I recommend EVERY CITIZEN film police encounters, with immediate upload to cloud, so that video documenting becomes *normalized* for *everyone*. Currently Id be too scared to film police because I suspect theyd take it as an act of defiance or provacation or atleast give them grounds for accusing me of 'behaving suspiciously'. Just know things wouldnt end well for me esp. given I wouldnt have the confidence to continue recording after theyve demanded I stop. Its in the best interests of EVERYONE to make filming authorities common practice, including the poor police officers that are intimidated or falsely implicated by wealthy/influencial citizens of privilege who feel entitled to escape any and all legal consequence

Where to start?🧐 Universal healthcare, free at the point of delivery, funded by taxation and available to everyone. No co-pays, no ‘pre-existing conditions’ (we call it ‘medical history’). Prescriptions charged at a flat £9.35 (about $13) for any drug (and free for under-16s and over-60s). No such thing as medical bankruptcy - it is literally unknown here. Very few guns (but contrary to what you yanks are told, we CAN have guns), no open carry, no concealed carry. If you own a gun, it stays under lock and key. Better education system. Better and healthier foods. Work less (full time is 30+ hours a week), get paid more. Standardised voting practice across the country, with thousands of polling stations and no queues to vote. The BBC. No Fox News. No Glenn Beck, no Sean Hannity, no Laura Ingrahams, no Rush Limbaugh, etc etc etc. No broadcast religionists pleading for money. Very little interest at all in religion. Decent public transport - maybe not as good as it was 100 years ago, but still pretty good. CCTV that are monitored 24/7 (this is why they had all the footage of this woman). It protects the innocent and make it very difficult for the guilty to have a case. That’ll do to start with. Does all that make Britain better than America? That depends of what you desire in life. But “all of a sudden the UK seems really civilized”, which was what you commented? Oh yes. Much, much more civilised

There needs to be a law protecting citizens from the abuse of power of a rogue police officer. Such as, making it legal for a citizen to resist arrest if the officer cannot adequately justify cause for an arrest. Or, that they are mandated to get confirmation from a supervisor or another police official through a direct line that the citizen can call themselves on speaker, to get the exact ordinance or law that has been alleged to have been broken.

If this had been in the United States, the police union would defend him till the end and at first say that nothing happened, and then when proven guilty (probably 5 years later) the union would issue a statement that this was an "Isolated Incident". The judge would have probably given the cop probation, so that the cop could resign and move on down the road to the next police department. The police union would also dig up every single detail about the slain woman's life and would try to justify what happened to her, try to make it seem like it was her fault or that she had it coming. That is the thing about the United States Police, they are automatically given the benefit of the doubt, this would have been "just a bad day for the officer". But in other developed countries, they would say, "He was an officer of the law, he should have known better, therefore we will take that into mind when sentencing the cop".

@@coreywilliams1454 You’re mistaken, the sentence for murder is fixed by law to life imprisonment in the UK. It is split into two tariffs: the minimum term order and the whole life order. Most cases fit the criteria for a minimum term order, where an offender must serve the minimum term before they can be considered eligible for release on license - this does not mean they will be released, many are not. The whole life order is rare because the criteria to reach it is very high. Wayne Couzens received a whole life order, he has no minimum term and will never be considered for release.

The basic problem with Executing these Murdering Bastards is that it is all over far too Quickly and in the end just gives them peace which they should not have.

@dWFnZWVr
@dWFnZWVr 2 месяца назад
Appreciate this is two years old but I couldn’t help notice the claims by the OP. 1. “Retired lifetime lawyer” - they’re called solicitors in the UK judicial system. 2. “Him serving 5 years would be nearer to what should be expected” - false, murder is fixed by law to life imprisonment in the UK, that is not arbitrary. This case pertains to a whole life order where no mimimim term is imposed. Even then, an offender must serve the entirety of their minimum term before being considered for review by the parole board. 3. “We need the right to defend ourselves” - under English law, every citizen has the right to defend themselves when threatened, but the force you use must be proportionate to counter the threat. You may use your environment to aid in your defence, but you cannot use offensive weapons carried on your person. 4. Firearms are legal in the UK, they are just subject to strict licensing conditions. Holders of a section 1 firearms license can possess the vast majority of what US citizens can. The only limitation pertains to handguns, where the barrel length must be greater than 6 inches. Often a fixed arm stock attached to the grip qualifies as meeting this length. The idea being you cannot conceal it. Removing this stock would be a criminal offence and a breach of the license.
