I died laughing when you said "A whole bunch of weirdos on this train but I've got a knife, and a gun on me." I'm just starting this series but I look forward to watching it! Great content, I subbed.
Ive been an expedition kayaker for over 20 years. Ive done some big trips. This is the best series on expedition kayaking I have ever seen. It captures the spirit and feel of a long trip better than I have ever seen. Good job!
"The nice part about training is when you can share it, too. Or maybe I'm starting to reach the end of my expeditions, where I'm just by myself. The meaningless sort of resonates way too much when your by yourself and you just wanna share it... you know" Damn Beau, these words really hit me hard. As cliche as it is, balance is key. Many great lessons in traversing alone but I think fundamentally we as humans aren't designed to do it all alone
Dan, “I’ve never seen a star fish before, being in Australia I don’t want to touch it, as it’ll probably kill me” 👍🏻😂 thing is mate, you’re a Brit, the UK has no end of star fishes too 😂
Love discovering some of your older content Beau! Such an inspiriation hoping I can start capturing stories like yourself! Look forwards to the rest of the series!
I think it's likely because the YT algorithm hugely favors people who upload frequent, lower quality videos. Someone who uploads 300+ videos a year will make YT infinitely more ad revenue. It's unfortunate.
you are such an inspiration to me. I have lived my life hampered by restrictions, some of the mental health related but i watch these videos and see all you achieve and it gives me the thirst to make something of my time. So thank you so much for sharing them. I hope one day that i attain the goals i have in life.
Ur videos are quite impressive , all u do! Many of us can’t , for sure I will be killed within 10 miles of an expedition like urs . But I can try other things , thank u for all u do and the encouragement u give us .
Cheers, Dirk. I'm not so sure- I reckon you'd be just fine heading off doing something, anything, that has an essence of adventure and planning. Goodonya. Best
I’m watching this series for the second time I love it! I was really stoked when I was browsing Amazon Prime and noticed it was on there for viewing too 👌
Just stumbled upon this on Facebook. This guy embraces it! Such a zest for life. I'd love to have a paddle with him. I'll be watching attentively from now on, best of luck lads :-)
Some part of me wants Beau's channel to blow off, some part not, just like when you find an awesome restaurant but don't want to share it with anyone in fear of waiting lines. But well, there are no such things on RU-vid! I almost finish watching all of your videos and trying to prolong it further because of I am afraid that there will be nothing more to watch until next month (?). But Beau's videos are worth a rewatch anytime. Thank you Beau's parents and environment for raising such a great man! Thank you Beau for sharing your wonderful moments with us!
Until now i was sceptical if i wanted a kayak but no car now that i see that you just go into trains with it i don't care anymore. Thank you for taking away that "fear".
Seriously mate, love your work! Inspirational. I'm a fair weather kayaker and get numb legs and behind - makes me feel better that a legend like yourself has the same issue! Keep up the great work.
Love what ya doing mate! Am going to kayak the murray river this coming year.. have no bloody idea how to kayak but i am sure i will learn.. great stuff with the videos!! 👍 👌 🇦🇺
I'm new to your channel, but I'm glued...bring it on! (I waited until I was in my 60s to get a kayak. I wasn't strong enough to get it on the roof of my car so I got an inflatable. I'm a fair-weather kayaker, and love it. I feel like a dolphin, or one of those flying fish, whatever, it's the freedom, the achievement of making it happen..
You mention 'I bet no one else has ever...' in a few of your videos, is this something you strive for, what I bet no one else has ever stuff do you have planned? As ever great content 👍🏻
I once drove around the north island of New Zealand with some friends and I too used a old jar to hold leftover pasta for lunch one day :P love your channel mate, amazing stuff
One time, I was on the light rail in Seattle, heading to the airport. Two people got on at a stop near downtown. Each of them had a large pack and a kayak. I’m not from Seattle, so I presumed that it was normal.
I found you through suggested videos. First your videos are fun to watch. You got some great shots and have some great editing ideas for me to learn. I just made a RU-vid channel so I’m definitely doing my research. Thanks for all your help. - Keep it up! Just subbed!
One minute thirty seconds in and crying with laughter....."there's weirdo's on this train".....reminds me of a train journey home once with my longbow , axe and knife like an extra from LOTR.....funny that nobody talked to me !
Except that was a movie in the 80s that's pretty modern. But until I see this guy get chased by a rock in a south American tomb I'll call him just another aussie
Hello man! I watched your video that you kayaked across Africa. Congratulations on the adventure. Could you pass me the specs of your disassembling yellow kayak? A big hug!
It’s impossible to get the image of the kayak on the train out of my head.... so it’s going in my script, and it’s going on stage in August. I dare the audience to question whether a kayak on public transport makes sense. 😂😂😂
8:47 Don't worry Dan, that's a Northern Pacific Sea Star, a horrible invasive species! Harmless to pick up and throw above the high tide mark or in a bin!
Hello Mr. Miles, I wonder if is this your Ph.D Dissertation? would you like to make a video about your journey about how you get your titles. Thank you for always bringing us a very great story with an amazing documentaries! sorry for my bad english
Beau, any particular reason you all paddle kayaks with a rudder?? Here in northern Europe we are mostly inspired by the British tradition an we paddle kayaks with a skeg. I have one of each. I must admit I prefer the ruddet!!!
Such a well shot and edited piece, i.e an all round excellent production. It beats me why well made films like this with real substance and meaning have (relatively) few views together with few subscribers in the great scheme of things. Compared with the tons of mediocre narcissistic bilge on YT that racks up squillions of views, it just doesn't seem right, ain't the world a weird place?
G'day Andy, Well edited indeed. That is Mitch Drummond, my new co-producer who is a whiz. That is the nature of our increasingly online world I suppose- sooo much content, good and bad. Thanks for watching mate, and send along to as many people as possible. Best
