Really nice to hear the "amp" not just fucking cranked. Not only is it easier to hear how the amp is voiced, but it's a good reminder that less is more when it comes to gain.
theo goslett i combine the Cali with the Nolly, which i already owned. Just disengage the amp and cab sims.... I also tried using the cabs in the Nolly, instead of the Cali, but they seemed very similar...
It's 2022, cyber Monday and I am checking out demos for Fortin Cali Suite since Neural has a sale going on at the moment, and hot damn one my faves has the best demo showing such versatility and tone! From the future, thank you Jack!
Jack, your playing is so satisfying. How the notes flow, the phrasing and even the tones. Your instagram and YT channel are an endless source of inspiration for me and, I'm sure, for many others. Thanks for the awesome work!
Hey Jack, I stumbled onto your channel by chance just about a week ago and I have to say, you've quite easily become a favorite musician of mine at the moment. Gotta say, I love the musicality in your intros. After having this video que'd up I had to see if you had any music out there. Glad to hear you're working on it. Will definitely be looking forward to it. Cheers.
Really great demo, thanks a lot, Jack. I'm trying the plugin and it is not a one trick pony, it can cover a wide variety of tones and really feels great in the hands. I'm impressed!
Hi, a few questions as I just bought it. 1) What delay/reverb are you using on this demo ? 2) Is there anywhere I can download the presets you're demoing ? Thanks in advance, love your playing and videos, thinking about taking your neo soul masterclass. Peace!
Great video, Jack. Read through your comments to make sure I didn’t ask a question you’ve already answered (Reverb is stock Logic Pro X plug-in), so I’ll ask instead: which stock plugins did you use for reverb and delay? And do you have a video on how to dial them in all nice? Thanks!
Hey Jack, do you have any hi / low pass eq on this? I spent a few hours trying to get a nice clean tone, but it either sounded too muddy or way too harsh in the upper end. Can you possibly share your cab settings? I love the sounds you got in your video, but for whatever reason the amp just doesn't sound that great on cleaner channels when I set it up :D
H Jack: Incredible sounding virtual amp. But, how are you getting those nice delays/reverbs when using the Fortin Cali amp? Are you using effects in your DAW or something? I looked at the website and it doesn't mention any effects whatsoever in the Fortin Cali itself (i.e. no reverbs, delays, chorus, etc., but only mentions the Grind, Zuul & Hexdrive pedal effects). In contrast, the Archetype CORY WONG amp has 3 amps plus a bunch of effects - have you tried that one yet? So, question: If the effects only exist in a DAW setting, how can this be used with the same effects as a standalone? Thanks in advance.
John M. Hey John! Thanks so much man! I’m using stock Logic Pro X reverb and delay plugins with the Fortin Cali Suite. I recently did a demo for the Cory Wong plugin which sounds wicked as well, but I still think the Fortin is my go-to lead sound. I guess you could mix and match the plugins effects by bypassing the amp in Cory Wong (just turning the amp section off inside the plugin) and running a separate instance of Fortin Cali Suite?
Thanks for the quick response maestro! I got it - so your simply loading it into Logic Pro X as a VST instrument, correct? In my world, I use Ableton Live 10 and frequently load in Guitar Rig, EzDrummer, etc. and other keyboard controlled VST instruments, so I guess it's the same thing with Fortin Cali. I would love to see a video on your entire computer DAW home studio setup, how you record and mix, and what "guitar to computer interface" you use. Are you a PC or Mac guy? Thanks in advance! ✌👊☺
