Fortnite can't hold a candle to Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 3, Frogger, Sonic 2, Final Fantasy VII, Super Castlevania, Resident Evil 2, etc., and I was a dominant force on Fortnite a few years ago.
Im waiting for the day that fortnite adds every fictional character to exist it's the one game where you can kill master chief do the griddy on him as doom guy while kratos and goku are dancing while Peter griffin is cranking 90s nobody would believe a single word I said in 2018
I love how they dropped a battlefield, minecraft, rocketleague/horizons clones and they are actually bangers. Feels like roblox and fortnite did a fusion dance and im honestly kinda here for it.
its pretty fire its just a little too easy, which means everyone is neck to neck the entire time and one mistake means you lose with little chance of recovery@@JesusChrist-ch2dk
My grandpa used to tell me stories about D-Day. I'll never forget the look in his eye when he recalled how Goku launched a Kamehameha right at the beaches of Normandy to clear the way for John Wick to 360 no-scope some nazis.
The way that Epic Games has kept Fortnite alive throughout the years should be a case study in marketing. They have consistently kept it alive with relevant franchise collaborations (Marvel, Travis Scott, Marshmello, Eminem, etc.), pulled publicity stunts (Epic Games v. Apple), and have continuously updated and expanded their game. It's actually crazy, given that many games die out after a couple years.
@@angulinhiduje6093they just won a lawsuit this week against Google’s monopoly on the Google play store… I don’t think it’s just for clout, I think they want to call out Apple and Google for their greed and make sure they’re getting the share they deserve if theyre gonna make money for the platform
The craziest part about fortnite is that it was never supposed to be this big. Save the world was the only intended gamemode for fortnite. BR was a last second inclusion that single handedly made this game not die within its first year after dropping. Had this game only dropped the way it was intended to, people to this day would barely even remember it existed.
My grandfather fought for the 175th infantry regiment and stormed Normandy and fought until the Rhineland in WW2. All so I could do the same in Fortnite as Goku 80 years later 😭😭😭
Say what you will about Fortnite as a company, but at least they add consistent new updates/focus on what the player base wants (creativity, etc)/And lastly consistent new content.
I recently stated playing it again and they have build, no build, they have races, lego Fortnite, guitar hero type concerts, actual concerts, like it or not they have a lot of variety to prevent you from getting bored of the same repetitive thing many games don’t. A lot of updates and they don’t fail to keep them coming this game has and will continue to be here for the long run
And the 3 new main gamemodes absolutely cook. Fortnite Festival is Rock Band 5, Lego Fortnite will contest minecraft to actually not slowly burn the game away, and the racing mode while not in depth as the others is fun and I cant wait to see what will cone from the map maker. Not to forget all these modes with the BR will be receiving support and future updates. Edit: I said CONTEST, not beat, kill, or fully overtake/outdo minecraft.
never played rythm games but the rocket racing one felt like it had more depth then fortnite festival (but im gonna play both a lot in rocket league for the reaxhinggold free skin and i bought the season pass in festival so gotta grind through lul)
The grapple gun, lightsaber, force abilities, Katana and the Attack in Titan ODM Gear a few months back was some of the most fun I had in a shooter. Almost never had guns or heals because of them lol.
I don't play Fortnite, but seeing how big it's become to basically be a massive sandbox for players and creators alike is truly awesome. Fortnite has become a staple game in the industry and it's going down as a timeless game for years to come
@@BeretBay Solid Snake drops in about 40 days. He's on the Battle Pass, though, so I recommend you get on soon so you can grind out the rest of the Battle Pass. Up to you.
It's a shame that the reason why FN is so addicting (For me) is because their competitors are broken af (WZ and Apex to name a few). Now that it expanded into a platform, I'm generally more excited to see what will happen next.
@@yungborger7036Honestly I kinda like it. Sure it maybe not for everyone, but the fact that you can play anything including battle royale is pretty cool
I remember playing on Core Games like 2 years ago thinking they're definitely going for a Roblox inspired platform that plays like Fortnite and now we have Fortnite taking a similar user generated games approach. Both of them with players recycling the classic Roblox Tycoon games, I like where it's headed it just needs time for players to start tapping into that creative side and make original games.
I remember trying to start match searches at the same time just so we could say we were in the same game. I think if Fortnite had started like this it wouldn’t have been as successful. Its natural growth helped ensure that features like these are properly supported by the dev team.
When I reach my WWII in my US II class, I will have my students play the beaches of Normandy so they can know what it was like to be Captain Rex rushing the beaches against constant fire from Ariana Grande
I like how there’s no pay to win or pay to play forced on people. It’s there if people want to pay, but it’s not necessary to play. I haven’t spent a penny on the game yet I’ve had fun playing it over the years on and off.
I remember beta testing it and I have loved it ever since the server updates are regular they add content consistently skin's and now have gave the community the chance to create mini games it's great to see how far epic have taken it not to mention how amazing their pc port is
My long distance gf and I started playing Fortnite as a joke 4 months ago, happy to say the game has been so entertaining we keep playing any chance we get! Super happy with the way things are going (especially the zero build BR)
@@fotis3v480 It's sad how you insist on judging relationships based on your narrow perspective. Maybe someday you'll discover that life isn't just black and white, and people can actually be happy without your 'wisdom.' Good luck with that, though.
As someone that’s stood by the game even when I didnt play a couple seasons as much, and always seen the potential its so satisfying to see epic take that potential above and beyond. The stuff Fort is doing now is insane and awesome, I’ll never understand the hate on the game especially now. So many people i know that hated it have come and changed their minds, pretty sure that’s all a game could ask for, its great to see so many new tricks up its sleeves. I’m happy for fort.
@@dyllanrodriguez2828 It ain't even bait lol, you're the one mindlessly praising Epic Games for doing something that has already been done way better by other games. Maybe next time use other abjectives if you don't want people to disagree with you.
People hating on Fortnite but it's the one game that can consistently update and bring new content and keep people playing. I haven't really seen other games do what they are doing
Ngl I haven’t played Fortnite since 2019 not only did this season they managed to bring me back but also managed to to get me to buy a new skin what a dope season
"I was hitting the griddy after thunder pumping Peter Griffin but Naruto and Eminem 3rd partied me" Who would have believed this could actually be true like 5 years ago...
Honestly i played the game about four or so years, the last 2 off and on. I’ve found myself enjoying the game so much more, OG was fortnite’s way of taking it into the mainstream again and ever since then they’ve been going absolutely bonkers
I remember back in the day 3-4 years ago when everyone kept saying fortnite bad minecraft good, Now everyone loves it and you dont really see anyone playing minecraft that much nowadays (its kinda boring tbh).
I think the point when Fortnite went from cringe to fun was when they just fully leaned into the meme ridiculous shit. Don’t take yourselves too seriously when you’re making a battle royal game and I’ll have fun with my boys.
Fr I remember just like 2 years ago when I was making fun of people for playing Fortnite. Now I wake up everyday to try and level up enough to get Peter griffin in the battle pass 💀
@@itsnotkwiljex holy fuck an actual person, I thought the bots had wiped us out 💀. But same, in high school I thought it was like the weirdest shit, granted I was an asshole but man, I never thought I’d think this games fun. But getting drunk with my friends and having the goofiest battle Royale is somethin special lol.
I was here for the stream, seeing all the goofy custom games and absolute chaos was just so fun. Edit: I'm so sad you didn't include the speed run. That was such a fun journey
I can't believe that I'm genuinely loving this game as of late after all the shit I gave it for all the cringey squeakers that I thought littered the game
I downloaded fortnite recently because I was curious of their partnership with lego. There I found out it was "just" a game mode within a game yet the gameplay is so good. I also realised that fortnite is now a sandbox game with a loooooooot of game modes, makes it much more fun and less sweaty tbh
Watching this stream made me realize how much content I miss only watching the videos. I just normally don’t like the dulls in between the funniest parts of the stream. From now on, if I have free time I’d love to tune into streams as well 😁
Being fully cross platform has also allowed me and my boys to play this every night even though we all have to play on a different medium ever since no build came out we’ve played like every night and it’s a goated game to play with friends
I know it's probably before most of the FN community was born, but this is reminding me of the wild west days of half life TDM as well as HL2 and Gmod. Any server you could join could have some friggin weird map or mode.
It´s crazy cause this is what fortnite has always been doing, putting its own spin on something already done and making it fresh and innovative. This is the exact same thing they've always done, just on a higher level. Whether you love or hate fortnite, you can't deny that they've drastically changed the gaming industry forever. What's even crazier to me is that this was their plan all along, one of the original plans was having fortnite become a hub that encompasses all genres and can be used to essentially play different games from the same place, and after all these years where people were constantly saying that fortnite was dying and stuff like that they've completely returned and are back to the top
I fully agree. I think that in large part, its previous, largely-undeserved (imo) decline in popularity was simply due to the whole "Fortnite is just for kids" mantra going well-beyond an objective statement based on clear reasoning and basically reaching the status of memehood, such that most potential players stopped giving the game even an honest chance to impress them. Maybe I'm just biased on that take though since I've been playing since season one and am 37 lol
@@DrunkenHotei it turned into "Fornite is for nerdy sweats" but zero build brought the casuals back. Which is not a bad thing at all, it's actually great.
@@DrunkenHotei I think people just got tired. It rode its wave for a long time and it remained popular for an insane chunk of time, partly thanks to its great dev team and constant updates, but eventually people moved on to other games, as tends to happen. Many players remained, but it wasn't as big as it was in its prime. But now it's back and it's huge again. Honestly I think having an OG season was brilliant advertising as it brought back so many people, and the new modes caused many to stay. Had they unveiled all this without OG they wouldn't have brought in as many players, with that combo they brought back old players with nostalgia and got them to stay with a crazy update. Really smart of epic
@@Sam-vz8pm Agreed. I don't think our perspectives are mutually-exclusive, but the factors you mention are probably more to blame for its lingering reputation.
It’s actually brilliant that they did the og map and then introduced all these new amazing things. It’s like they did that to get more people to come back and then say hey look at all these amazing innovations we have now too
Or they knew that they were basically releasing what amounts to Fortnite 2 in the new Chapter and needed to get as many people back in before it went off the rails. 🤷♂️
I remember the first time I cried at a Dunkey Video in 1958 at the Rockefeller Theatre in Baltimore, Wisconsin. I was there with my grandpaps that day. I never saw him again after that day. I still get misty eyed thinking about his face. Times are different now thankfully….
I've been a fortnite hater until a few months ago. Started playing with my boss and his wife and I am very impressed with it. They have amazing updates regularly, and they partner with a seemingly endless amount of high tier companies to bring updates/skins.
Never in a million years did I think that someone would reference Arietty whether its intentional or not it's amazing Btw it's when they say they are playing as the borrowers at 3:58 min
If there's anybody that doesn't enjoy Fortnite's cartonney look and wants an authentic ass WW2 FPS Shooter with large scale fights from both sides. Check out Hell Let Loose. Genuinely chaotic game with authentic sound effects, graphics and gameplay.
The skin looks really cool, but it's not out yet. They'll release it by around February and will be part of the Battle Pass, so you can't outright purchase it.
