Unbelievable! We have made numerous trips to Ft Myers to visit friends who had a part time residence there that is no more. Even though we don't own real estate there, is is hard to watch as I am familiar with most of the places shown in the video. Looks like a warzone. Any speculation as to how long they are estimating to get all the debris cleared out and get the area rebuilt?? What a huge undertaking. Also, some high end real estate that close to the shore; has there been a lot of looting that you know of? My prayers go out to everyone effected. Thank you Jim/Erin Rose for sharing this footage.
It’s so sad. Really hard to comprehend lives lost and destruction. I’ve lived in Fort Myers for 20 years. I’ve been through and seen lots of Hurricanes and this was the worst. Not sure how long the clean up will take. It seems like everyone is doing the best they can. They have arrested over 50 looters most from out of the area. The beach and low lying areas were devastated. The rest of the town seems to be bouncing back quickly. Thanks for the nice comment.
It was weird giving you a thumbs up for the video because one’s doing it to thank you for showing just how bad it got down there for our fellow Americans not because we like what happened.
yea this looks waaaay worse than Charlie! we went to Ft Myers as a vacation when I was a kid sometime during winter 2005. that was just several months after Charlie but yet the island was mostly up and running by then! this looks like it will take years before it gets back to being close to normal!
