The house i just moved into and rent at was broken into last week, two cars pulled and the guys ran in and used a pickaxe head to break the door locks and they got away with tv sets and microwaves, so hearing this might seem interesting and fun to watch but once you the victim, your perspective changes and you wish death on anyone who does you ill.

@@sifisomagagula5476 law also states that the use of a firearm for self defensive should be the very last resort IF there is a danger to your life. That guy then should of by law stayed out the house n called the cops. In SA there is no stand your ground law you cannot advance to danger and proceed to use deadly force then claim self defensive.

I own firearms, I’m a member of the provincial and local CPF and I sit with my local station management weekly crime stats meetings. Read Section 42 of the Criminal Procedure Act. Any citizen can effect an arrest without a warrant under the conditions explained in the CPA. What you saying is that if I see someone raping someone else I should not intervene but rather call the police. That’s absurd, the law can never be designed to disempower citizens. Now, back to my original point, if someone poses a threat to anyone else’s life (in this case, the community patroller’s life), that person, or any other person, may use the necessary force to stop that threat. This criminal has not told us the details what was he carrying when confronted. If he had a weapon, then using a firearm could be legally justified. Of course there are a lot of unknowns for either you or I to be certain whether the patroller had a legal right to use his/her firearm at the time. But you are wrong to use a blanket statement that patrollers can’t use firearms or can’t effect an arrest without the presence of the police. You are completely wrong there. Edit: BTW, me saying I think you watch too much is based on your bringing in the US stand your ground nonsense. It only exists in those states of the US, so it’s not a measure of any global legal standing whatever and I presume you only learned if from TV (or RU-vid or any digital platform), unless you live there.
One thing to note is even thou I don't Condon crime we can all see that most of these guys are victims of the apartheid system, without a proper education system or jo opportunities and poor living conditions for blacks naturally the life of crime was glamorous people could only aspire to be criminals coz that's the best option they had considering that not everyone could work and those that could were underpaid... it's sad to really see the current youth adopting the same culture even thou times have changed
The neighbourhood watch are wrong for trying to play God, two wrongs don’t make a right and going as far as to try and kill him twice is ethically and moral illicit. I understand what they did was wrong let the law deal with them but who do they think they are to dictate whether or not a man should live or die.
The day you are robbed and your sister/girlfriend/wife is raped while you are bound with a wire hanger while your house is ransacked, you will stop sympathising with criminals.
My case was dismissed on Thursday I'm 15 and i was gonna get charged with theft if found guilty my stay at the holding cells wasn't good at all i wonder how jail would've been i low-key wanted to experience it first hand
