For one, Arin used a purposely shitty version of the game, regarded as the worst version of the game you could get because he wanted the glitches. And two, Arin isn't the most skilled at games while also sometimes purpisel trying to play badly to play up the grump oersona and say the game sucks

Fun fact Spike the Porcupine is a real sonic character in the Archie comics he was a very minor character where he turns out to be a bad guy who pretended to be on Sonics side His design is pretty good and I'm pretty sure he is after Ken Penders writing run so ya know he is actually a cool character and not just some poorly written piece of trash
