Forrest Sherman Detailed Review 

Don't know anything about the game but cool review. I served on the Forrest Sherman from 1979-1983. It's cool to see references to it.

if being a cc dosent effect your toughts on the ships, and stances regarding subs and cvs, id say go for it.

Got the Sherman purely based on your videos and it's been as fun as you made it seem. I definitely do NOT think you should apply for the CC program as I think they will find ways to explicitly or implicitly muzzle you when you have any opinions critical of their decisions.

My biggest issue with the CC program seems to be how much WG seems to be anti criticism of their product. I do not know how much it would affect your ability to speak your mind within your content, but that seems to be the main deciding factor between people being in the CC or not purely from my general observations. Granted if it helps and purely improves your ability to deliver content, that's great.

when i bought Sherman i was sceptic, im not great DD player. But when i started to play him... holy! That ship is 100% my favorite to play, after 70games im around 100K average dmg. Im playing skills you mentioned as maybe actualy :D Cause that 5% of speed reload actualy do 0.0 buff so its not that great actualy. In case of AA its not halland but its working good. Always put out to shoot your AA when CV spots you combine it with imrpoved AA consumable and Planes dissapear. 6.5km detect is rough true but when someones spots you i prefer if its not suicide move, run in where i think DD is. when i see him watch him where he goes and if its going to me. i pop out smoke and hydro, he will come for me to get killed pretty much. and dont be hard on those torps. They are extreme good actualy. When u know where enemy mostly going or worse its small gap where people go. Its never bad to try send them. I often hit 2 or more torps per game, its similiar to yoshino torps using, u aim it random and hope, many times someone rly catch it. Its a money print ship for me since camo makes me use 40K for maintaince and make up 500K+ for game. But if exist DD im scared in sherman id say its only marceau,ragnar. Those 2 when they go for a cap where i go i retreat without thinking, thats too high risk for low reward. Thats my opinion, if you dont agree its alright.

Whether you decide to join the CC program again or not is irrelevant to me, you are IMO one of the best content creators out there, and manage to provide a lot of VERY useful information without coming across as arrogant or toxic as some of the Unicums tend to be. I honestly really enjoy your videos, and try to pay a lot of attention to the points you make in them. And hey, who knows, with the shakeup of the command structure in WG caused by the shift of their business, who knows, maybe there might be hopes for a new, better team. I mean, it CANT be coincidence that the Petro is finally getting a *meaningful* nerf, and they are also nerfing the Chkalov, another one of their poster child Russian ships, after all this time, shortly after announcing the move.. Keep up the amazing work man.

This is really a good review. Most streamer reviews on youtube have gotten really bad lately as they only expect you to sit and watch a half hours worth of gameplay and expect that to pass for a review *cough*maltese, SLM, flamu,flambas*cough*, so Im glad that you take the time to actually explain all the details of the ship. I bought Sherman and I really hate it, I just cant seem to do damage with it compared to my Groningen, so this video might help.

Your thoughts and reviews and insight on all the ships help me choose what ships to buy and what things to do in the game between you and Mountbatten I get all my Intel on surface ships I think you would be an awesome Cc I know you did a good job at it before I can imagineThis is like a full-time job but you’ve inspired so many captains like me a lot of your insight and knowledge on the game and willingness to help others is why I tune in every day for your reviews I know you’ll do a great job I say you should do it

My biggest problem with the F. Sherman is that everytime they're on the enemy team they're unicum with a million% WR. But when they're in my team, they're people that can't find their arses with the help of a map.

Sherman is absolutely hilarious with Halsey confederate. I laugh every time I get it. Side note, I do not think CC would be worth it imo

Just got the Sherman today and WOW. I put it off because I just didn't like the idea of 3 guns. Everyone said this is a great boat so I caved and decided to get it. So glad I did, just a few games in and it is obvious this will be one of my goto boats. SLOOOOOW but nobodys perfect.

Since you asked me, I prefer that you're not a CC, but I'll watch just as many of your vids either way. The detailed stuff is more useful than games, highlights of game play or stream commentary. Also, submarines suck and super ships badly diminish any sense of value from the grind, (15 x tier 10's from the tech tree in five plus years) in terms of a reward of some kind. No, it's not fine because they say I have the privilege of grinding tier 11 ships now. So, yeah, your work is solid, and you speak good English. Carry on.

What is that camo? For me the standardpermacamo is just a single grey or dark blue ish color. Is the two-tone an optional camo to buy somwhere?

So overall a nice review, well in depth. For the AA I would dare to say to not blame it on the ship but rather how AA mechanics are currently. Also a question, how (ineffective, sorry, can't find any better words) is Sherman ASW equipment, did they failed at representing how she was supposed to hunt submarines by giving her standard depth charges ? Finally I'm not sure if I would give the right answer to your final question. I think on one hand yes, being a CC allows you to give a more in-depth review of the new ships coming out. Yet, as a viewer on both YT and Twitch I do fear that sometimes (and only sometimes), opinions in your videos won't come from you without any kind of filter but will be bent to have a better shapes toward WG views of their games

The USS Tunerjoy is a Forest Sherman, having visited the the ship, I knew I would need to get it in game once it was announced. I got the F Sherman about a week ago, Its is absolutely fun. Feels like the fletcher used to, but cranked up. The torps are gearing fish. But the angles are very selective. Despite this I find my self firing them more as area denial, and getting a decent amount of hits. But dont expect them to win any games. The number of shell hits per game is ridiculous to All In all, a darn fun ship to play.

you being a cc, I would see as a benefit as you can provide good opinions on ships and game mechanics, and you would get the benefits as well. plus an inside look into wg would help you form more informed and stronger arguments

aren't high dpm gun boat builds dead until they fix the server tick rate? I know they fixed the sequential fire but the tick rate is still .278 ms or something like that.

with the DPM, one should mention effective DPM. The Sherman's guns are fairly inaccurate given the single gun turrets. every third shell or so I've found will always miss reducing actual DPM significantly. But when RNG says yes it melts things.

I think you're a great person providing content on wows and such, I just doubt how 'free' you will be able to be as a CC when it is about submarines, the state of balance, etc. That entire thing has been known to be a big taboo of bad news and if you try be honest to your subscribers then WG will cut you off for not being a posterboy of "submarines are the future, they're not anti-fun".

When the Black comes to the armory for coal, I wonder which would be better to get first. I've not got many high tier premiums, only Moskva, and I've been wanting to get a high tier premium destroyer. Since I heard Black would get added I've been saving up my coal, but Sherman seems really fun to play

Go for CC only if you keep your opinions as they are. You're one of the very few wows RU-vidrs I trust overall and I'd like it to stay that way.

I'm wary about the CC option. WG seems to lean on it's CCs to prop up their narrative, and most of the perks of being a CC are gone. Also WG seems to expect a lot in return for the "privilege" of being able to call yourself a CC. What's the point if getting better access if you can't speak honestly about your experiences or impressions? I'd pass.

@Potato Quality So at the end of the day it's your decision whether or not to join the CC program. But you did ask. My only suggestion is that it might be a good idea to wait until the dust settles from the current split the company is going through. I have my fingers crossed that when they come out on the other end they will be a bit better in terms of communicating and upholding commitments, but we will see. My main concern is that you may have to self censor. I would much rather wait a month for your uncensored opinion than otherwise.

I honestly feel this ship is the new Thunderer. Spam sap from smoke and farm damage. Isn’t as competitive at playing the objective like other DD’s. Most likely to be the next ship “removed due to popularity”.

Go for it ! test to the maximum your abilities to review the ships for us. Just ask yourself if you will have time for this and that's it.

i loved my shimya' but after coaled this sherman i started to have the real fun with a destroyer ... on ranked overpowers everything,... i melted even BBs like butter ... dd's are like non existent, they have no chance on 1v1. i ignore the torps on this boat, but it is a monster on ranked games

There's no question you'd do well in the CC program. You're a great player and content creator with great ideas of how the game could change. I dont think WG is looking for those qualities necessarily. It would be unfortunate if joining turned you against the game completely.

I think you would be a good CC. You keep out of the politics and speak honestly and clearly about the ships and game play.

For anyone building this ship do NOT build gunboat the 0.1 buff to reload is fkn pointless , the extra smoke AND hydro is far better , also drop main battery and AA for swift and silent its much more useful , drop fearless brawler for concealment 6.5 is low enough that u can spot most dds if ur pushing only a few seconds after you are spotted and again the dpm buff from fearless is almost pointless at a base 1.5 second reload compared to a 7.5km detection which means almost every dd in the game will outspot u and u will almost never get any dmg into enemy dd's .

These cc's are pretty much sales reps for Wow. I'm also convinced that their ships are given enhanced skills.

So the trick to beating these things is to focus one the second you see it. Gawt it

I have seen some vids about the sherman. It looks like the dispersion is much worse than other gun dds. But noone is mentioning it.

Right now it is between the Marceau and the FS for my next coal ship (using the coupon for my first Steel ship), leaning towards the Marceau due to how much I like the other French DD"s and fast ships. The FS I run into are usually taken out pretty quick with the vast majority not having that much impact, or losing their DD fights due to how slow/large they are and easy to detect. The well played ones can be a nightmare. I do like that the FS is a unique type of ship and does have some downsides to it, but it is still a very OP ship at times. And I am not a fan of the CC program after all the events and info about them came out during the last blowup. This is on WG end rather then against the players/content creators. Would I stop watching your stuff? No. Would I take any early access/free stuff reviews with a huge grain of salt (especially unreleased stuff)? Yes, and mostly because I don't trust WG to change things after release or hold things back from the people advertising/pushing them on the players. I also don't trust WG to just stomp all over their CC's when they feel the need to.

Regarding your CC question, do you want to give up your self respect or does it not phase you when somebody lies to you, ignores you, degrades you and uses you as their personal whipping boy? After the disaster that occurred last year surrounding LWM I can't imagine why anybody would want to remain in the CC program. I can imagine situations where they have no choice but to stay to continue to make their business model work as a vlogger, streamer, content provider, I just can't imagine that it would be anything but a hostile work environment.

I was stuck on my Choice the other night. Forest Sherman or Marceau???? I chose Marceau and my reason was the speed. I am very happy with Marceau. I think Forest could use a speed buff. I have Battle Ships that fast... Plus smoke is only good for so long and so many Radar and hydro search ships. Marceau with its speed, you can dodge shots easily and that is why I chose Marceau. I will likely get Forest Sherman next. It does look like a fun ship to have..

Sherman is a great DD, but it needs it's dedicated commander, to get most out of the ship potential. The only thing that i hate on this ship is the "Camera" position. Whenever i have the camera positioned at the front gun, the camera moves to the back guns just with a slight camera move to the left or right. I hope WG is going to fix it. It's getting frustrating from time to time.

For the CC thing, I think you should question yourself on why you want to get it. You seemed to have a lot of reasons/values that were keeping you away from the program and they were pretty legit. Do you want to be a CC to get the rewards and the standing, to be able to work more on your videos (because that's kind of it lol) or do you want to stay away from it because WG really messed up with their CCs? Think about it. I think you would be a really good CC, but you need to have the motivation and the time to invest in it, as well as the will to give WG another chance. Also, if you do want to get in, make sure that you will be authorized to review their practices and decisions in a constructive way as you have been doing for a while. Hope it helped you Bab :)

Been CC BAD idea with the history of the program and WG

CC program is the biggest mistake WG ever did. CC can’t speak and if they do we know how is end right Flammy? But the benefits of early access to future ships/ maps / changes / frees stuff etc. and not last close scratch my back .. etc. and when I add the ego and too much basement Testosterone we all have the Greatest BB player in world ! It’s a game and it’s for fun right ? Sherman is great DD and I will not take AR = 8% affecting that much ur reload ? Use Concealment as tool to move around in close / catch / islands game play , benefit my game play more . Extended smoke give u ability to stretch and spot for ur self as need it + farming in smoke ! The ship has high skill level as great team work , but lack of devastation = fix torps , making you only be a kaiting treat in Comparative Game mod . Did I have fun playing = Yes , I love it !

I say you should do it. Look at it this way: if WG decides to silence your voice or whatever they do, it’s their loss. It also seems CCs who have stuck with the program, like Notser, have gotten more free reign on what they can and can’t say. I don’t see the downside.

Many of the best CCs have left as you know. Eventually you will have to choose between integrity and remaining in the CC program. There is no free stuff.

Yes, be a CC. The previous generation of CCs gave up their spots to hold WG accountable. New CCs are needed to ensure that the next WG blunder doesn't go unpunished.

You asked this question a long time ago. If you honestly think WG will treat you differently than littlewhitemouse, chobitsu, and other CCs go for it. But don't be surprised if you cant make these vids, especially on subs and cvs which you know you've made opinions on.
