Fort Benning was officially redesignated Fort Moore on May 11th in honor of Lt. Gen. Hal Moore and his wife, Julia. Here is their amazing story.

This remaining is insane and stupid. Let's rename the state names, Georgia, N/S Carolina, New York, Maryland since they are all names for British monarchs or a Duke who fought against in the American Revolution and War of 1812. That can be a start to renaming anything British. That would be no crazier than renaming military forts.

US military installations should not be named after enemies of the USA. It's the equivalent of fort hitler or fort Yamamoto

Then let's rename anything British since the fought against us at least twice, the American Revolution, War of !812 and they supportered the US Confederate States. Let us be consistent or not at all. Just learn your history, the Confederate States declared their independence under the US Constitution and the northern states invaded them.
