Why do you incorporate your colonial states? It just wastes bureaucracy and you lose the benefit from colonial exploitation. It also takes like 20 years and you don't get the population as an accepted culture so you still won't get that much tax.

In the last update France and Austria both joins the war. Meaning that the change of forming Germany is extremely low to impossible to do early game.

I found that to really change the laws early in Japan you have to get enough bureaucracy down to get enough lvl 5 non-land owner leaders. This can help swing support a lot. Also, you have a chance of rolling leaders that will stonewall your progress on things like police force and colonialism. Which sucks.

Fun fact: "Deutschland über alles" doesn't mean, "Germany is better than everything else", but, "put Germany before your local little state, it's all Germany now". I.e. back in the olden days, Germany was a bunch of small states. After Blut un Eisen (Otto v. Bismarck) united all of the states to one state, it was important to teach people to think of themselves as a part of this new "Germany" rather than as a part of some small state.

You can also form Super XXL Germany by confederating with Austria. You just need to improve relations with them and end the rivalry right away and after the leadership play start bankrolling them. I consistently can form Germany with Austria included around 1852. In Patch 1.2 at least. Don't know yet how it works in 1.3.

what the fuck, that's why i couldn't form North german confederation, i googled everything and even checked into the game files but there's nothing that hints you need to solve the holstein question before nationalism, it only says it needs >75% german nations to research nationalism to be completed, it is DEFINITELY a bug, and it also makes no sense since nationalism is quite early game tech, and historically the NGF formed in 1866.

I don't know what version of Victoria 3 You play but when I try be only representation and when I start a war with Austria, Russia join, some Italian nations join agains me, and it is not possible to win, also I don't know why in You war France don't get any war goals, in my wars always France, Russia get wargoals.

I have formed XXL Germany without successfully finishing the Schleswig-Holstein mission and without a leadership play (wich might be a bug). After taking Schleswig-Holstein way too late and researching pan-nationalism I could just form Germany and only had to wait for Austria to support me

Forming Germany was way better in Victoria 2, it required you to have under your sphere of influence or directly own every german core province in order to form Germany. This actually included Alsaice-Lorraine so it literally forced you to do the Franco-Prussian war in order to form Germany, you also had to fight diplomatically with Austria to get every german state in your sphere, and it was hella fun. Here the existence of the North German Confederation isn't really a thing since you just form Germany at the same time you form the NGC and how fast you are able to just form Germany here is kind of boring, Paradox need to at least force the Franco-Prussian war here as a requirement for forming Germany in my opinion.

because if you improve relations with bankroll on austria as federation, you can form super germany instead of just weak ass north germany, like your prior video. takes a little longer, and its not bad thou probably can speed run it with rng 8 9 years. easy 12/14. it is wierd thou i agree. but im glad it lets us wait to form until we get approval we like

Well I don’t know what you did but I tried it really hard and even if everything went perfect the Austrians join on Denmark and you have a long truce with them (and have to win that early or if you fight denmark later get an even later truce) and in the run where I improves relations with the Russians they also kinda consistently joint against me in Denmark and Austria together with the Austrians 😅 I would really appreciate any Tipps 🙆‍♂️ Edit: okay seriously is there a mechanic? This try I improved relations with all major powers and all of them join in on Denmark against me (even with save scumming, not everyone every time but at least two of them) I feel like just going back to Form it in the late 50s 😅

I can't believe they added more functionalities and they didn't even make any real war mechanic. In addition, it doesn't make any sense that you can flip between type of military units so easily and "exploit" the cost of your army by changing your units. At least the AI should notice that and begin diplo plays against you taking advantage that you have a weak army.

It's not a bug. You need to start a diplomatic play that force Austro-Hungarians to abdicate their claim to lead the german unification. It's in culture option.

Ludi you lost the war ageinst Russia, because you don´t invaded Finland. You have to take all wargoals.

how did you make the naval invasion work with the 43 count army? i only made it work using the 7, 43 were too many and they just lost instantly when landing in denmark for me

If you form Germany by skipping the Holstein thing you don’t have to fight Austria. You just have to get your universities up get pan nationalism and become the only unification candidate. The unify in 48 and super Germany in 55. If you get Austria happy with you by48 then you get super Germany faster but that is not a good idea for a lot of reasons.

How do you get a naval invasion without a fight? In my games Denmark always has 16~ troops and they easily crush 70~ on the invasion suffering minimal casualties.
