I have nothing but the utmost respect for the dancers and all the work they put into their Regalía and many hours and years of practicing to achieve perfección ✨️ 💜. In the old days on the plains when a thunder storm came up real bad. You laid down on the ground. This is from my Cheyenne Grandma advising me as a child.
I agree that the storm looks absolutely awful. Usually at the powwow I am the Chairman of, at the first inkling of a storm, we end the dance session immediately and wait the storm out. If the storm doesn't let up, move the powwow inside. I give them credit for toughing it out, but I agree it's a bit crazy, especially with the power knocked out mid-session.
