I was there in '66 for basic training. Wooden WWII barracks greeted us!! Hotter than blazes in the summer months. Glad to get out of there and move on.
I'm stunned, they showed not only my training battery, but members of my platoon! Holy crap I had forgotten about those women buzzing around with that camera. Hell I thought I saw myself in one shot.
I was there July 7, 1998 thru October 21, 1998. Hell I was looking for myself in the video. I'll be 33 this year, yes were getting old. Pretty neat to watch this though, gave recruiter my tape when I got back home. Never got it back.
@edinbyrd09 Well, that was nearly 12 years ago so I have no idea. I can tell you that whatever basic training you'll go to they'll tell you that "THIS ONE, is the tough one, the others are easy."
@edinbyrd09 Back in my day (summer 2007), Fort Sill was an all male training post that catered mostly to soldiers going into the field artillery. Now, they integrate female recruits with male recruits, so the standards have been lowered so females can keep up with everyone else.
this was filmed a year after i was there and look at the quality of the video it looks so old now im feeling old it was probably shot on a big ass hand held camera now you get better quality from a cell phone. and you dont even feel the injection guns the one you have to watch out for is the last one you get its in the ass and im not kidding it HURTS like hell you will feel it for at least one day after
@edinbyrd09 so you're telling me a female can hack it in the infantry, field artillery, or armor? can you also elaborate as to why females have a much lower PT than the rest of us?
If you enjoy being screamed at by assholes who think they are something special getting horrible shots, all your hair cut off, standing around in super hot weather in the summer, drinking disgusting hot water out of a nasty canteen getting screamed at some more running running and more running with just as much pushups being sent into a room with crystalized pain in the air then this is the place for you. And that is just putting it mildly.
