Fortezza di Radicofani, elevation 893m sits on the southern border of the National Park of Val d’Orcia. Arguably, this is one of the many scenic medieval fortresses in Italy. For centuries since 978AD, the Fortress of Radicofani has been the symbol of defense and control over the Via Francigena, on the border between Tuscany and Lazio.
