Former R&AW chief Vikram Sood shares memories of India's legendary Spy R N Kao

Vikram Sood, is a former chief of India's external intelligence agency the Research and Analysis Wing and an advisor to the Observer Research Foundation, an independent public policy think tank in New Delhi. Sood’s entry to R&AW was very accidental but he went on to become spymaster in 2000 in his over three-decade-long service. Sood also has the distinction of being the lone chief of R&AW who came from a non- police background. In an in-depth conversation with Smita Prakash, Sood talks about Kargil, Pakistan’s misadventures on the border as well as on mainland through attacks. Sood also reveals Musharraf’s role in Kargil and how they exposed his lies, importance of intelligence system for strategic and security interests of the country. Further, Sood also narrates the story behind Pakistan’s nuclear story and the assassination of former Prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, his relations with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his take on spy movies. In this video Sood talks about one of the legendary Indian spymaster and founder director of R&AW R N Kao who remained a role model for one and all. Sood also narrates about his meetings with Kao and his love for the nation which made R&AW one of the best intelligence agencies.

No he was thinking as kao was very close to indira gandhi hence he must have been involved in emergency but he was not as he himself asked for his own investigation to clear it still he waa not taken by morarji as he thought his loyalty would be towards gandhi not him That's how dumb politicians for their politics can sacrifice country's important people

Now doubt is for example for taking out a plane crashed militancy group in a country but attack is on other country and the country complained because it needs them to move to ukraine like Canada, so RAW person might be very close to the individuals and so the planting for person is done even before the blast might have happened like a family or so, and post completion of the duty they need to move back to the place of themselves if not it the voice needed so they dismantle themselves in such case whole RAW is involved along with many agencies, so how can a stupid thought of person moved in to a safe location and settled like movie scenario is right?
