Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 18 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible concerning his grandfather's death. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started this RU-vid Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. Through the music and the stories he began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Having been lost and now found, this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him.
Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. He is a man on a mission to spread the love of God to everyone that comes to this channel. Shmuel referenced Job when talking with Jesus. Eden also is quoting Job when she says God "gives and takes away." The Chosen is telling us to notice Job! Job says of God in 9:8: "He alone stretches out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea" ... this description of God is why Jesus had to walk on water.

I have been following you for a couple of years now, came across your feed and was curious that you were a non Christian,I watched as I seen God work in your life!that night you were doing the song about “so will “I, I looked over and saw my 3year old grandson with his hands in the air,eyes closed,worshiping!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE CHOSEN! I have watched it at least 50 times, I LOVE how you discuss it,and how much empathy you have for people! The timing of this episode couldn't have been any better. I've been going through a lot of stuff for the past eight months or so, it has been the darkest time in my entire life. I got the chance to see it in theaters and it was everything I could do to not just break down at the walking on the water scene. Simon's questions were similar to questions I've had over these past eight months. I've been a follower of Christ since I was a teenager, and I grew up in the church as a whole... yet, I was still struggling with questions and frustrations with God that I thought I'd never truly struggle with. It was like these words were being spoken directly to me. And you know what? After I saw it, not only did it create a paradigm shift in the way I viewed the trials but I kid you not: a week later, that storm suddenly left just as quickly as it did when Jesus said, "Peace, be still!" Are things perfect for me now? No, but I'm finally at peace after rowing on the sea for eight months, I finally feel His embrace after sinking under those waves. And like Job, who Shmuel mentioned, I feel like God is blessing me beyond what I've lost because I refused to curse God and die (even though I DID have a lot of frustrations with Him), I knew in my heart that He was doing something even though it absolutely SUCKED being in that moment of pain. This episode wasn't the ONLY thing that helped me with these struggles but man, it was the turning point of this struggle and, if I'm being honest, perhaps it was the turning point of my life!

When Rabbi Yussif said a joyful Psalm wouldn't be truthful, or what Eden needed, it reminded me of this verse from Proverbs 25. 20 Whoever sings songs to a heavy heart is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, and like vinegar on soda. Sometimes we need the time to grief and deal with the emotions before we can come through to the other side.

Last year I became aware that I was emotionally numb and I didn't understand why but I was able to trace it back to 2015-2016 when it started I'd had 3 miscarriages. The first one shattered my world and I grieved so heavily for months but as I came out of it my life was radically changed in a good way and then the 2nd and 3rd happened and I remembered how dark it had gotten through the first one fear took over and I didn't want to feel that soul crushing darkness again so I just put it away and went on like everything was fine until it wasn't and everything started falling apart. I remember spending months asking God why I was numb and to help me fix it and not let my heart be hardened and then this past December the dam broke and it all fell on me like a ton of bricks, I understood I was suffering from grief and just as quickly as I understood I heard God say it's time to let go and I could feel it all taken away. The last few months have been a journey of identifying emotions relearning how to let myself feel and work through them. It's particularly difficult with negative emotions because I have the habit of metaphorically running away and hiding from it, after 7 years of only feeling numb it's overwhelming to feel again but God is giving me the courage to face it or sometimes just be still and let it pass. We absolutely need to grieve or like me we can get stuck in the middle and that suffering can seep out and poison everything around us and rob us of the joys in life. I don't yet know why I needed to take the hard road but one truth I'm always reminded of is this is a part of the refining process to make me more valuable that rubies and soon I'll look back at this time a know the bigger picture of what I'm being prepared for.

I found the Chosen a few weeks ago and watched it and was absolutely astounded at the numerous messages God had in there that felt specific to me and things that are or have happened in my life. (On a side note, one of the sweetest and precious times I've seen this series effect on others was one video of a stadium filled with Madagascar orphans watching the series in their own language, so beautiful!) There have been multiple times that something you've observed or discussed or even your own discovery of what God is saying to you has blessed me or spoken to me. Specifically today, you saying that God walks on what drowns us... that hit home hard! Just to add, the part where you discuss about Being emptied of world dirt, burdens. Psalm 51. I like it better in NIV translation 😊 but when I'm burdened and I feel like I'm covered in sin, I go back to God's Grace to wash me of all of it through Jesus 🙏😊

My Christian friends, remember to be happy, even when many kinds of trouble happen to you. Troubles can help you. God wants to see if you really trust him. Your faith in God will become stronger as a result of these troubles. So you should continue to trust God all the way to the end. Then you will grow as a believer. You will become completely how you should be. You will not need anything more. But maybe you need to know how to be wise. Then ask God to help you. He is ready to give everyone what they need. And he never says that it is wrong to ask. So, God will help you to be wise. But when you ask God for something, you must trust him completely. Do not have other ideas in your mind. Anybody who is not sure that God will help him, is like the water that is in the sea. The wind blows the water one way and then it blows the water another way.
