Former Software Tester Reacts to Lets Game It Out Test the Limits of Raft

Let's game it out is just basically the god of destruction of games. If there's a bug your gonna take a bet he's gonna take advantage of that.

That's probably why indie developers sends Josh free keys to their early access games free boundary/stress testing

Grace is the character LGiO tortures in as many games as possible, usually she’s human but in Raft she’s the shark.

"Hey there, it's Josh, welcome back to Let's Game It Out" is the intro to absolute chaos. "Let me give you the grand tour." "Is there a limit?" "Hold, please!" "I guess there's only one way to find out!"

Every Raft has its own relentless shark, so they don't necessarily have to be the same shark. Your yacht gets annoyed by Karl. LGIO's fleet torments Grace. Some people get bitten by Bruce. I get nipped by Chonks. It can all be canon.

Grace is a running thing with him, he’s got a playlist on his channel called “Games where I torment grace” or something like that

"Is there a limit" is probably the most scary thing a game can hear from Josh

LGIO is where games go to die. He's a mad lad that destroys everything, in the best way possible. No amount of time is too much and most of his videos end with him showcasing something that took hours. Huge fan (in case that wasn't obvious). Really enjoyed your reactions to both videos you've done of his Raft videos. Definitely do more, you've only scratched the surface of his power haha.

LGIO's favorite phrase is "is there a limit" and a surprising amount of times the answer is either "no" or "not low enough to stop things from breaking". The Satisfactory episode with trains contains a wonderful example of this.

I like the name "Karl" for the shark, because it reminds me of the old web series "Llamas with Hats", and the line "Caaaarl, that _kills_ people!"

Game developers have given Josh special access to their games and they have made adjustments to their games from his videos. Hydroneer is a perfect example of this where he exploited one bug but it wasn't there the next time

Josh is truly the tormentor of all games,the breaker of all fabrics of all realities.

As a game developer, I can say that trying to prevent people like Josh from doing stuff like this is a bad idea, and the Raft devs clearly know this. You're far better off writing a game that will just deal with whatever the player throws at it because you never ever know how a player will approach it and what you want is for every player's style to be valid. This is doubly true in open ended games like this that thrive off of player expression. So I wouldn't say that the game wasn't properly tested, or that it should somehow prevent him from stringing up tons of ziplines; I would say that it was properly implemented, even if it was never tested for this particular scenario, insofar as it allows him to do this without buckling under the strain or crashing outright. And for that reason it succeeds. Note that standard testing methods are still important for games, but the focus isn't so much in ensuring that the user is properly constrained to the limits of the program, but that the program responds well to having its limits pushed by the user.

Josh is a chaos demon. He has also been given early access keys by game devs because they know that he will absolutely wreck their game, and it makes it easy for them to fix stuff.

I kind of wish I could forget LGIO just so I could rediscover him. Watching you experience it has been a gift. Thank you!

Josh's Satisfactory and Hydroneer series are well worth watching at the very least. Would be fun to see you react to them as well. Watching people react to his sheer madness and genius is highly entertaining.

Let's Game It Out aka Josh will do anything to entertain his viewers, he break games without cheats, only exploits and game breaking "features" and he will do it no matter how long and agonizing it takes, all his creations are quite amazing and destructive at the same time and im looking forward to you seeing all his amazing highlights (no spoilers of course). P.S. he tortures all characters he deems as "Grace-worthy" and his creations are over the top, his zoo video thing was one of them.

I remember watching Josh for the first time, and instantly binged his whole channel. Something amazing in all this insanity

13:08 yeah, this is standard method to bake bricks, this is when they turn red but the thing is you need to dry them before because evaporating water would destroy brick.

Bruce was the name painted on the radio tower (first story island), but I dont know if that is still there. You can see a shark cage, and a person wrote: Bruce escaped or something. So officially bruce, but I guess Grace is good too

Whenever Josh gets his hands on a game, expect to see absolute madness in a wide variety of ways

re: "Boundary Test", Josh's favorite game to play inside a game is "Is there a limit?" so yeah it was definitely 100% his intent. He's crashed more than a few games doing this. lol

What if you just filled up the whole map with a fleet of rafts then you don't have to float anywhere you just walk.

honestly, video context aside, you are amazing at presenting yourself before a camera, you are entertaining as hell you're chill and informative, you've definitely got my attention for more of your stuff. I think you're definitely going to go places in the future with this kind of atmosphere you set for your audience. its laid back and relatable or at the very least, super entertaining and relaxing simultaneously. I sincerely hope you get more attention in the future and get to do this stuff more often. love your stuff Krakenfall!

Josh's constant unending battle against the devs of Hydroneer is one of my simple joys in life.

Josh from let's game it out is pretty much a chaos god for video games, finding anyway to torture npcs and exploiting any glitch or bug he finds no matter how big or small

Game developers thought speedrunners are their arch nemisis but LGIO is on another level

The import concepts of software testing: 1) What happens when the users do everything right? 2) What happens WHEN the users do everything wrong? Question 2 will sometimes be skipped... and leads to hilarity, or massive frustration.

Josh be like:They called me a mad man.

Every time I watch a LGIO video from now on, I'm going to hear, "This is what's called a 'boundary test'." in my head. So much of what he does fits that description.

13:00 The answer is sort of. You can use a heat source to speed up the "drying phase" to a degree, but bricks are made by first drying and later firing them in a kiln. If the drying phase is rushed and moisture is still inside when you fire it, the brick will litterally explode in the kiln.

If your going into the "Let's game it out" rabbit hole, he made multiple episodes for Satisfactory. So good. You will love that series.

The joy of your "I could make.. a fleet of garbage yachts!" was palpable 😂😂 I would love to see your Ewok tower! "Is there a limit?" is a frequent game I love watching LGIO play, and I really liked hearing about the "real" testing aspect! Looking forward to watching more of your stuff!

Re; baking bricks. You'd need a kiln that can get hot enough, which you definitely CAN'T on a raft like this.

As others have said, the Satisfactory series from LGIO is 100% the watch. Even after 10+ rewatches per episode later, I still just laugh like mad.

LGIO has this lil game he plays within games, the famous words of "is there a limit?" this is most noticible with his hydroneer vids, but is quite relavent in most of his uploads too. and yes, it is a boundary test. his only intention is to see how far he can go until either his frames go below the boiler rooms of hell, or until he finds the limit _he also does this in a few of his cooking sim vids where it becomes well past the point of chaos_

Apparently Bruce will most likely the outside layer of the raft, so if u place a few triangles sticking out he'll (almost?) always go for them. Cheaper to build and u get all materials back if u axe them before he eats them

This video was really neat to watch. It is cool hearing your experience overlapping with Josh's (Let's Game It Out) content.

Josh was actually a beta tester so it used to be his job, that's why he breaks stuff, he basically just tests games for bugs and takes the bugs to ridiculous levels. it's awesome

A little tip for rl, when it comes to bricks baking them CAN work however it also becomes fragile and cracks fire treating (burying them under a bon fire) is an extremely efficient way to do it and makes them stronger than otherwise sun baking

Raft is one of those games that I *really* like specifically because it has a sort of... semi-realistic physics engine, and practically no boundaries. It's a delight to watch it break, and enjoyable to break it as well, because you can just keep chucking more and more items in. It might not handle well, but it will let you do it, and that's so much fun for this kind of sandbox game.

Howdy I'm new from the previous video. I'm giggly cause I'm more familiar/used to Mr. Game it out's deal, but you showing off your color coded and organized items in your ship made me "what :O" more than Josh breaking the game. You are very powerful!

As far as I know, the Satisfactory devs have a good relationship with Josh (he was even in one of their update videos), and do actually value him as a "stress-tester" for the game. Wouldn't be too surprised if the same is true for other games.

Letsgameitout, Graystillplays, and Dangerouslyfunny are all very fun gaming channels that tend to either break stuff or spend hours doing something painfully hard.

Hey Kraken! New to the channel but i love your style and i really want to get into raft. So im excited to look into your raft series, but lets game it out is a huge rabbit hole. He knows gaming code and physics too well and can figure out how to break any game published

i'd say it's more of his curiosity rather than his love of breaking games that makes him do this stuff

That software testing thing is basically his entire channel. He is basically the most chaotic game tester in existence. One of his favorite games is "Is there a Limit?". There is a game called Hydroneer where he basically got into an arms race with the developer. LGiO figured out how to break the shops stealing and the developer fixed it, only for him to find a new method. There in fact was even an easter egg added to to game that was a wanted poster for him by the shops. I don't own the game so I don't know if it is still in the full release.

Bruce is a joke from jaws, cause that's what they called the mechanical shark, it broke down, didnt work, and was all round temperamental and it was named after Spielberg's lawyer. I named the shark bruce also because of it 😂

Legend has it that Anthony was the last limiter the dark priests needed to remove to release Josh's full potential for more chaotic destruction. Thus when he left, they completed the ritual.

Personally, I expand my early raft build with half foundations, so when bruce, karl, and/or grace, decides to chew it. I can either just ignore and replace (cost 1/1 plank plastic) or break it with stone axe and get 1/1 plank plastic back and just build again.

I remember my first Let's Game It Out video, it was a planet coaster video and it instantly had me hooked

LGIO actually has an in-game Wanted sign in Hydroneer for all the game breaking he's done.

I have a dream to build a game and have Josh (LGIO) break it or clip through the world and have an easter egg just for him like "what are you doing here Josh? get down."
