbasra, Khatamul Muhajireen (see Kanzul Ommal, Vol. VI, p. 178). But it does not mean that Abbas was the last Muhajir (refugee) of the whole Muslim world. Similarly, Hadhrat Ali(ra) is called Khatamul Auliya (see Tafsir Safi under the Quranic verse 33:41). Ibn Khaldun says this phrase is understood to mean that Ali was a perfect saint and not the last (see Muqaddama, Vol. II pp. 165-167). But it's even more clear here: Hazrat Ayesha (ra), whose position is well known, says The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Say he is the Seal of the Prophets but do not say that there is no prophet after him". (Takmala Majmaul Bihar, p. 88)

I would advise all of you to review the True Historical Origin of this 7th century doctrine.
