Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 18 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions about the bible concerning his grandfather's death. He identified as an Atheist for 12 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started this RU-vid Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. Through the music and the stories he began to learn more about Christ and considers himself a Student of Christ. Having been lost and now found, this channel is like a lost and found for lost sheep, Leonardo's goal is to create a safe space where God can find those who are yearning for Him.
Leonardo wants to remind followers of Christ to love one another as they were commanded. He is a man on a mission to spread the love of God to everyone that comes to this channel. Whether you come to stay or are just passing by, we pray your soul is touched by The Holy Spirit and that you are changed forever! Matthew is a truly a gift of GOD, thats why he was chosen one .

I think people should ease up a bit off of Judas. JESUS chose him, therefore JESUS loved him (even after he betrayed HIM), as he does us. Yes, Judas betrayed our LORD, but if he hadn't someone else would have been Judas (it had to happen for the redemption process a/k/a the cross and it's finished work). We seem to forget that although what he did (through his betrayal) was wrong, it is no different in ALL of us at one time or another betraying JESUS in our actions and deeds. We betray HIM when we do not obey his WORD even though we know what HIS WORD says for us to do (if we are Christians). Judas could have been redeemed just like Peter who denied HIM, however, Peter repented but the BIBLE does not say that Judas did. We sometimes in our remarks paint Judas as this horrible person in personality because of what he did, but is that truly the Christian thing to say or think? Romans 3:23
@j.wesleyprice6620
@j.wesleyprice6620 Год назад
Jesus said it would have been better for Judas if he had never been born. Does Jesus say that equally to all of us, if Judas was no worse than us, as you say?
@yoshekaalford2865
@yoshekaalford2865 Год назад
@@j.wesleyprice6620 That is not what I am saying at all. JESUS said that regarding him because Judas did not repent and in his unrepentent state he committed suicide, (however Peter repented). If one would interpret my comment in it's entirety, I was simply saying that we are human and make mistakes/sin daily just as Judas did, (unless we deem ourselves perfect like CHRIST, however deep down we know that notion is not true AT ALL) and also that our lives are no better than people in the BIBLE who made mistakes.

Brother I am only 15 mins in and you paused to talk about worries ...i want to share a miracle from God. I was filled with worry last year when my adult son lost his life in an accident. I didn't know how I was going to bury him... I don't work, and his father and I were sharing this burden as we are no longer together. I prayed hard for God to help me find a way. Out of the blue my mother called and said she would cover my half... I called his father to tell him I would have the money by the end of the week and he told me the insurance company sent a cheque that would cover the entire cost.... My son's girlfriend had him added to her policy 2 days before he died...God knew what we needed before it even happened... God is great..all the time🙏

I worked with abused, neglected & delinquent kids for 25 years before I retired. One of my all time favorite kids was a young man who came from a very weird family situation. It turned out he couldn't remain in regular or therapeutic foster homes, or even a group home because of his behavioral quirks & attitude. So he was placed into a secured therapeutic & medical center for emotional & behavioral treatment. I hated using places like that & visited the few kids I had in them often - even if it meant unpaid overtime. He was an extremely intelligent 12 year old kid with a massively high IQ but had behaviors of a 4 - 6 year old and did things just to tick people off. When I told him I knew he was smarter than he acted he would just grin. Beautiful smile! One day in the courtroom for a 6 month placement review, he asked me when he could leave the facility that had then been his home for almost 3 years! I advised him that when his behaviors stopped because he thought they were stupid or he didn't even think about doing them, not for fear of discipline but because he'd think, "Why would anyone do THAT?", it would be time for him to move on. He smiled that beautiful smile & said, "Wow! I'm gonna be there for a long time, aren't I?" I think sometimes we're a lot like that with God, and I think my believing that enabled me to successfully work with some very difficult children. What happened to him, you ask? He developed an independent relationship with his parents & moved into a regular foster home. He sang with his high school choir at Carnegie Hall in NYC 🗽 his senior year & graduated with honors and an Associates Degree from our local Jr College in the same year. He went on to obtain a PhD in hydraulics & computer network design & works on and designs big passenger jets. He's been married for 12 years and has 3 beautiful children. He's an amazing young millennial! 💖 Remember - You never know which seeds you plant will grow into healthy wheat! Just plant the seeds - God will take care of the rest. 🤗

“If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others?” This struck me as these last 2 weeks we’ve (my church) fed the ones society at best ignores, at worst despises. The homeless, the alcoholics, the street walkers, the drug addicts, the lonely, etc. He’s teaching me not to judge. I was raised in a middle class (but very abusive) family and I have hated that some of my mother’s values rubbed off on me. However having been involved for over a year now with my church’s soup kitchen I’ve enjoyed helping to serve 76 people on Monday and 26 today with a 6 course meal. Ive learnt a valuable lesson, Jesus loves us all, including me. ❤

He asks us to turn the other cheek and love our enemies because he is teaching us to trust God. Let God defend us rather than defend ourselves, because God is just and he knows everything, but we do not know everything and cannot be just. If we meet insult and attack with love we diffuse it. When we meet fire with fire we only burn the house down!
@valeriefields7902
@valeriefields7902 Год назад
Re: heaping hot coals on your enemy's head. Heard a different take on this altogether from a missionary from the middle east. He said that back then each household tried to keep a fire from going out, but sometimes it did. When the fire did die out, a person would go to a neighbor, and ask for coals, take them home carrying them on a clay pot on his head and relit his fire. Spreading God's light (and kingdom).

Another insight into turn the other cheek, back in those times everyone was right handed and the left hand was unclean. Usually a backhand was used as a means to demean or insult whoever was being slapped. A palm slap was used for equals. So if you turned the other cheek so only left was shown it forced them to either use left hand which was unclean for both or to palm slap you making you an equal.

Joanna (the woman who gave expensive shawl): From Luke 8:1-3 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.

One thing I have learned in these 3 years is that “ trials test and strengthen our faith which unless tested stagnation occurs, not growth” I must be growing because the enemy is scared; if I’m focused on those “ issues”, I take my “ eyes!” off Jesus!

I think because of the humor of the line about cinnamon cakes, we don't realize right way that Big James seemed to have missed or still has yet to 'not worry about what he will eat' as Jesus said in the Sermon. I can relate, and to not being anxious, especially about money, too (like Jesus seemed to have said to Judas, Zebedee, and Tamar in the close ups). We all develop in our understanding and application at different stages and speeds. Grace is necessary. What a gift! Than you, Lord, for Your grace and patience with us as we grow. Help us to be like You and do the same with others. Amen

What I’ve learned is that Shiva is the Jewish tradition of grief of losing a family member. So his father had Shiva as if Matthew actually died because of his choice. And some Jews today do that to certain family members that chose to accept Jesus is their Lord.

Two other things that may have flown under the radar is how sweetly Mary Magdalene complimented Matthew after he left. We can't forget about Mary and Matthew's relationship brewing. lol Then there's Judas' conversation with his sister. He says that if Jesus is The Messiah, then He won't be killed, which is yet another testament to the brilliant writing partially explaining (besides Satan entering him) WHY Judas' could have been motivated to identify Jesus to the soldiers. He also says he doesn't know when or IF he'll be back. We all know that he doesn't come back, but THANK GOD that Jesus died for him, too! It's just too bad he didn't hold on long enough to seek forgiveness from his brother disciples and explain to them what his reasoning was so they could write it down, tell us. Without understanding God's grace (withholding what we deserve), most people tend to have a limited view and understanding of Judas. Thank God for grace!!

You asked about Judas and the portrayal of him. I think it was a great portrayal. Judas had to make a choice like we all do, and he chose to do the wrong thing. The word of God says in Luke 22:3 that Satan entered Judas and it was then that he conspired with the chief priest to betray Jesus. We all are capable of being a Judas.

They are kissing an ornament that holds the word of GOD. Technically the tradition is to touch the ornament then put your hand to your lips (kiss) so that you carry the word of GOD when entering and exiting the home. A reminder to mind the word, carry the word & speak the word...to behave in the way we should.

I love your input into the show first of all. This is almost a church the way it should be disciples gathered and talking about Jesus and asking questions, praying for one another, it is just the love and compassion He wants us to have. Not legalistic, no judgement, no man-imposed rules. This feels pure, as the church of old. While it is a cyber gathering you have invited us all into your home, to be a part of your family, and we have become a family. I watch and rewatch your chosen series to see the beauty in your interaction with people, rehash your insights, and contemplate my own beliefs and interpretations. The question at about 1:30:00 about do we have an issue with Judas be portrayed as a good guy. My personal opinion, and it comes through learning about who Jesus is, would be no I don't have an issue with that. There is not enough evidence into the personality of Judas (unless someone else knows of writings I have missed. Please share if you do.) Judas was confused, from my understanding, as to why Jesus was there or what He would be and that is shown in the show, but so did Zee, Simon, and several of the disciples, i.e. the sons of thunder wanting to call down fire to punish those disrespecting the King of Kings. Judas in the scriptures does value money and displays how we all have fallen short by not trusting, seeking our own desires, making Jesus what we want him to be, and many more incorrect actions and understandings. I first viewed this character as the betrayer the first time I saw these episodes through the lens of knowing what he was going to eventually do, but through meditation on the subject came to this conclusion. What was Judas's biggest mistake? Was it the betrayal? Have we not all betrayed Christ and for lack of a better way of putting it spat on the gift of grace? Did Simon not betray Christ by denying him? Mary betrayed Him, in the show, by running off and basically saying I am to broken for Him to fix (lack of faith and self judgement. If He forgives me and I don't forgive myself then I am basically saying the gift at the cross wasn't enough), We can see betrayal in all at some point and there are 4 fingers pointing at me because I am saying this with a closed fist and 4 fingers pointing at me. But where did Judas fail where so many succeed? He failed in the end by judging himself and not running to Christ for forgiveness! I think that is what the show is teaching us about Judas as well as how future episodes will show what taking matters into our own hands without reaching out to Jesus for wisdom before we act produces. Judas had to do what he did, it fulfilled prophesy, it set into motion the events that led to our salvation, it was ordained by God to happen as it did, but where He made his critical mistake was not seeking the master for forgiveness. Just my opinion. To carry it even further if we are emulating Christ and trying to be an image of Him on earth and we can't forgive then we fail, that means, and I am nowhere near this level, but it means when someone hurts my son I must forgive them, when someone hurts me I must forgive them, the sermon on the mount when I am asked I must give, I must go that extra mile, it is contrary to every possible logical thought on earth, but it is not earthly logic. Having been a Marine I really relate to Zee I want to destroy evil, but that's not my job, I relate to Simon with "When are you going to fix all this, I relate to Matthew in not understanding it all, Big James and John with when are you going to call fire down on these people, then the light comes on and i realize all people are my family, I should love them as Christ loves me, forgive them, be merciful to them, be compassionate, pray for them, teach when I can, love correction from the father, be the picture of Christ that He wants me to be and hope that on the day I leave this world He smiles, and maybe stands as he did when Stephen was stoned. Remembering to be as Stephen who asked God on behalf of the people stoning him to forgive them. Sorry about the extended post Leo, I like to write and this subject I love. I would love opinions on my insights as I am not a theologian and could be wrong in my thoughts. All comments are welcome I learn by seeing understandings of others. We learn from each other just as they did in the first church.

I think many people have too harsh of a judgment on Judas. He had a very important role to play. A very difficult one, but necessary for the outcome. For Jesus to do what he had to do, Judas had to do what he did. Just like the Jews voting for Barrabas to be spared instead of Jesus. It all had to happen in order for our salvation to be available to us.

Oh my gosh. First have to say how you sound and are so relaxed and at peace with life. It is obvious you have accepted Jesus into your heart. Thank you for being a testimony. I do not take anger to be the same as murder or we would all be without hope. Jesus is showing the impossible standards of the Law. Only HE could fulfill the Law. I love what you said about living in the past and fearing the future. I have friends (fellow believers) who are political activists and a few who are always looking for Jesus to come "soon" whatever that is. This makes them not enjoy the moment. They are wanting Jesus to rescue them as the world gets darker. I personally have decided, the way I am wired, to not constantly watch the news. I do not call myself a Christian either. It has many connotations. I am a disciple or believer in Jesus. This is lengthy but I am so excited about your videos. Praise God ☝🏼😊💯📖

We are without hope, that is what the scriptures are telling us. Jesus was showing that the standard God sets is impossible to meet. That's why we need him! Jesus is our only hope. Murder begins with anger, it is the same thing, the thin end of the same wedge.

I don't know that it's biblical. But it's interesting that the show chose to portray that Judas is the only one of the 12 to ask to be a follower before Jesus commanded him to follow.

Turn other cheek changes justice into forgiveness. The work of the world is justice the work of the kingdom strives toward forgiveness. Our actions invite others into a different way of living as sons doing the will of the father

Hi! Love your reactions to The Chosen! You asked why Jesus said to love your enemies, why to give your cloak if they take your tunic. You are right in saying so we can be like Christ. I have come to the understanding in my studies that no one who is unholy can look upon the face od God, Hebrews 12:14. We cannot come into his presence if we are unholy because God cannot be in the presence of sin. Sin separates us from God, but as we obey Him and his Spirit living in us purifies us, He makes us Holy so that we can be in his presence and will one day see God face to face! Thank you for sharing!!!

I feel that by turning the other cheek we are exemplifying what we truly are. For example, the Word of God says that we are righteous of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore as Christ is righteous so are we, and this would also include honouring the name of Christ and God together. We also have to remember that Jesus was also looking in the forward direction to the cross. At Christ's trial, He went to the slaughter as a SILENT lamb with no retaliation toward His persecutors, enemies, and so forth. We have to be constantly aware that before we were born again, we were also enemies of God.

Judas leave everything behind to follow Christ and I still believe his role both the good thing and bad things were designed and orchestrated by God. Judas role is also crucial for the fulfilment of the prophecy towards the Son of Man

The passage is about how God loves us. We are enemies of God before we're saved, but he loves us when we were enemies with him. We ask God for prosperity and blessing, but God gives us salvation too, which is infinitely more important and the larger gift. We attack God and he doesn't seek retribution immediately. He turns his cheek to us and shows us patience. We ask God to get us out of trials, and he gets us out and also gives us blessings. He goes the extra mile. Jesus is teaching us to treat people the way God loves humanity. With patience, generosity, love, and an eternal perspective. We're sons of God when we treat humanity the way God treats them. We're children of God when we act like our dad. ❤️

I believe the show is trying to help us picture how Jesus viewed Judas, despite knowing that he would betray him He loved Him. Judas is human and born into sin. Remember, we betray Jesus every single day because we fall short of the glory of God every single day. The only reason we are redeemed is because God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins, we are all a million Judas' every single day but because of grace, we are saved through faith in Christ. Because of Judas sin, they took Christ to the cross so that we might be saved. It was all in Gods plan

I have always wondered if Judas betrayed him thinking he couldn't die or be killed because he is the son of God, so he figured he could get money, and pull a fast one over on the leaders. Just a thought. Maybe he didn't think Jesus would be killed.

He is basically saying, if you want these material things so much, have them, plus some. If you want violence, have double the violence. Material items and violence, etc, are all meaningless and will gain you no standing with God.

Judas as a good guy in the Chosen: Agree. He could not have been chosen as one of the 12 if he had nothing good in him from the beginning. Judas' character in episode 1 is showing his sincerity to serve God and confirming his name "God be praised with the hands" (in relation to Jesus and Judas follow-me-scene). He was ecstatic about being used by God to help the disciples secure the site (in conversation with Devorah). He took notes at the Sermon which meant his heart when he found Messiah was pure (only those with hearts like that of little children are able to understand Jesus' teachings) Jesus loved him equally as other disciples. I'm uncertain what situation The Chosen will use but I know Judas will be put in a desperate position eventually leading to the betrayal of Jesus. As humans we still have the flesh (in relation to Jesus' teaching on lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life). For Judas it involved money because that was his source of security before being Jesus' follower. But as it is written, he eventually was led to take coins from the ministry money to possibly satisfy the needs of his flesh, not knowing that this became an open door for the enemy to use him. And on the night Jesus was to be betrayed, it is written: "Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve." Luke 22:3 In one of the gospels, I remember that after Jesus was arrested, Judas was trying to undo what he did by giving back the silver coins he was paid but the elders did not want the money back. In a way I somehow get the impression that Judas was deceived by the lies of the enemy. But, prophecy had to be fulfilled and he was to be the friend who shared bread at Jesus' table only to betray Him. It's easy to judge Judas as someone evil enough to betray until we learn that we have become Judas at one time in our lives towards God. And then we realize, Judas was not as bad of a guy as we thought he was.

Interesting that the show had Judas tell his sister: “If he is the Anointed One, sister, then he will not be killed.” A foreshadowing of their belief that Judas betrayed him to force his hand, and make him defeat the Romans?

I disagree strongly with your ignorant and worldly statement that Judas Iscariot was a good guy and that Jesus could not have chosen Judas Iscariot as one of the twelve if there was nothing good in him. That is a worldly opinion on your part that shows how ignorant you are of spiritual things. I suggest that you read Romans chapter seven, where the apostle Paul wrote, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not."(Romans 7:18) There was nothing good in Paul and there was nothing good in Judas Iscariot and there is nothing good in me and there is nothing good in you. Jesus didn't choose Judas Iscariot or Paul or you are me because of anything that was in Judas Iscariot or Paul or that is in you or me. Jesus choose Judas Iscariot and Paul because of what He could put in them and help them to become if they followed Him in Truth. Jesus chose you and me because of what He can put in us and what we can become if we will follow Him. Judas Iscariot ultimately chose not to follow Him in Truth. Judas Iscariot repented himself, but did not repent unto God in the faith of Jesus Christ. Paul did follow Jesus Christ in Truth and Paul did repent unto God with the faith of Jesus Christ. Paul gave up his ideas of what Messiah ought to be and accepted correction from God when it came to him. Judas Iscariot apparently never changed his mind about what Messiah should be and apparently never accepted God's correction. Will you let God correct you and help you give up your ideas of what Messiah should be and will you let Him correct you and bring you more into His Truth? Salvation is education.

@@mephi654Judas Iscariot had a wrong idea of what Messiah should be. Messiah came not to give the Jews freedom from Rome, but to be the sin substitute for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
