Were you born in the 90's? Did you parent in the 90's? Would love to hear from both! What did you love? What did you hate?

This was so fun!! I do want to add to the sketchy toys.. , swing sets in the backyard. Ya, know, the ones that came out of the ground while you were swinging!!

Attitudes toward food seems to change every twenty years so you can never be right. I had to leave my babies in a car once. I was driving between Tacoma WA to Vancouver, WA., it was late. I had dropped hubby off to join a ship for three months. The kids, probably age 8,6, and 5 had cried themselves to sleep. About an hour into the drive I had severe abdominal cramps and knew diarrhea would be next. I parked right in front of the gas store/ convenience store locked up and raced in and out. The car was in a lighted area, locked down. It was the best I could do.

I had my kids at age 38 and 40 and I had the same type of responses...”oh, you’re an older Mom” or, “oh kids, are you out with Grandma today”. But it was sooo worth it! God really blessed me late in life💕🙋‍♀️. I got the opposite reactions, but in the same way, you both did.

OMG - Me too :) I'm so happy I was a young mom in the late 80's ... In my opinion it was so much more fun than today. I had no idea about high fructose corn syrup, or questionable playground equipment. All the moms would sit outside and the kids would play til dark. Fun-themed home birthday parties.

I was a teen mom in 1969. Still married and will celebrate our 53rd anniversary the day after Thanksgiving. We were so young and clueless. When my son was a month old we let a teenager watch him while we went to a rodeo. She was very responsible, but still.....Thanks for sharing your hilarious do's and don'ts.

Not a teen mom, I was 21 when my first was born (1973). But, yes, I did most of those same things! One I remember so well was the time she was “going to run away from home” but wasn’t allowed to cross the the street by herself! She was 3 or 4 at the time, do she and her playmate, about a year older than her, just walked around the block about 10 times, carrying their Going to Grandma’s suitcases! 😂 I didn’t even know she gone until she returned home!

I was also a teen Mom- 1981 at 19 (still married- 42 yrs) Your video made me laugh out loud - what a sweet friendship 🥰 It was more things my parents did that would be frightening now Sending groups of kids out to trick or treat or walk to school on our own (5 yrs old) Putting us in the back of the pickup truck /not belted in, ( anyone remember the “mom- arm restraint “ as the car came to a stop or sending kids out to play unsupervised from sunup to sundown

I was born in 92 it really was a great time to be a kid. I had my first right before i turned 17 and my second at 24. I would get so many dirty looks after I had my first and people really do assume if you're a teen mom you can't be a good parent.....which is so not true! My kids have always been loved and have an amazing life as well.(although sometimes I do wish they could experience the type of childhood I had with alot of the fun things you both described.) Its definitely very different now. Your videos are great and you are so genuine and caring! I'm an empath too and we definitely need more people like you in this world. 👍🏻🙂

Not a teen mom here BUT I LOVED watching this. I had to laugh hard when you mentioned the Tomagotchi's. I remember those came out shortly before I had our son. We had to stop at our local Walmart & get some diapers, My hubby stayed out in the car with our son, while I ran in & got a big box of Pampers. I'm standing in line to check out & these 2 very young teens in front of me were buying themselves 1 each. One looks back at me & says...these are so cool, you so need to get one of these for yourself. I looked at her & at the box of Pampers in my arms & said..umm, no thanks I have the real thing out in the car with his daddy waiting on me to get these for our son. The girls had this look on their face like...O'! I got out to the car & told my hubby & he just laughed. Also, I too never went with what the parents of today who thinks there so much better then those of us who has have our kids longer then they've been around. The way I see it is, there we will raise our kids our way, & you raise yours your way. Kids are more resilient then parents today think. I just found your channel today & love it.

Also not a teen mom. I was 24 when I had my first Child and I and my hubby went to natural child birth classes and he was with me the entire times and I breast fed, both. I had no one to help me from family or friends. I subscribed to Parent Magazines and bought child development books from crandle to college. And something I tried to do all the time was held my babies when they started to cry. I found 4 things: when they cried they were wet (cloth diapers & rub pants) Pampers were just hitting the market and very expensive), or hungry, or tired ( so I rocked them and sang lallabies to them), or they were scared or lonely. I was a 1980's mom and I stayed home with my children. Tech was not an issue until they were teenagers. Sesame Street was on in the mornings. And I started reading to them every evening after bath time when they could sit up in my lap. Precious times for me. I have never been much of a TV watcher, but my children tell me they loved growing up. Fresh air and walks almost everyday. I might add they were all born and raised in Central Florida. So weather usually was not a major factor. Best years of my life. Now, they are all in their 40's total of 7 granddaughters later and no babies left. They range from 14-25 yrs.old. Just love being Mom, Nana, and who knows what the future holds? Ladies this was so fun to watch! P.S. we had the swing set too, but my husband and brother in law put hurricane ties on the poles and anchored them in 2 foot deep holes with concrete. Only those Dads would think of that safety feature! 😊❤

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS!!😅 I've shared it with multiple moms (who had babies in the '90s, like me)! I was born in 1972. Can you imagine the video 1970's moms could make, about how they "parented"? 🤦‍♀️ When I was 9 months old, my dear grandparents drove their huge Lincoln Continental, from northern Indiana to Tallahassee, Florida, with me in the backseat. They put bed pillows on the floor and up against the doors. In my teens, I found a black and white picture of me, sitting in the huge backseat, laughing. I inquired about seat belts or a car seat.🤔 They just snickered. LOL Apparently, I just ROLLED AROUND the back seat, giggling and belly laughing for the 900 mi trip. 😂 "You were the BEST baby to travel with. You just had the best time!", G'ma shared. 😅 Thank you for this hilarious, touching video. Brought back so many memories.🤗

Oh gosh, what a blast from the past. lol. Kids today will never get to experience how cool you were walking around with them fake candy cigarette sticks. I can still remember when all the Karen’s started making a big deal about them and were adamant that they were teaching kids to smoke cigarettes and they spent a few years protesting to get them taken off the market. Today’s kids will never know what it was like to sit in front of your boom box and record all your favorite songs from the local radio stations onto cassette tapes so you didn’t have to listen to all the commercials. lol. Today’s kids will never know what it’s like to sit in front of your boom box listening to the local radio station to call in and win free concert tickets. Today’s kids will never know how incredibly annoying the teletubby’s were and nobody could possibly understand how or why they ever became almost as popular as the tickle me Elmo for years. Today’s kids will never know what it’s like having to blow into your Nintendo cartridges and the machine itself. Today’s kids will never get to know how fun it was to play tennis or asteroid shooting on the Atari and before we knew it hours had passed. Kids today will never know how frustrating it was every time it rained or if the wind blew a little hard it would turn your outside antenna and then you would have to have someone standing in front of the tv and yell to you until the channel was not just a fuzzy screen or how much aluminum foil we went through wrapping our bunny ears antenna inside to help the signal strength. Kids these days will never know what it was like going to the local movie rental store like block buster and having to hook up two vcr’s for one to play the rented movie and the other to record the rental movie and dare you not rewind the rental before returning it or were late returning it the amount of fees they would charge you. Kids these days will never know what it was like spending hours on the phone with a friend but you couldn’t move very far because the phone was attached to the wall and the cord only reached so far so most of us had a severely stretched out cord or it was a twisted mess because you would twist the cord without realizing it while on the phone. Kids these days will never know what it was like when your parents would tell you not to answer the phone until after 5pm because of debt collectors and we didn’t have caller id or anything of the sort yet. Kids these days will never know what it’s like having to go buy the prepaid long distance cards or the astronomical cost of calling family in other states collect. Kids these days will never know how much fun it was to tie your radio flyer metal wagon to the back of the lawnmower and then try to dump each other out of the wagon because back then lawnmowers had two speeds which was turtle speed or kangaroo speed. lol. Thanks for the blast from the past. Hope all is well.

This was great ! I was a “teen mom” in the 70’s! LOL!!! I was 19 and gave to our first daughter on 9/11/77. BEFORE 9/11 was horrific.....☹️ But I was laughing my head off at some of the questions. I’m 64 and still go outside in my bare feet! LOL!!! My husband asked me the other day “did we have car seats for the girls? “. NO... I would drive with them wrapped in a blanket on the front seat! Yikes! Then as they got older...they stood next to me on the seat!!! I can’t imagine my 2 and 3 year old grandkids riding like that today! Our oldest daughter has a 17 year old daughter and an 11 year old daughter. She was in her mid to late 20’s when she had her girls. Our youngest daughter had her first baby at 38 and 2nd at 39.... SHE IS A CRAZY MOMMIE WITH THOSE LITTLE ONES and working full-time as a visiting nurse. I think teen Moms do better than the 30 and 40 year olds..... they can keep up better LOL!!!!! I vote for having those babies when young ! I remember in my time...it was UNUSUAL IF YOU DID NOT HAVE KIDS YOUNG LOL!! GREAT VIDEO!!!! Truly loved it! HOW ARE YOU FEELING? You are looking good .... pray all is going okay with your husband also. 🙏🙏🙏❤️

I enjoyed watching you and you friend reminisce ☺️. It brought back some fun memories. I think that some of your observations about parenting were spot on. My husband and I have three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren and have been married for 48 years come August. What I have come to understand is that if the parents stay committed to one another, make God the rock they build their lives on and set boundaries (and enforce them) for their children and make sure their children know that they are loved unconditionally then things always have a way of working out. Not easy for sure. Many trials for sure. But it has been my experience that God always makes a way for us and provides the support, strength and courage we need. He is the key❤️

Out of me, they met some friends and went off “exploring “. Found a boars den and had a ball! Finally came back riding bicycles with the new friends. I was a basket case!! Well, I was a 90's mom, but I started at 30 years old! I was old! I AM about 13 years older than you guys! Maternity clothes bought in the maternity section. I don't think they have those anymore! Mom's just wear anything these days! I had maternity pants that had that big ol panel in the front! A few other observations...we had a minivan that had a big space between the 2 front seats and we put the base to the infant seat in that space for Mason when we drove from Kansas to N. Carolina and Florida, then Joel built a "console" that had a drawer for movie videos and we strapped a little TV/VCR player to it for the older kids! We still have it! Also, Reed had a Skip It and it was one of his favorite toys! I think I still have it! :)

Married at 16, first child at 17, Second child at 19. I am still married to the same man 48 years later. Best advice do not marry at 16. My husband was 24. We married 52 days after meeting. 4 wonderful grandkids.
