Fort Myers Beach is a town on Estero Island, off the southwest Florida coast. A long, sandy beach faces the Gulf of Mexico. The Ostego Bay Marine Science Center showcases local marine life. To the east, trails run through Matanzas Pass Preserve nature sanctuary. Built on an ancient Calusa Indian shell mound, the 1900s Mound House has archaeological exhibits. Times Square shopping center has stores and restaurants.

Thank you....finally I see the FMB I love, the beach and wildlife is coming back. After all,it is the most important! I havent been able to face my huge jobs ahead at my totalled house on fmb, without the beach for walks, it be too hard to face!

I have never been to FM but my heart goes out to all that we're affected by the hurricane. I have so many questions like is there electricity, how do you tell property lines, is all of FM this desolate, etc? How are the locals handling all this, are they coming back, are they rebuilding? How horrifying it must have been and how daunting their tasks of rebuilding is.

What I don't understand is why you are allowing people in the water. This Christmas my friends kids went to see the devastation how they could help well her son was hot took a swim. By the time they got home he was unconscious took to hospital this thirty year old had some kind of bacteria enter his eyes an every orifice of his body he now will spend the rest of his life in a nursing home. Wow love first

How comforting it is to know that the beach is recovering, but don't forget that the Iona area still has rubble on the street and there is a bad smell. People live in that area, most of them adults.
